First of: This is no Tali-Love thread, nor a thread where you're supposed to discredit her, just stick to the topic I'll prompt below.

"You are hereby found guilty for treason against the quarian people and sentenced to exile. [,,,] Farewell, Tali'zorah vas Normandy."

I've looked at this part of the trailers a couple of times an every time asked myself: Why? Why should Tali, who was loyal to her people since ME, now suddenly betray the quarians. What could have happened?

I've two theories, both not very satisfying, as i have to say, but here they are:

1. Tali is exiled, because she wants to board the Normandy, thus leaving the Quarian fleet for some time, or even forever, since Shep is going to go on a suicide-mission. I assume at this point, Tali got herself a somewhat important position within the fleet, considering she got the Geth-Data from Shepard and her also taking into account her abilities as a technician. Therefore she'd be a great loss to the fleet, if she attends Shepard. However, there's no reason to exile her and made her being a loss regardless of the question whether she returns or not.

2. Tali revealed something to Shepard during their first encounter within ME2, that she shouldn't in the trailer, she seems to command a quarian squad, maybe even black ops. However, this is merely an assumption without any hard prove.

Greetings,
Ryu Kazuha

Too many protests of Talimancers that she couldn't stay on the flotilla or it would suffer an "accident".

They could sell her to the Talimancers and buy a NEW planet!

Talimancers commited mass suicide over the fact that she wasn't romancable in ME1. The flotilla didn't want to have any more deaths on their hands.

Couldn't you have at least waited for one legit post before you started derailing the thread?

Honestly, I've pondered this as well. She seemed to be incredibly loyal to her people in ME1, so you would think that her helping to rid the galaxy of Saren and saving all organic life would be rewarded by mass approval. So, what did she do? Most likely it took place in ME1. Could it be that she didn't bring anything of importance back to her people? Possibly.

I think I actually heard the explanation for this somewhere, but I can't remember where. I believe it has to do with Shepard encountering her at the beginning of the game. Apparently she lets him leave with some important information and the rest of the quarians have an issue with that, perhaps because of his new association with Cerberus. If you have read Ascension you'll know what I mean.

Most likely because she freely gave the footage of the Freedom's Hope colony being abducted to Cerberus and since that was Quarian property and they hate Cerberus, even with the efforts she has done.

They've booted her.

EDIT: Beaten by the second. :bandit:

Tali accidentally referred to the Geth as Cylons, the flotilla could not stand this 4th wall revelation of their very existance as derivative, and threw her out.

You have to understand that to most people Saren was merely a terrorist and the Reapers are still not publicly known. I doubt the Flotilla would praise her that much for helping stop Saren as it does not - so they probably think - affect them in any way.

Also if you *spoilers* gave her the geth data she has something valuable to her people so I don't think that's it *end spoilers*.

But I don't think anyone here knows why she is exiled. We will find out. Though the above explanation makes sense.

Some advice to the ones that want to discuss the topic: Ignore the trolls. I may consider anyone who gets in a fight with the trolls a troll himself.

and thanks to that who share their thoughts. ^^

In Mass Effect, Ascension, the Quarians were researching attempting to find one of the Reapers because they think it's just a sort of super-powerful warship that can be used to control the Geth. Tali might go nuts trying to stop that.

Justifiably so.

Who can say what sort of crazy laws govern a group of gypsies floating through the galaxy in antiquated spacecraft? If I had to venture a guess I am leaning towards being tossed out for a debacle with the mission she was leading when Shepard and her first meet in ME2

You can probably make some decisions here, since it's a hearing and you plead her case. So if you have evidence that supports Tali she won't be exiled, she simply joins you.

That's actually pretty likely. One of the previews had them knowing about Cerberus. It's quite possible that just working with people who were linked to Cerberus is enough.

Do we know that exile is the only result of the "trial" or just one possible outcome?
