Personaly I'm just testing the waters with certain characters in my story. I've already done playthroughs before to ME2 and the countless ME1 saves, but I lost them on my xbox, so I don't count them. Those did help me form Shepard's personality into the way I play him now.
After those personality test saves, I began basically a LI testing save which has taken up most of my saves for the time being. I've tried Liara, Ashley, Tali, and Miranda. I quit Liara on ME2, Ashley at the start of ME3, Tali on ME3 (Had to get to that part first), and Miranada on ME2.
My fifth playthrough, which was actually my first, was a non LI Shepard. The sixth, which I'm doing now, is a Jack save.
I personaly like my no LI Shepard the most by far because I find the romances a bit cheesy and that's just not for me. Plus, it makes my Shepard a bit more awesome when the answer to why he does what he does is "I'm just looking for one hell of a time!". Doesn't have any cause, because it's just cause. If Bioware didn't force Shepard to be an Alliance dog, he would be a space cowboy, or whatever term would best fit. Probably would keep the Spectre title to get away with things though too, but take the term "Spectre" a bit more seriously and not go around parading he was one. Though that's just how I play Shepard's personality and so far the LI route just doesn't fit it.
It could change if Jack doesn't turn out too cheesy for me.
I also plan on doing a non persuasive Shepard with the same personality as above. Also want to try a femshep playthrough just to see how it is, just maybe with some personality tweaks.
So, how many have you done and why? Plan on doing more like me?
