I'm happy it's fake, maybe Bethesda is really letting Obsidian do the game. Hey a person can hope. I still have Wasteland 2 to fall back on if Bethesda is really going to do another Fall Scrolls.

Bleh. Well, we were fish in a barrel. Bethesda could have said something sooner, drat them.

Hell, maybe they were in on it. Just pissing themselves laughing the whole way.

Pete Hines explained on Twitter that they don't respond to things like this publicly very often because it just encourages more such bumcluckery. Which is understandable.

Fallout 4 was a hoax? Oh, okay then. As long as Project Brazil Act II isn't a hoax, I'll live. Have to get my Fallout jollies somewhere.

So, yeah, it's a hoax. :-/

Well, there's always a VGA to see will Fallout 4 happen.
Though now it's an unfounded hope.

Pete Hines said they're not showing anything at VGX. Bright side: No TESO.

edit- Actually, that could be a loophole since he said Bethesda wasn't showing anything, not Zenimax. Bleh.

Nothing would dishearten me more. Fortunately, I'm pretty sure Bethesda isn't that stupid.

Nope, if Bethesda pulls the same crap with FO4 that they did with either FO3 or Skyrim then they are still stupid.

I hope obsidian and bethesda do a collaborative effort on it but that's just wishful thinking.

I don't know why people give Obsidan a free pass all the time. Everyone raves about Fallout New Vegas. Well, without Fallout 3, we wouldn't even have that game. An hour in Alpha Protocal was all I could take of Obsidian's game design. And I don't want another Fallout on the westcoast, in a bleak desert. I find that environment sterile and boring. I hope it's in Boston, or somewhere else on the east coast, with lots of dilapidated, crowded city scapes.

Because unlike Bethesda, Obsidian gets Fallout because most of the staff worked on FO1/2, Bethesda showed in FO3 they don't get the series at all.

Don't worry Mr. House, Bethesda learned their lesson. I'll bet that Fallout 4 won't even have HALF as many dialogue trees with only one conversation option as there were in Skyrim.:wizard:

I already expect FO4 to have that horrible dialog system that was in Skyrim.

In all seriousness though, I hope it keeps New Vegas's dialogue system, the text for failed skill and SPECIAL checks in that game was hilarious.

I look at Fallout 3 as more of a spin off game.

Just because some company got the rights to a name doesn't mean they know what the hell to do with it. See Operation Flashpoint and Codemasters.

Everyone knows Bohemia makes the 'real' Flashpoint games now, not Codemasters.

I take it I'm the only one here who liked Fallout 3 and New Vegas? Both were good games, in my humble opinion. Flawed, but good. I found them to be fun.

Rather enjoyed my Courier blazing a trail through the Mojave in search of Benny, the forks in the road when it came to handling quests, the neat dialogue options avaliable when speaking to Benny when my Courier finally caught up to him, and the choices in being able to shape the future of the land. I'm partial to a highly intelligent protagonist.

Also had a blast with my Lone Wanderer wandering through the ravaged landscape of the Capital Wasteland, being able to take diplomatic approaches to antagonists like the Overseer and Autumn (a stable of the series), wrecking carnage against the Enclave with an anti-Communist robot from the past, deciding between euthanizing Harold and bringing life back to the Capital Wasteland, and wondering whether siding with or against Ashur would bring a better future with my Lone Wanderer.

That's just my two cents, of course.

You are definitely not the only one. I enjoyed both immensely. Replaying FO3 as we speak, and according to some, I probably shouldn't be enjoying it as much as I am, but such are preferences. Like I've said before, didn't play the first FOs, so I have no emotional attachment to what FO is really suppose to be...thank the gods btw.
