ME3 Praetorians are broken. They are fast moving Atlases with super fast, almost unavoidable magnet sync-kill, wall piercing buttlazers, make no sound most of the time, can get possessed for more hitpoints and block almost every power while flying. (for some weird reason Reave and DC get trough)
ME2 Praetorians were much better balanced and much scarier.
ME3 Praetorians are so ridiculously broken that it makes me wonder did BW just decide to say F*** you to the players when they added them. Collectors in general are super buggy and incredibly unbalanced and the Praetorians are just the icing on the cheesy cake.

I don't think anybody here is actually calling ME2 easier.
We're saying the Praetorian was easier because it was very predictable and very easy to kite.
I've not really found boss fights in Mass Effect SP to ever be that difficult, even on insanity.
This. The very first time you encounter the Praetorian on Horizon it can be called tough but once you realise you can just walk calmy around the comm tower and back away every 1/4 of his armour for his death choir (that fraction might be wrong but he pretty much signals that he's going to do anyways...) remembering to call your idiotic teammates back with you it becomes more of a lesson in patience. One that is significantly shorter with the Collector Particle Beam... By the time the 2nd Praetorian comes around you should know how to dispatch him with ease..

I have. The end boss of the Citadel DLC.
Must've died over 20 times on that one before I decided to redo the entire DLC, but with Energy Drain as bonus power.
After that I only died about five times before I succeeded.
Hardest fight in the entire series, imho.

I'd say the toughest was Citadel Arena Mirror Match, as it was basically multiple end bosses at once.
I did manage it on my Vanguard with full debuffs + no squadmates using the Wraith and Talon, though.
dat stunlock. It makes the Geth look like child's play.

I played through ME 2 several times so I guess the latter must be true. I always found them to be easy by just kiting them in a circle. I remember on Horizon there was a truck with crates you could go circles around and just wear it down. On the collector ship there was a ridge you could lead it around. They were tougher as in they took longer to take down because of more health, but the AI was easy to exploit.

I did with an Infiltrator Shep fairly easily on Insanity. The mirror match is the only thing in the SP that I found even remotely challenging, even on Insanity, after getting used to the MP. The rest of the game has become so easy it's a joke.Cyonan wrote...

We're saying that is was easier, not weaker. Fighting the praetorian on sp was not difficult regardless of gameplay settings, but it may have had higher stats than the me3 praetorians. The differentiating factor is that you have to fight multiple praetorians, and usually a couple scions, simultaneously in me3. Hence the inverse ninja rule I edited into my first post.

It had more relative health due to regenerating every 25% armour, but I'd say the ME3 one still does more relative damage.

It becomes hilariously easy if you use the pre-nerf Krysae that you get in SP, along with that pre-nerf TC =P

They're all different colours, but have the exact same effect and damage.
Also, possessed Abominations destroy the entire map when detonating.

PrayMax-ME3 just has more flaws and we see them all the time.
PrayMax-ME2, there were only two and they were mostly just a damage sink. Whittle, whittle. Whittle, whittle. Dead.

I have done playthroughs from ME to ME3 with every sex for each class, each romance (with in each class) as well as both renegade and paragon play throughs for each of those characters. Also have all endings for each of those characters.
Is that enough for you?

Go back and play ME2. When you get to the Praetorian fight on Horizon, this is what you do. Stick you squad in cover somewhere, like in the truck bed on the left side near the entrance. Now head over to the trucks on the left side near the control terminal and near the catwalk with the medi-gel. Now just circle around the trucks as it chases you, always keeping the trucks in between you and it. You never have to fire a single shot if you don't want to. Your team will kill it and you will never be shot.
THIS is why people are saying the ME3 Praetorian is much harder.
