Just unlocked the Lancer... how to manage the overheating?

The lancer is still a good choice on the Jugg, even though he doesn't get an mag boost, as it prevents him from wasting time crawling to ammo crates.

It's especially good if you fire off siege pulse's in between lancer bursts. to give it a chance to cool.

Use the magazine upgrade and use powers when they are off cooldown. I don't really like the Lancer compared to the CSMG but it is actually very simple to not overheat relative to other similar weapons.

Ext. Clip is a must. Use powers and give the Lancer a moment to cool down.

That's pretty much all I can tell you.

GJ and Batarian passive increase magazine, Destroyer's DM increases the clip. Lancer is an infinite ammo gun, which means it only gets more rounds through clip increasing power like DM or mods.

Evil Mastered is correct. You are probably confusing it with the weapon mod. Geth Jug and BatSol do not get the extra clip size.
