Obviously not. I just thought it looked kinda cool. I had never watched Liara's scene before now, so I was unaware of all of the colors and stuff.EntropicAngel wrote...

I would have loved to have Kaidan's biotics do the same thing in his scene. It was rather cool.
Yeah, I suppose from a technical standpoint it's neat.
Not something I'd really go bragging about in my favorite video game series though...
If you're going to do sex scenes, do them right or don't do them at all

I really don't care as long as we don't have the whole fade to black and awkward camera angles that Origins had. DA2 was better in this regard but meh.
And the game isn't rated M so they can have raunchy ass sex scenes, it's rated M for blood, gore, and violence.
i dont recall much anything in da2 that compared to origins

Smooches, though, now that's something entirely different.
Give me passionate kisses, give me comforting kisses, give me angry kisses, give me loving kisses, give me kisses during cuddling, give me kisses after a big battle, give me kisses in front of the camp fire under a full moon.
Just give me lots of smooching, Bioware. Whatever may or may not happen after it I am more than capable enough of picturing myself.

Yeah, and if you had Zevran, I don't think he would kiss you on command. So as a gaymer, I would love to have that option in DA:I. Also, hugs please. I would love to give my companions or LI a hug.TeamLexana wrote...
I could support more kissing. There wasn't nearly enough kissing in DA2. I missed it from DAO when I could ask my LI to kiss the warden... or... other things when were alone at camp. Tehehehe.

I have to admit, I don't like many Liara scenes, but that one was smokin'! I would have loved a biotic effect with Kaidan's love scene as well. But I'll take what I can get.
Yeah, the effect is pretty cool and then some.
Biotics make sex better and are pretty useful. Out of condoms? If you or your partner has biotic skills, then one can create a biotic condom.

Full sex scenes would cut into the gratuitous violence, can't have that. Plus any form of nudity on screen, no matter the context, is basically porn.
Huh?

For reference on how to make scenes for mature audiences, look at movies. Look at the difference between the sex scenes in a movie with NC-17 / R rating as opposed to PG-13 movies.
That should give you a clue.

With Skyrim and Witcher having toolsets for making mods, Bioware would be foolish not to release their own toolset, even if it comes out much later after the game is released, as Skyrim's toolset did.
I personally like using the toolset to fine-tune all my characters' faces to my own taste anyway. My game became so modded it gave me many hours more play, and added a lot more depth to the original game.

Ugh I cant believe I actually have to explain this
Its sarcasm. I am making fun of their fear of any form of nudity despite excessive amounts of violence. I lost count of how many nameless soldiers I have decapitated and yet you do not see nudity even when it arguably fits with the context.

This is not something exclusive to BioWare, it's something of an acceptable norm in general.
Why? Probably something to do with Sigmund Freud (or rather his theory), and irrational deep-seated religious fears.
As for the original question, I agree, please don't insult my intelligence.
I don't really expect or need porn scenes in an RPG, but fade to black does seem like a better option than the sanctimonious approach of clothed sex scenes.

Its not so much a problem with sex scenes, but rather avoiding nudity altogether and I agree this is hardly something exclusive to bioware, although I think sometimes it is accepted so casually that it does not make sense. Why after seeing the sort of things I have seen in dragon age alone would I be worried about nudity? I see somebody who is suppose to my characters mother have her head sewn onto an abomination but the raunchiest thing I have ever seen in a Bioware game is the side of a boob.
Sure I can do without sex in my games, but I could also do without much violence either.
I am still going to argue the meaning was pretty blatant. This is a thread based on having mature sex scenes, I question in what context you think I would be mentioning the excessive violence in any other way but to compare the two?

Couldn't agree more, though I see less Bioware at fault rather than the general public in the US and some other countries. US culture in that is completely bonkers.Isichar wrote...

As for sex scenes in DAI, if they said they're aiming at the ME1 style that's good. I've always said I don't need to see everything, but what I see must be believable.
Edit:
ME3's banshees are another example. Apparently grossly "uglified" and deformed naked asari are ok, but healthy and beautiful ones less so. Bonkers, I say!
