He's an awesome character with very little plot armor. Along with many in the ME2 squad. It makes me sad thinking about it. They manage to give him some decent development despite that, but I always think "what could've been", if his presence was a little more dependable. Many will disagree here, but the more I think about it, I dislike this aspect of Mass Effect. How abusive it can be to potentially great characters.

However, Wrex is pretty cool. I'd say almost as cool as grunt.
Almost.

I talk to Wrex all the time in Mass Effect 2.
I bring him to all of the Citadel DLC missions and I talk to him a lot in Mass Effect 3.
Citadel DLC should have added Wrex romance...

I would ship Wrex and Ashley. I could imagine Ashley being like "Oh my god, they felt so great Wrex." And he's like, "What? I just got it in!"

Ashley hates aliens. Because of that, I left her on Virmire.

And you think it wouldent be the first thing people think about? You sorely misjudged humanity. Our want for porn is endless, Krogan included. Always operate with the assumption that people are freaks. If not, their lying.

Kromancers just want something more than just human... When you're given more options, you're more open'd to other things. Still disappointed because of no Wrex Romance.........

Do you think he would have been able to unseat Garrus as the fanbase's favorite bro?
Back when ME1 was first released he seemed to be the fan favorite.
Ok ok on topic: the one variable in this hypothetical is the vast improvement in Garrus's character writing from ME1 to ME2 (and 3). So even if Wrex remained a squadmate it's still possible Garrus would be the favorite by the end of ME2, or at least gain a lot of ground since ME1.

edit: Besides that, Wrex is like 700 years old? There's all this potential for him to be someone who teaches some lessons from the past. Garrus and Shep are peers - and Garrus only that in 3. He's living in Shep's shadow at first.

Wrex will always be my preference simply because I think my Shepard can relate more to Krogan.. That whole deal with them being thrust center stage in the galaxy, and then used by the Council - Humanity has to watch out for that as well. They're both outsider races. Not insiders. Garrus has a whole other backstory that's cool, but harder for me to relate to (red tape, and wanting to redeem the Turian name from guys like Saren). He's still cool, but I don't see the "bro" thing here, personally.

Wrex is definitely my type for my Shepard!

How is it racist? I'm making fun of fellow humans. Unfortunately.

Personally, I think Wrex and Eve make a good couple. It made me happy when Wrex told my Shepard, who cured the genophage, that Eve was already pregnant and they were talking about what to name the baby.
Yeah, it really depends on the Shepard. Mine can all relate to being frustrated by the red tape, with the Council and Alliance making their mission harder than it should be. It's also possible to relate with Garrus wanting to redeem people's impression of the turians - except, in Shepard's case, it's their impression of the Spectres. But my main Shepard has way too much in common with Saren for that. She relates well with Garrus because they mostly agree about things, like breaking the rules to get the job done, killing Saleon (she even told him to remember the good feeling that came from killing him), and she was glad to help him get his revenge on Sidonis.StreetMagic wrote...

MainShep is very close friends with both Garrus and Wrex. They were always on her squad in ME1.

Very true. Good point. He mostly just acts like "Garrus". Not "Garrus the Turian".

Is true in Mass Effect 2 onward. In Mass Effect, Garrus was on a quest to stop Saren because the rogue Spectre was a disgrace to his people, and he had quite a bit of confrontational dialogue with Wrex.

I am ok with how it all turned out since we got Grunt as a team mate. Only thing better than a Krogan is two Krogan.
