I always thought Javik was better if you had Wreav, because Javik gets confrontational with him on Sur'Kesh.

ME2:
Mordin Recruitment: Garrus and Zaeed. Garrus for drama and for some unique dialog from Mordin about Turians and humans.

Jack Recruitment: Miranda. I like to think it's Miranda's comment about knocking Jack out that sparks their animosity. I know Garrus will say the same thing if you take him with someone else, but it doesn't have with same "bite" that Miranda saying it does.

Grunt Recruitment: Jack (with Garrus again) mainly because she's one of the few characters that doesn't complain when Shep makes that merc think he's going to bleed to death.

Horizon: I like to take Jack and Garrus. I like what Garrus says to the VS (and it's interesting to point out that Garrus calls Kaidan by his first name and Ashley by her last name) and Jack's line "Whatever you say, Boss Lady."

Collector Ship: Garrus and Miranda. I like to think this is where the cracks start to form in Miranda's perception of the Illusive Man and Cerberus.

Derelict Reaper: I like taking Garrus and Jack. Just because Jack has Shockwave and so does my Vanguard Shep. Blitzed husks everywhere!

Collector Base: Miranda. For reasons. Image IPB

Mordin has some unique dialogue in Grunt's recruitment mission regarding tank-bred krogan

Both Grunt and Zaeed have unique dialogue in Garrus' recruitment mission.  Zaeed with the Blue Suns and Grunt with the Blood pack leader.

Kasumi has a couple of horrified reactions to Pragia in Jack's loyalty mission, if I recall correctly
Grunt has some unique dialogue with Mordin in Mordin's recruitment.

Have Tali with you when dealing with the quarian "pickpocket" on the Citael or the indentured servant on Illium

I never did have her with me for that... I should go back and do it again. I always wanted a little more paragon action for the Quarian on the Citadel. My paragon Shepard shouldn't have to just sit there when she complains about eating paste at a Quarian shelter... I wanted to be able help her like the Quaian shopkeeper on Omega (Ken, I think?).

Tali isn't the only one who's awesome in those scenes. Make sure to pick all available options for the volus bit, your other squaddies may provide commentary.

Well, Tali and Kasumi have a particularly good responses when brought together to the pickpocket situation

For Sur'Kesh with Wreav, take EDI.

Wreav: The Reapers are taking it slowly with us. They know that the minute we enter the war, their days are numbered!
EDI: -Or maybe they do not see your species as significant enough. :innocent:
Wreav: >.< ... I don't like her.
