 So ive been noticing how everyone mentions the frames being unplayable on platinum for the ps3. Is it worth the risk to play plat? or would i be better off filling my manifest with gold?

I wouldn't know....Too much tinfoil....and when I plat I always have friends spectres carrying me. Otherwise I'd MG to extraction.....

It depends on how fast you can finish Plat really. If you can speed run Glacier Plat under 20 then of course go with it.

Make sure the map is not set to any Hazard except White, avoid Goddess at all costs, Jade, Rio and London are not recommended either. If you get Hazard Ghost just rage quit.

Did I mention not to play Collectors if you don't want freeze?

I never really get the frame rate loss as bad as others seem to on plat so I don't know on that, OP. You'd have to try it and judge yourself. Granted, if you've been playing for a while and/or get some certain maps/collectors you can probably expect to have a bit of an FPS drop.

Had to leave a plat game yesterday because the frames drastically dropped. Felt bad for my pugs, who had to start the wave over but whatever.

Just don't play on any fun maps and you'll be ok.

On Platinum the Collectors don't seem to be a problem for my PS3 because there are other enemy units in it. I've been playing Platinum pugs (different maps/enemy settings) for hours in the past without any freeze to happen. And yesterday I started with a Gold match against Reapers on FB White and guess what - PS3 freeze at wave 2!! It's @!%* strange how this game sometimes behaves on PS3, from my experience you can't really predict when it's the most likely that a freeze will going to happen.

I have no frames in the first game. Gold or plat. The less people, the less frame bs you'll get in my experience. That's why I prefer a not full lobby(besides it beeing also more fun), unless friends. Gold is more fun too and pugging plat is 99% reapers, rio, giant, flamer poopers and fuggly vorchas, herberus carriers, reeturds crutchbines, melee all the things puggernauts, support volus etc.  All the same, boring as fvck.

Pretty much what Dida said. As for frames, Platinum's not bad as long as you restart your PS3 every few games. See the second link in my sig.

It's not Platinum, it's Collectors and Hazard maps.

Platinum will 'cause you to have a memory leak after prolonged play faster than Gold will, but you really only need to worry about Collectors and Hazard maps.

That's not really a fix FoP.. it involves not playing parts of the game.. I guess I'll just be bitter about this bs until the end. Anyway..

OT: There are many factors, even coming down to which kits/weapons are used.. in my experience the original maps against the original factions (on platinum) might even allow you to finish an entire session without having to reboot. Sounds amazing, huh?! Oh no? You think that's how the game should work already? Yeah... me too.

Hence the quotation marks around "fix". Since there is no real fix coming, avoiding certain combinations and resetting every so often is the best we can do.

Oh that's what its called. I get the frame skip on all games... that is when the game randomly pauses for a second and it causes your aim to go off right?
