When I stopped using the AJA and started using Shotgun Infiltrators.

Thank you, SpawnHost, for being a better AJA player than I am which spurred me to try other classes.

I've never played AJA since, except for challenges.

I like to headcanon that my AJA (named Moskva) died heroically defending innocents from Reaper forces.

When I was brought into Platinum with my Asari Valkyrie + Avenger.

I did whatever I could to not get myself killed, stayed away from anything big and mostly stayed near the team while they focused on the big things while I watched our surroundings for mooks. lol

Never really learned to play. In fact, I got worse at the game as time passed. Now I only play on bronze. I'm actually quite effective on bronze.

Or maybe when a zombie eats your brain and you've got nowhere else to put all the stuff you learn.

Or maybe when a bullshark bites your head off, because there's nowhere safe to go from a bullshark. They can survive in both salt water and fresh water, after all. Hell, you might go to take a bath, and, guess what? Bullshark was waiting for you. When you least expected it.

Or maybe it was a tiger that got you. I dunno. Or space aliens that require succulent man-brains to power their space ships.

Point is, anything could kill you and devour your delicious brain at any given moment. And the only thing that can bring you redemption is learning all you can about ME3 MP.

I think that's the point, at least.

Interestingly enough, I made the leap to gold (before platinum was around) during the Firebase White/Geth/Gold farming days.  You know, before the geth bomber was around and before they opened up that hallway at the bottom. I was able to slowly adapt to the harder Gold difficulty while having a base to camp at. Eventually I got good enough to where I wouldn't run to the base (and teammates would yell at me) and I'd run around.

In time, I found myself getting to wave 3 before I'd die for the first time. Then, wave 4. Then wave 5. Then I realized that I had 2 or 3 characters that I was good enough with to just start playing all maps on gold and went from there.

I didn't really have a particular moment.. I judt spent a lot of time getting to know the game. What worked for me, what didnt work. Neat little tricks etc. I'm still not nearly as good as most of the people on bsn. But i've come a long way.

I never learned to play. The game needed to learn to play me.

Lol okay, back on topic: I figured out what biotic explosions were, so I started using the asari adept really well in silver and sometimes gold (this was back when there were only vanilla characters).

I probably "mastered" gold (as in, reliably extracted with the team) when I got my Widow and figured out it was great with the salarian infiltrator.

I take a little pride from the fact that I figured these things out before starting to visit BSN. That means I didn't have guides or any second opinions to influence my builds and loadout choices.

Now of course I won't ever play a kit that isn't BSN Guide-approved

Don't know if there was a moment, but it didn't happen much more than a week ago. It took me waaaaay too long to get brave enough to go gold. Now I can finally not die all the time and be effective. For some reason this seems to coincide with my increased consumables capacity and better weapons loadout...<_<
