The image the map was buried in from Bethesda's facebook page.
A larger version of it from Bethesda's twitter.
The image from Bethesda's facebook page flipped 180 degrees and the colors altered.
So hype!!

That actually looks like a very poor match for the Providence and Boston area, but hey, this is from Fallout, not the National Geographic Society.
It is speculated that the difference in the coastline and other things like that are due to the nuclear blasts.

If we go by time between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, ignoring NV, there's what, 5 years in between? (I'll look it up). Edit: 6 years.

That's in comparison to Fallout 3, of course, because New Vegas was only a side project at Bethesda.

And fought lots and lots of Robo-scorpions. What in the heck are they weak to? Normal ones, you shoot in the stinger, and they go down like nothing, but these? Yipes. I tried pulse grenades, my Tri-Beam laser rifle, LAER, the dog gun, etc., and they just don't die.
Even worse are those creepy Y-17 Trauma Override Harness things. I just about shat myself when I stumbled into a squad of about 10 of them, hanging out with a RY-589 Ultimo bot. I was happy to have that Stealth suit, let me tell you.
I walked into one location, saw holograms, and immediately hit the deck. Talk about being trolled - these ones weren't hostile.

Also tough are the supercharged securitrons. Fortunately they're only in the one area.
And the nightstalkers. Aaagh. I always come prepared with explosives now.

The trials in X-8 were a cakewalk once I added the 'unknown specimen', aka nightstalkers. I had a couple of Hall Monitors and Protectrons to worry about, and left the nightstalkers to do their thing.
P.S. I feel terrible having to kill those police/military dogs. It's like having to kill Rex.
And...I accidentally hacked Doctor 8, and got some bad karma. He seems scared of me, now.

Shotguns and explosives...lots of explosives!
Edit: No Animal Friend here. I envy you. They were a blight for me.

I started Old World Blues over the weekend, and again, I'm blown away. So far, I've picked up the X-13 stealth suit (that speaks!), created Roxie, killed Gabe (sad), and found some upgrades for my living quarters at The Sink.

I truly hated those roboscorpions. Tough buggers.
My best luck was sneaking up on them and hitting their stingers with the Gobi Campaign Sniper Rifle.

Correcting some of the think tank over and over again never ever got old.
Or poking holes in your brains reasoning.
More funny is playing a stupid courier through the whole thing.
God I think OWB may have been the best DLC tied with LR.

I picked up a Tesla Cannon right before I quit playing for the night, so maybe I'll try that. So happy I maxed out Energy Weapons.
Oh, and I got two mods for the K9000 cyberdog gun - the Mentat Chow and the Resla Roil. Oh, Scooby.
@Giggles - So far, I'm inclined to agree. I liked Honest Hearts well enough, but wasn't super compelled by it. Then Dead Money scared the bejesus out of me, but it was really well done. Old World Blues is more up my alley. Scary creatures, and all that, but at least you don't have to contend with toxic air, a bomb collar, scary music, and horrible Ghost people that shuffle around like the nurses from Silent Hill. And that wheezing sound they make. Ugh.

If you have a melee character, the various axes (aim for the top one) are the best weapons, I found. If you don't have a melee character, the Pulse Gun is a good choice, and if you're desparate, the sonic gun they give you at the beginning of OWB will also get the job done, although not quite as effectively.

I'll see if I can get my hands on a Pulse Gun.
So what is the point of the cyberdog gun? Is there one? It seems like it's just a standard, but super-fast-shooting bullet gun to me. Of course, I haven't tried it with the new mods yet.

My Melee skill is at about 24, and that's completely due to skill books I've found. I'm more of a ranged player; always have been. I went with Unarmed in Dead Money, due to necessity, but my preference is definitely to keep my distance.

K-9 can be fairly powerful with upgrades, but I don't usually use it myself. Fido is better, but you need to do a couple of things in the right order to get it.
The Pulse Gun can be found in a couple of places in New Vegas, and I think there's one in OWB somewhere, too.
The location I always use is Vault 34, which has a Pulse Gun in the Armoury, but that's obviously a fairly major undertaking. It's worth it, if RoboScorpions are giving you major trouble. It doesn't short-cut them, but you don't need much Energy Weapons skill to make it work, and it usually only needs a few shots to kill the higher-level ones. It will suck up a lot of Energy Cells, but it is probably the best all-around weapon for killing robots, if for no other reason than the fact that it is really easy to use, even if you're not an energy weapons specialist.
