I would like to hear everyone's opinions on what the inquisitor was doing at the conference pre-veil tear, and their motivations. I'd find it appealing if you were actually working for the big bad and helped set off the magic bomb/veil tear. Then either memory loss occurs(and you unknowingly seek vengeance upon your former employer), or you seek revenge for being used as a disposable pawn. What other scenarios would you like to see?

I suspect you'll be relatively unimportant compared to everyone else there, perhaps simply being part of the entorage of someone or whatever. EDIT: Based on your Origin
I think it'll be the simple act of surviving what happens there that makes people pay attention to you.

Maybe that is where we get the inquisitor job?

I suspect that it will change depending on your race/class combo. Some might just be in town for reasons entirely unrelated to the conference.

How do we know that inquisitor will be at conference not just in random village where veil was torn when he was buying his sweetroll and demons stole it and now he seeks revenge and want his sweetroll back?I only heard rumors about conference not that inquisitor will be part of it.

Do we know that they are actually going with everything from the Survey? Has the Conference actually been confirmed as current?

Nothing from the survey has ever been confirmed, and stuff about the possible companions or character that were in the leak either don't exist anymore or have significantly changed so it's very doubtful that anything from the leak is still the same.

One of the reasons why we are made the inquisitor is due to us seeing everything that lead up to the veil tear and the only survivor of it, it's unknown where it happens, what the circumstances of us being wherever the veil tears and and no it's not where we get the job that happens later, the veil tear starts the game.

Your ex-spouse is actually who is invited, you are there to meet her at the "after party" and perhaps spend the winter holidays with her/him and your children after the party. You were in her office squeezing and squishing your bare toes into her plush carpet to help relax when the everything went to hell. ;-)

I hope he's just a random bodyguard. Something lackluster, makes the climb to power even better. Started from the bottom now we here. :P

Should depend on race... like an "origin", maybe.

If you are a Circle mage (human or elf), although an Elf mage might be Dalish, you might be one of the first enchanters or a senior enchanter sent to delegate on behalf of the mages. I have no idea what a Tal-Vashoth mage, rogue, or warrior would be necessarily doing at a peace conference.

The way I see the qunari origin is that you arrive at the city where the veil is torn and the chantry is about to execute you for blasphemy against the maker. (Ik your not following the qun it was confirmed but maybe the chantry is just accusing all qunari/Tal-Vashoth)

Well no matter what race or class you are, you'll be a prisoner in rags being transported with a bunch of mage rebels (who foolishly thought up a uniform for their group and are all wearing it) to the closest town for execution. This happens to be the town where the peace conference is held. Bad timing having an execution on the same day as a peace conference, but the mage leader DID use a power like magic to murder his king and (attempt to) usurp his throne! A priest tries to bless you in the name of Andraste as she commends your souls to the fade, but the mage rebels tell her off and the rad chopping begins. Just when you think all is lost and it's your head on the block, the veil tears and demons appear and start killing everyone. You slink away through an underground tunnel and everyone assumes you must have been a badass for surviving and you are named inquisitor.
