...a kitten dies.

I know, because I punched it.

Think of the kittens, please.

For the love of Dog, Bioware, stop ****footing with this "monogendered" crap.  No pun intended.

Sorry, I read Casey Hudson's ridiculous cowardly comment that "There were no female / female romances in ME1" and it just pissed me off.  Yes, technically that is correct thanks to the lore bending over backwards to accomodate your heteronormality.

But you know why no one would ever refer to Liara as "him" or "his" or even "it"?  It's because there is a blatantly obvious difference between gender and sex from every cultural, anthropological, and ethnographic perspective in the world.  Liara is a woman.  End of story.  You know it, I know it, we all know it.  You guys put two women in the same room and they had sex.

Deal with it.

Yes they are women codex says asari are women so in game they are an all female race.

Unless that changes in ME2 they are women. They can say they are not but they labled them as so.

So one kitten died?

Meh.

Casey's comment was a hodgepodge of half information and badly worded to boot. He basically left a loophole for anything. Which might have been intended.

Don't worry about it....ME2 only has proper heterosexual romances...as it should be. This is the single greatest improvement from ME1 to ME2. Maybe BioWare is finally learning how to make proper relationships in games now.

The thing I find weird about it is that DA:O has M/M and F/F romances but in ME2 it's suddently a problem.

Spoken like a true hater. There is nothing more or less proper about gay romances than there are about heterosexual.
If there are only hetero romances in ME2 it speaks only of BioWare's moral cowardice.

He was asked, specifically, about "female/female" romances and went specifically out of his way to clarify that, exact quote, "there were no female/female romances." There's really not a whole lot of different ways you can interpret that, and even if you did somehow, it still comes across as not having the balls to commit to what they did in ME1, and a bit offensive on top of that.

Because that past never happened, and this future might someday be true!
Gosh, they might give off the vibe that homosexuality is common in times to come!

Personally, I don't really get it. Nor am I bothered with it but I can see why some people would mind.
Or... what if the voice actors didn't want to go along with it?

wait till it says so in ME2

ME1 still says Asari are an all female race.

So gotta wait.

BESIDES why do you need him to tell you whether or not its female or not?

The game he helped create says so.

i can sell you a banana and tell you later it was really and apple are you gonna believe me?

Asaris are hermaphrodites there is no female or male. The reason they have a female anatomie is because they bear children mammalian style.

How is a homosexual relationship not proper?

I really don't care that much about what they put into ME2 -- they're not beholden to put homosexual romances in every single game of the series, after all -- but that they would backpeddle over an established homosexual romance is ridiculous. There's no other way to say it.

Face it, you guys put some gays in your game. It's a little late to be regretting it, don't you think.

Asari are not hermaphrodites, they are biologically female.

Because not everyone is so narrow-minded that they'd disapprove same sex relationships? Besides it's actually quite likely that homosexuality will be more common in the future. =]

I need to boot ME1 again, didn't play it for some time but i am damn sure they can recieve children through a chemical reaction in their brain, so basicly they concieve themselfs.

Why not go for some extra sleep and dream your playing the game?
it seems that asari change thier mind or genes with thier partners.
*they need a partner whether human or asari*
Asari and asari is frowned upon because of thier culture of adding to thier species or something
they can not reproduce on their own. From what i understand Liara although PURE asari had 2 parents 2 Asaris.

You're talking about gender.  I'm talking about sex.

No one in the world thinks of the Asari as sexless.  They are all obviously women.  To try and get around the sexual implications of that with "Oh, well, see, they're monogendered so they're obviously not!" is practically comical and embarrassing to watch.  Let's talk about "monogendered" when we see a deep-voiced, flat-chested Asari with a five-o-clock shadow, and not before.
