What does thermal clip storage actually do? The description isn't clear.

It lets you store extra thermal clips, which means extra ammo.

I don't quite understand...isn't that what assault loadout does?

The Hegemony demands more kishock or raider. No cerberus crap allowed!

My typical whaler/kishock build:

kalence.drupalgardens.com/me3-builder#45!5601535!!53U55364!E495G

Or my raider build:

kalence.drupalgardens.com/me3-builder#45!3403525!!53J55314!E495G

Neither have ever let me down.

No, assault loadout gives you 9 thermal clips instead of 6 and boosts damage by 8%. Thermal clip storage boost your max capacity, like the batarian passives.

You really need to play the campaign, or read the wiki. The ammo system that the guns use are called Thermal Clips. Assault Loadout lets you carry more Thermal Clip Packs, which instantly restore all your ammo and up to 10 grenades.

Interesting...
I typically go with a sharpshooter-type build with my BatSent

Blade Armor: rank 6; durability, dmg returned, durability

Shockwave: rank 6; force & dmg, reach, recharge

Submission Net: rank 6; dmg, dmg & slow, shield & barrier

Batarian Enforcer: rank 4; dmg & cap

Fitness: rank 4; durability

Weapons/mods: N7 Valkyrie w/ Extended Barrel V and AR Scope V

I mostly play him as a trapper and supporting sniper. When fighting Cerberus, I play him as a Phantom hunter. I mostly use Submission Net to trap enemies so I can get a clean headshot or two. Against armored enemies, I use it for debuffing and priming Tech Bursts.
In melee combat, I let whoever's hitting get a shot in just for them to receive double the dmg they dealt. When they get staggered, I wind up for a falcon punch and nail them as they recover. I back up to give them some space, then I follow up with Shockwave and open up on them with my Valkyrie.

Beware that blade armor is bugged and deals less damage than you would expect on higher difficulties, and is bad on anything above silver

interesting build and it definatelly works buzt i prefer something like this
kalence.drupalgardens.com/me3-builder#45!3A03565!!24N53364!389AC
you only lose a bit of survivability but gain a lot of offensive potential. you can still get the same harrier wreckage but you can switch it up with some nise explosions ;)

To be invincible (bar synch-kills) chuck on Stronghold Package and a Shield Booster instead... a tonne of shields that begin regenerating in under a second. You basically never have to duck into cover to regenerate shields unless you're hit with a DoT effect.

This is the build I use. (I keeping meaning to change to 6b on SubNet and keep forgetting) I don't like speccing out of shockwave completely, it's useful to stagger things. Doesn't have the greatest damage output but it is pretty fun, and basically unkillable.

Most effective way to play him for sure... Also the most boring way to play him.

Venom or bust. :P

I ran your build after you told it me.. I didn't like it. It was good for enabling subnet on mooks bc of stagger but with Venom AND an anti-armor sidearm AND the cooldown penalty from Blade Armor, his cooldowns were too long, the tech/fire explosions few and far between, and overall deficient vs bosses.

The Harrier Carrier was good in every situation... Probably bc the Harrier is awesome.

Just tried the build.. Cerberus/Jade/Gold... Worked good. Renamed the guy 'Harrier Carrier'. I typically used Barrage gear, but it was nice having 155 spare ammo.

Shouldn't you be focusing on your FF matchup this week ? you know, puishups, hail marys, etc. .. I hear your opponent is pretty tough (and a cool guy too!)

All that matters is that I dispatched Bware of Dware last week... Now it's just Slojack and I atop the mountian.

Look up at my team in awe... B)

Yup, this is also my build. Skipping shockwave is the way to go.

Edited the original build with Assault Loadout for more deeps and bullets.

I run this 5/6/3/6/6 build, but I tried him out as a mobile Harrier turret today, and what do you know, this thread has been bumped.

While I don't think Shockwave is the most amazing power, and there are some issues with it, I still like having the option to detonate combos.  This comes in handy especially if you can get the enemies to funnel through a choke point and an ally is using a good primer power.

He does make a pretty good mobile turret, and 155 spare Harrier ammo is pretty nice.

I find him to be a better/faster tank than the Geth Juggernaut.

Can eat a ton of damage, pretty fast to and from spawns and prehaps more importantly to ammo boxes. Is susceptible to instakills but has a lockdown power in subnet.

I played a variation of this build yesterday on geth/london/platinum, it's amazing how much ammo the harrier holds with the batarian passives and thermal clip storage gear bonus. Very tanky as well, he can really take a lot of punishment.

I would say that is a fair assessment.  Juggernaut is extremely slow, and is annoying for certain objectives especially.
