Will it look as good as Battlefield 4 even though I don't play BF4?

Ooh, and also, is this the new Protagonist for the new Mass Effect?

It's been confirmed that it is being developed using FrostBite3 engine. So there's no "if" about it. Seeing as how it's coming out no earlier than a year and a half after BF4 has been out, its a foregone conclusion that it will look better than BF4.

I'm gonna go ahead and say "no", that isn't the next protagonist. Seeing as how "Unreal" is right in the bottom left corner of the image, and the next game is built with FrostBite....it probably has nothing to do with Mass Effect whatsoever.

About the graphics there is a chance that will be similar but better i think not, depends how much work the devs put on this, DICE has already a solid base with graphics on The Frostbite (3?) so their job is more easy.

The model in the photo is fan made using the Unreal Engine 3 on some competition that happened if remember righ

Considering MEU's stylized graphics I think it's going to look as good as BF4 but more vibrant and flashy... and spherical. Ooo I do love me some spherical lightning which looked so gorgeous in ME3.

Bump.

Frostbite3 will be a good face lift and I have played BF4 some. If you have played CryENGINE 3, it is fairly similar. BF4-FB3 has some problems to work out, but they should be long resolved by the time ME4 hits the streets. My favorite part of FB3 are the sets you can make. I'm more sniper school and I appreciate the better lighting, coverage, the fact that a cannon can take out a wall and that you can high-center a tank and screw-up in all sort of ways. The NPCs in single-player were somewhat smarter- but that's up to the programmers. I expect a less forgiving environment.

I think it's a nice step forward. However, I think by the time MENext comes out, I think the real draw will still be the storylines and decision paths that make Bioware games what they are.

New engine - entire graphical stuff is designed from scratch so hopefully we won't even see any retro-fit crappy models from ME1-ME3.

ME3 was a good game, but graphics looked so old and reused from previous games, that it sometimes hurt my eyes...

So we play as Ben Affleck in the next Mass Effect if that picture is true?

Here are some BF4 samples that might give you an idea- try not to read too much into it: (i.e. no Shepards here)

As long as they put the work and time into it (hehe..), 'ME4' has the potential to actually turn that awesome Mass Effect concept art into much more of a reality.

That's what this engine means. That when there's corner cutting, it won't be allowed to be waved off anymore. The engine supports it, the tech/consoles support it, and the artists are there to create it. A 'Tali's face' scenario should never happen (even in ME3 most people can at least STOMACH a 'we ran out of time' idea about it, but not the next game).

DA:I doesn't look anywhere near as good and considering it's also on FB3 I really don't think that's what you should expect from an early next-gen game from Bioware. DA:I looks about as good a pretty PS3 game but with next-gen polish, like cinematic DOF, SSAO and and some pretty ambient lighting effects. Polygon wise it does not look next-gen a whole lot.

ME3 has a pretty good track record when it comes to polygon counts though and ME3 still makes me want to lick my screen because it's a very pretty game, when it looks best.

DA:I *IS* a PS3 game. Also 360. It's not going to look at good as what will later come with this gen.

I'm waiting to see if 'ME4' will be cross gen or exclusively PS4/XB1. If it is exclusive, I'm going to have higher standards than the very good but not fantastic stuff I'm seeing from DA:I so far.

I would too, but that may be what the cinematic rendering looks like.  Ryse is a Crytek product- and I think they have been ahead of the game since Crysis 2.  Use an uber-$$$-GPU to get it right.

Well, maybe in a couple of years ....

No, it's a fan creation.
