What was your turning point? (When did you L2P?)

I didn't branch out much until I saw Spec7er's Cerberus/Reactor/Gold solo with the Claymore GI. It taught me to look at weapons that others had written off and also to not worry about fitness as much. I started caring less about 200% Cooldown and more about good positioning, offence and survivability.
When I think of the hours spent using Overload headshots on bronze/silver mooks, it makes me wonder if my manifest would be closer to maxed had I branched out earlier.
So did you L2P at a particular moment? Was there a character/weapon/BSNer that was responsible for the change?

Another turning point was probably after beating the campaign on insanity with my Novaguard specced for recharge nova instead of half blast. Taught me to always be on the move with CQC kits, and to kill all the things before they get a chance to kill you.
Now I can at least hold my own in plat, I still die a bit more than most BSN'ers do but I've come a long way, IMHO.

I never looked back, but I'll admit that was around 350 hrs, and I still had my growing pains after that in Gold.

I would say coming to BSN after a few weeks of multiplayer was my turning point, learned good builds, learned how important positioning/moving is, learned some cool tricks (nova/reload cancel) and played with other good players.
this.
I also asked a lot of great players a lot of stupid questions.
I still do, actually.

This too. As many clowns and jokesters as there are on BSN, there are some guys who really know this game inside and out and they've helped me grow as a player tremendously, through their advice and being able to play alongside them and watch how they handle themselves.

Possibly my first Plat extraction with Disciple, which was a few weeks later.

Of course, finding BSN and pugging into a few BSNers helped too.

Well maybe the first time you clutched a wave, or when you used a character you're not as good and still manage to do well?Rotward wrote...

Am I correct in thinking that 'clutched a wave' is finishing the wave after everyone else is dead? I did that for the first time on my n7 destroyer recently.

I've still yet to meet anyone who could yell at pugs the way he did.
