Check out ...Wasteland 2, Age of Decadence and Underrail.

Expecting anything besides a dumbed down action game with lame writing, quests and RPG mechanics out of Bethesda would be crazy.

And I should be a billionaire, but that's not likely to happen. Should just lie in bed all day until one day a billion dollars is transferred to my bank account?

Ah, good. His legend is beginning to spread throughout the BSN.

Fun fact: he loves FO3, but hates NV for a few mindnumbingly stupid reasons.

Dare I ask? Hmm, maybe it's best not to. His opinions seem to have a physical effect on me, and not in a good way. 'Tis a veritable cornucopia of madness.

I'd prefer it not be turn-based. But I would also like to be a billionaire, if that's on the table.

The one part that really made me sad about exploring the Mojave was that there were very few Yao Guai. I always take the Animal Friend perk, and it was super cute seeing those out in the wild, curled up, sleeping. Made me all warm and squishy inside.

They're a lot more common in the Honest Hearts DLC.

I knew one of the DLCs had them, but I couldn't remember which. One of my friends told me that the Animal Friend perk doesn't apply to those particular Yao Guai, though. Is that true?

According to the wiki, yes. I've never taken that perk myself.

He thinks the story is kinda dumb b/c he can't understand why Mr. House and the NCR are against each other. Bear in mind, David doesn't like games w/ branching storylines. He absolutely adores FO3 b/c the Lone Wanderer is a veritable messiah.

I like turn-based games, but it's not like I'm gagging for the next FO games to be turn-based. If someone wants a turn-based game like the original FO, then there's Wasteland 2.

I wish it was on the table.

Ofc it's not going to go back to be turn based again ! and i'm not waiting for that either, i'm just sick of everything being modernized into third and first person view sh!t games, old game series CAN be revived without being changed to the worse every single time, tactical combat, isometric view and any sort of challenge is gone in favor for making it more casual and shooter friendly, New Vegas is on the other hand a huge step from Fallout 3 in several of these department though not enough.

Talk to the users in here who wanted more "refined" shooter mechanics in the next FO game. Think CoD w/ few RPG elements. That'll truly ruin the franchise.

Now, if they decided sometime in the future to make an FO game that was turn-based, it would be more like the latest X-COM game than the old school isometric view.

Eh, it's more of an ES clone than a CoD one, and ES has been first person since the 90s.

Because grey and brown is so fun to explore right?

I thought the same when I first saw the Fallout 3 screenshots, but then I played the game and I was surprised how fun it actually was to explore the wasteland.

New Vegas was pretty much the same to me except with more greens.

I agree with what you;re saying about Fallout 3 but disagree on New Vegas, after using a mod called Tale of Two Wastelands  a mod that merges both games, there is a huge difference in everything, exploration included. I felt that FO3 didn't have enough interesting places, there's nothing like the Strip or Freeside which, Rivet City and Megaton aren't all that exciting.

Instead, in New Vegas you can see the far away lights of the Strip, that alone makes it so much better and for god's sake FO3's music is so boring sometimes, especially in Megaton and Rivet City. New Vegas just felt more alive, and maybe that's precisely what they didn't want to do with Fallout 3 but either way I enjoy the Mojave way more than the CW.

That's the problem, no matter what you do it's going to be casualized and "more" modern apparently because old school mechanics isn't good enough for some, now if they just would "refine" old school mechanics in a improved/smoother way instead of discard them that would be great...
and while i do and can enjoy New Vegas for what it is it doesn't feel like a Fallout game for me and the changes almost make it near impossible for me to want to sink as much time in them as i did with Fallout 1&2+Tactics thus making them not nearly as enjoyable to play imo.

That's true. I guess w/ the addition of firearms, it get's all CoDy or whatever.

I know that FO3 was referred to Oblivions with Guns, but I had the benefit of being able to play FO3 before I ever played Oblivion.

Having a more "refined" shooter mechanics won't suddenly turn it into a CoD game.

Let's face it, Fallout 4 won't be a turn-based classic Fallout RPG. Having an improved action gameplay is much better than being stuck with a half-ass shooter RPG with awkward animations and dumbed down weapon mechanics.

Yea, It's funny how the (bad) RPG mechanics are sort of an excuse for the bad combat and vice versa.

At this point they might as well just fully concentrate on the combat systems/gameplay in their games and streamline everything unnecessary. Bethesda should just drop their "RPG elements" entirely and make open-world action-adventure games with Blade of Darkness/Dark Souls style combat (for the ES games, say)...good shooting mechanics for their post-apoc games...

And now let's enter the hype train.

Also, a countdown website made by Bethesda.( thanks Liamv2 for link)
Presuming countdown to official announcement and teaser trailer?

As a fan of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I'm interested to find out what the next Fallout will bring. I enjoyed my LW and my Courier.

I like both FNV and FO3 as well, so the fact that people pick sides amuses me. Also plan to play Wasteland 2. The people who can't get over that Bethesda has the IP now are just going to have to do so. They're making money so it's going to continue. Move on and stop peeing in everyone else's Sugar Bombs.

But yeah. I don't know why people are getting excited over Fallout 4 considering Failout 3 and how it paled in comparison to New Vegas and the older Fallout's.

Because not everyone shares your opinion?

I do

Then Bethesda should get help from Chris and Josh if they plan on doing more Fallouts instead of making more FO3s.

You know, this whole thing is so surreal. It's been 5 years since FO3 came out, and it seems like it's been an eternity. I'm anxious for some kind of acknowledgement from Bethesda, and would love some details.

I will be heartbroken if we end up finding out that this is some kind of elaborate hoax.

Eh, folks can pee all they want, I have no problem with people venting. The fact is, the die is cast for the franchise.  Didn't play FO prior to 3, so zero attachment here.  I like the franchise as I found it.  And it is, perhaps, the furthest thing from COD, having played both extensively. If actually improving gunplay makes it COD then...well...OK, it's COD.  That's more a dismissive label than anything.  Too little attachment to the past titles to care what 'old schoolers' think FO should be.

Loved Oblivion, FO3, NV and Skyrim.  As a satisfied consumer of Bethesda and Obsidian products, I'll be very satisfied with more of the same.  Wish Bioware would take a lesson or two.

I don't think it is a hoax.

Is it weird that I still have the Brotherhood of Steel theme on my PS3?
