1. There will be a siege of the Inquisitor's main keep at some point, and we will have to defend it.
2. The veil tears will turn out to be the work of a cult following Corypheus, who is trying to repeat the old experiment and reach the City. Alternatively, it's a rogue Mage faction that's trying to turn everyone into mages. Or, it's all the work of surviving ancient elven mages rising from Arlathan or returning through the Eluvian.
3. The Architect will turn out to be one of the ancient magisters.
4. At some point we'll have to choose between Celene, the rebellious duke whose name I don't remember, and the rebelling elves attempting to reclaim the Dales.
5. Tevinter's will play no direct role and it's unlikely we'll visit any part of it.

Everyone will believe that he is (including the Inquisitor himself, of course), but there will be another survivor. He/she will turn out to be the main antagonist who orchestrated the whole thing.

I am kind of mad about a couple of things. So let me put them in the form of predictions.
I predict neither Morrigan or Flemeth caused the veil tears.
Why ? Think about it.Why would Morrigan or Flemeth caused the veil tears ?
Morrrigan is supposedly in Orlais, working for Celene. She has some degree of power.Power according to Morrigan has meaning. Destroying Thedas does nothing for that.
We know the veil tears will destroy Thedas. The developers have said so. If someone doesn't believe that then it's too bad.Shrugs.
So it makes absolutely no sense for Morrigan to cause the veil tears.
Makes no sense for Flemeth to cause the veil tears either. Flemeth rescued the warden and Alistair from the tower. If she wanted Thedas to be destroyed, all she had to do was to do nothing.
Let the warden and Alistair die. Flemeth could have taken Morrigan and fled to the Free Marches or somewhere else.Ferelden would have been destroyed, Orzammar likely would have been attacked and destroyed, any dalish tribes and the werewolves, in Ferelden if they still existed would have been killed by the darkspawn. The archdemon would have led the darkspawn against Orlais.Maybe Riordan and the Orlesian wardens along with the Orlesian army would have beaten the darkspawn, but maybe not. In any event Ferelden and Orzammar would have fallen. The archdemon might have won.Might.So no need to do anything further until you see if the archdemon can win. If you want Thedas destroyed you give him that chance.
Makes absolutely no sense for Morrigan or Flemeth to have caused the veil tears. And yes that's just my opinion.shrugs.
Prediction number#2:
That EA wants DAI to sell a minimum of 5 million copies and the game will sell at least that many.
Does anybody think that EA would officially come out and say that ? Sheesh.Of course not.
No one at EA would attach their names to anything like that because it puts undue pressure on Bioware. The reason Frank Gibeau has backed off his mandatory multiplayer statements is because it put pressure on Bioware and they don't need that right now. What you see and will see are statements from so called unofficial sources such as a source at EA says or It is reported EA said and that's it.No names. No official statements. It ludicrous and ridiculous for anyone to demand proof EA wants that because there won't be any right now. After the game is released, if it were to fail/be regarded a FAILURE then we'll see more that we can tie back to EA as far as how they feel about it.Much like we're seeing with Dead Space 3:
http://www.videogame...ad_space_3.html
and yes that's partly my opinion, partly from articles I've read online. If players choose to disbelieve/not believe that's fine I don't care.
I hope we can get more news soon so we can have some other things to discuss.<_<<_<

My take/prediction on what old gods and red lyrium really are.

I like Talking animals that aren't really talking animals, like Kitty, I wish there was some way to let her live as a cat for all time.
And if Corypheous is to be believed then Dumat talked to him, So dragons did talk when Thedas was more Tolken like.
mayeb he didnt exaclty talked but comunicated like how archdemons can comunicate with darkspawns...
You mean like a telepathic link? The awakened darkspawn loose the ability to hear an archdemon's song. Which I thought was a state of hypnosis that the archdemon could cast on the darkspawn. So maybe they can communicate to each other through song?
my guess is the archdemon's song is related to lyrium, as lyrium seems to emanate a "sound" perceivable to spirits like justice and red lyrium had a similar effect on bartrand.
So with the information at hand, i'm betting lyrium, especially the red type is closely related to the old gods, i'd even go so far as to say that huge red lyrium veins are in fact an old god in cristalized form, and when a darkspawn comes into contact with its core, an archdemon is created(a darkspawn abomination, soul of an old god with a tainted body).
so what i'm saying is that lyrium is basically spirits/demons/the fade itself in cristalized form, pure magic materialized, making the old gods the same, beings of pure magic.
assuming this is true however raises another question
...why would a being of pure magic residing in the black/golden city want the tevinter magisters intervention?
why would any being from the fade want contact with mortals? the only answer provided by the series is, to go to the other side.
that would mean the old gods were more akin to demons than anything else, at least, in Dumat's case.
So then, what was the cause for the taint's origin if it's existence is also alien to spirits and demons? what was something that was unique about the tevinter magisters attempt that made the taint come to be? something that is a very unnatural occurrence on both realms...
how about, a large mass of mortal flesh that physically traversed into the fade. My bet is that this attempt caused a chain reaction that morphed the flesh and blood together with very fabric of the fade, creating the taint.
anyway this is just my theory.

I don't agree that DAI could be a disaster...but we'll see.I think that the Forbes writer, who said he likes the game thus far, should have looked at some other game to point at as a potential disaster.
Of course wealthy people read Forbes....:innocent:
Don't agree with your theory Cobra, but you're entitled to have it.

I think though it will be more of a simultaneous thing, killing the antagonist and undoing its magic closes the veil tears.

Back on topic.
We did have the kitty and the other demons, including the one we COULD have left possessing Connor or we could have allowed the demon to take him later on, presuming he reached adulthood.
Some of those showed up in DA2.
There are other threads about Connor, I doubt that question will be one the keep asks players to answer.
Do we want to be able to make deals with demons in DAI, if it helps close the veil tears ?

I wanted to predict that we will be made to believe Flemeth is behind The Veil Tears somehow. Maybe through the story of Hawkes interactions with Flemeth that Cassarda was told by Varric. But something will have a hidden Agenda to get rid of Flemeth and we will be directed towards that direction at first when trying to figure out how to stop the Tears in the first place. The something will use us to take out Flemeth for good by manipulating us.

Or maybe there's a secret cult that worships high demons of the Veil, let's call them the Mystic Morning. This cult then assassinated the leader of Tevinter, who somehow kept a magical conflagratory vessel burning called the Wyvern Pyre. Without the Wyvern Pyres lit, the barriers between Thedas and the Veil were weakened, allowing portals to the realm to open all across the continent (possibly the world?), from which forth demons and other monsters spilled fourth to assault the land.
The Inquisition comes in to find the lost heir of the Tevinter Imperium a man called Sartin Meptim, the illigitmate bastard son of the now dead Emperor, Lueri Meptim.

A dragon worshipping cult makes sense.
One would think Flemeth or the now deceased Yevana would have known about them though.

Reading story predictions makes me giggle.
Every now and again, one of them is right--but a broken clock is right twice a day, so... yeah.
My favourites are the times that someone makes a correct prediction, then dozens of people point out that it's probably wrong and the original eventually recants on said prediction.
Alright everyone.
Listen up.
Time to look for people who have made right preditctions, there are very few of them (if we are to take Gaiders comment about a broken clock being right twice a day as a hint to the scarcity of the correct amount of predictions on this thread).
We are then to look for people who point out that other people have been wrong, and the person who had a theory before then going back on their theories.
GOGOGOGOGO
Edit: And here are my own predictions..
Morrigan is working against her mother, considering she seemed really concerned about what her mother is, and what her mother is doing, I'd personally say Flemeth is the one behind this all.
People like to point out that Flemeth can't be the main antagonist because she has helped people in the past, but why would that make it impossible for her to be the person behind all this? She is obviously extremely powerful and intelligent, keeping people she needs alive to orchestrate events and lead them towards the direction she wants makes sense for an extremely well thought-out long-term plan.

These Dark 'Morrigana' will represent secondary/main antagonist throughout the plot, though it will never be fully clear if they have their own agenda, or are in league with the games primary Big Bad. It will however, be very, very dark.
After doing an about-face and converting to chaotic evil The 'Dark Morrigana' will subvert the remaining Templars into a dark army consisting mostly of modified humans, their original human functions enhanced, or replaced with dark magic, which darkly does dark things to their dark minds in a dark manner, replacing organic functions with synthetic ones constructed from red lyrium.
In addition to all the above, it will be revealed that Lord Harrowmont is not really dead.
There will also be many, many, many spiders.

I think Flemeth may have rescued the Warden(s) in DA:O because of the Dark Ritual, i.e. so that the OGB could be conceived with either the Warden / Alistair / Loghain. She wasn't after the destruction of Thedas (not at that point in time anyway).
In DA II, her reasons for saving Hawke are possibly two-fold: (i) so that she could be reborn safely on Sundermount (after Morrigan's attempt to kill her); and (ii) she could have foreseen that Hawke would be the catalyst for the start of the Mage-Templar War.
As to why she wanted the Mage-Templar War to begin? The Mage-Templar War is probably one of the things that is making the veil thinner (increased use of magic by mages against the templars and increased bloodshed), hence allowing Bad Guy to rip it apart at the beginning of DA:I.
As to her reasons for wanting the veil to tear, I haven't got a clue. Flemeth is one of the greatest mysteries of the Dragon Age franchise.

Maybe it will cause spirits to enter the world, sure... but what if that's what someone wants? A world where there is no boundary between Mundus and the Fade? Sure, lots of humans will die in the process, but if it is someone like Irving, who believed a human/demon abomination was the pinnacle of evolution, then having everyone be abominations would be a worthy goal, instead of everyone just dead.

DAI's main antagonist will, among other things, be concerned with controlling the Darkspawn. It was the Architect's goal to make them independent from external control, and if he's alive, this will be to our advantage.

If Alistair is dead however, there will be another "default" son of Maric and Fiona. Sort of like how there were default characters in Mass Effect if the origional one died in the previous game.
Meaning, there will always be a Theirin pretender or king no matter what.
This explains why they never explicitly said the name "Alistair" in the Calling. They want to keep the door open for people who killed off Alistair.

No, that Flemeth helped both the Warden and Hawke in the past doesn't make it impossible that she's is behind it all, but it makes it less probable. The only scenario I can imagine for that is that the Fifth Blight needed to end with the archdemon dead in order to make the Veil tears and whatever they're for possible. Since archdemons are hardly unique and there are still two left, I think that's rather unlikely.
Unlikely Flemeth or Morrigan is behind it.
Some players want them to be behind it, either one of them or both of them because some players want to kill Morrigan and Flemeth and feel they need that as an excuse.:innocent:

"Also... who says the Veil Tears will cause the destruction of Thedas?'
