Scorecard postings I find to be distasteful because they are usually at the expense of others.
I disagree. Most of the time, people will conceal the name tags of the other players when posting scorecards. What's so distasteful about wanting to share an unusually high score? I don't see how that's different to posting about a platinum solo. Both are equally uncommon 'accomplishments', but you treat them as if they're completely dissimilar.
Okay, I will, for once, give in to the temptation and will try to reason with you while I wait for Origin to up(down)date.
The difference is that solos are only depending on your skill, and luck which is always a factor.
A team score is dependent on those two factors, but even more on how much the other 3 players suck. So a single pugging scoreboard pic is a completely stupid way to gauge someone's skill.
I hope that's clear enough, cause I won't enter a discussion on this matter.

There's where you're wrong soloing Platinum is an accomplishment outscoring a bunch of players, who may or may not suck, is not.XFG-65 wrote...

It's not even just that. It's about who can kill small enemies the fastest.Deerber wrote...

Hell I can spam Cain mines and outscore players who are much better than me. No matter how skilled you are you cannot beat 5-6K damage per cast.

Of course it's a stupid way of measuring skill, but then again, the whole purpose is not to showcase one's own skill, but rather to show people something that's rare.

In most cases with ME3, however, I just laugh when people try to brag or act like it's a big deal that they can kill predictable and easily manipulated bots efficiently.
Edit: as for recognition, I think the only people worthy of that are the people who have gathered all the data/statistics that help people make their builds and understand the game better, or have otherwise benefited the community somehow with guides or something.

Ah...I see it now...you're still rattled after Panda's 460k thread...lol.
That's like saying "I can put on a Javelin and headshot enemies and top the scoreboard".

The line is the instigator, though. If you're showing off your score, it's epeen. If your score fits into a larger picture somehow, it's recognition.
If you wanted to give someone tips on soloing platinum, for example, having a platinum solo score could be useful.

I agree with your point to a degree but sometimes you have to prove you're a decent player for you ideas/builds to warrant merit amongst the community.Tokenusername wrote...

Panda is a great player and yeah I didn't really like the thread he posted as far as content because I think it diminishes him on the forum, I made that known in that very thread. I recognize him as a great player because of the opinions of those who I consider exceptional at this game telling me that not the scorecard with a bunch of substandard players.
