Ive never understood why EA gers the blame. Ive never scene a complaint on this forum that relates to something EA did with ME3. As a matter of fact my most favorite aspects of ME 3 are things EA implemented. Multiplayer, combat, $ for voice actors, $ for hanz zimmer or whatever his name is, they even had dice come in and offer assistance. Meanwhile EVERY complaint i have solely rests on biowares shoulders. Bioware had everything it needed to make an outstanding video game.

Too bad peoPle dont play bioware for their expertise in narrative.

I think the main thing EA deserves blame for is the time constraints. It's obviously rushed, in Priority Earth at least. I can't imagine Bioware actually wanted to reduce so many characters to just cameo roles either. They had to cut corners. At least I hope that's what it was.

Intense disagreements about what/with whom?

*shrugs* Something about different versions of how to interpret Miranda's character lead to bickering and insults. I only know a few people who were involved.

@Tron I think Steel just means that EA is unlikely to let sleeping dogs(or this franchise) lie, specially when they can still milk a profit.

Certainly this should be a given, but that's speaking from the perspective of the 'old-timers', by which I mean people whom BioWare attracted through games like Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Knights, KotOR, Jade Empire and Mass Effect.

These were games aimed at a niche market, created by a smaller group people who shared the passions of their audience towards a particular kind of experience.

Let's not overstate this. Bio always wanted to be a big developer rather than a niche outfit, and they've never been all that loyal to whatever the self-proclaimed true RPG fans think are the defining features of the RPG genre. Every couple of years Bio commits some sort of atrocity against the RPG fans, starting when BG2 abolished overland map exploration.

I never said that they meant to remain small, simply that this was the situation at the time. As they became larger, changes occured and for the most part I didn't mind them until their last two outings, which is when I felt a disturbance in the force.

I'm not saying they shouldn't change, just that certain fans, like perhaps me, will at some point no longer get what they expect. This is how things go.

It's their particular corporate culture. They don't influence the creative process directly, but through the way they operate on the whole, which creates a domino effect that trickles all the way down from the top.

They are not to blamed really.

I may comment on them in a negative way but that doesn't necessarily mean I blame them for something or other, it would be like blaming lions for hunting buffalo. I may not like the lions, but that's nature.

The suicide mission where everyone can die pretty much guaranteed that. Did you really not see that coming, people?

Yes. We have gone over this before Street. Hopefully it is a lesson BW learned well. That quote you attibuted to Casey Hudson (?) indicates they screwed the pooch on that one and they know it.

Well, I had this whole detailed metaphor of Miranda's and Shepard's relationship being like a thermonuclear fusion reaction that I can't find now because those posts aren't forum posts... and the Miranda Group threads are just too big to search through manually.

I really don't understand why BW has to cannonize anything about the ME3 ending. Since when has BW shown any concern for consistency, continuity, or logic in the ME series?

It really would be in everyone's interest if they avoided the whole thing.

Well, except the people who just so happen to have playthroughs that are "canon".

Holy...
I just read it. Wow. I brought up Miranda's decision on the Collector Base as an off hand comment, I didn't realise this was something that resulted in a damned schism back then.
I was aware people were divided on liking or disliking Miranda, I didn't know people were this divided on how to like or dislike her. And most of this garbage sounds like it could be resolved by just accepting Miranda as a dynamic character.

That's why I said the "Purple Ending". Sweep the tri-colors under the rug and pretend they never happened in the first place. Pull another ending that makes a semblance of nonsense out of their arses. Hell, say the Quarians and Geth kissed and made up and the Geth helped the Quarians modify that weapon of theirs to work against the Reapers and that the Quarians blew up the reapers and saved the galaxy, and that if it wasn't for Geth and Quarian working together we'd have all been doomed. There done. End of Shepard's story. Not heroic enough for David, but Tali'Zorah was the most heroic character in the entire story anyway simply because without her irrefutable evidence the galaxy would have been hosed in ME1. So in this ending everyone is unhappy because their Shepard wasn't the hero. Big deal. Build statues of Tali'Zorah and Legion on the Citadel. Okay?

Rebuild + 50 years. Next story.

Tali can't be the hero of the story because she's not human.
Sorry guys, science fiction is racist.

Well, most of BSN anyway. I was lucky that like most fans I liked garrus and romanced Liara. On BSN however, I feel like I'm in the minority. But that doesn't mean I don't think that both of them got more content at the expense of other characters. It was a let down to all the fans who had different character preferences and I understand their anger. I actually wanted to see more content for the VS, along with most of the ME2 squad.

Tali is quite heroic in the Homeworld comic (takes place before the time she met Shepard and co). Gave me new respect for what she did.
