I apologize. I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death before, but... after getting Anders's approval to 95 though his personal quest, his approval status changed to "Love". Is the "Friendly" descriptor even in Awakening?

If you haven't engaged in any romantic or sexual options with him, then he's not really in love with you. Even in Origins, the word "love" was used to refer to very high approval.

Awakenings approval status is one of those buggy things they never repaired with any of the patches. I don't think it matters much, they don't respond like they are in love, it doesn't change any dialogues or anything, but both Anders and Justice thought they 'loved' my Warden, and Nathaniel, (the only companion I would have romanced had it been an option in DAOA) was stuck on 'warm' all through the game, even though I did his companion quest early on.
