 When you talk to Matriarch Aethyta on the Citadel she goes on to tell you that she's Liara's "father" so she mentions Benezia, says she's Liara's mother.

Then Shepard breaks in and says "Liara isn't her mother!"

Did I miss something here? Is this just bad scripting?

Yeah I know that, but Shepard says "Liara isn't her mother" referencing to Benezia in autodialogue, and then if you get Liara to talk to Aethyta she says "I'm not my mother".

I'm so confused right now.

Okay, okay, I was being a moron when I said it was sh*tty. For one english is not my native language but I fare ok well in it (or so I thought xD)

I laughed when I realised how simple it was and I wrote "sh*tty writing" in pure frustration :-P It's a very common figure of speech but somehow it just flew completely over my head at this one particular moment and I took it literally as in "Liara is not her (own) mother!". This is embarrasing xD
