When silver gets boring/too easy I guess. I had some badass friends, who carried me through gold first and helped me improve get comfortable with everything fast. Imo best way to improve is to play a lot with much better players and learn from them. I suggest you add some BSNers for your platfrom, most are good or and know a lot of stuff about this game.

This.

Also, there is no tinfoil! A lot of us here are joking^_^

What is that!? its always referenced but never explained and i just nod along as if i know what i means

An imaginary difficulty that would be easier than bronze. Wood, Dirt, Plastic, and any other made-up difficulty are also supposed to be easier than bronze.

A good metric is when you can making through silver pugs pretty consistently without dying, you'd do ok in gold.

The only way to know if you're ready for gold however is to try it. Just be well prepared.

Simply put, Bronze tactics rarely work on Silver. Silver tactics do not translate to Gold, and Gold do not translate to Plat.

Do a gold every now and then - even if you're not "feeling ready". What you need is to get a feel for the faster pacing.

My professional experienced unbiased thoughtful and best guess recommendation is to send me a message, play some games, unl0ck all th3 th1ngz, then give me a hug.

Seriously. Let's play.

Edit:  Playstation?  Fuck.  :(

Aw. I feel bad for you.

And OT, just play gold. You'll learn. Also, get a mic and friend some BSNers.

Ideally, do it with the people you play the most with, or have the most synergy with, when you play. If you have access to experienced Gold players on your platform, all the better. A lot of the basics of Gold are easiest to grasp when you have someone there to help coach you, or who at least has your back.

Making the jump to Gold can be quite difficult if you do it by PuGing (playing with random players.) These days, you have a decent chance of running into a strong player or two who can carry you, but the investment, in terms of equipment and consumables used, is likely to be high enough for you (at this stage) to make the risk of PuGing unpalatable.

This, you do not need the best equipment or weapons, it's a good team that makes this level a cake walk and fun, hook up with a few from BSN and have fun, when one has played this enough shield boosting players can be a pain, just kill it and everyone will be fine

When I jumped into gold, I chose the faction I wanted to fight to be sure my character had an advantage against them.
For example, against geth I only used the Female Quarian Infiltrator.
Also, use equipment and if you can, pick a good lobby. Your teammates are really important, even more when you aren't used to the difficulty.

If you fail, try again. It doesn't matter if you aren't very good at first, most people will still team up with you.
