I'm not sure I actually believe that, I think I'm taking the contrarian approach to this thread just to talk about it.

Though making a lobby and taking whoever joins into platinum can make for an interesting game.
Still easier than soloing. AND more fun.

I think it's just a fundamentally different set of strategies. People who are used to soloing, know the spawns and how to control them, are going to have an easier time with that. I have a reasonable knowledge of where the spawns are on most maps, but I certainly don't go around trying to control them.
The only things that I would say is worse with a bad team are 4 devices with a team that doesn't know how to draw aggro away from you, and the extraction round on Glacier. Way too easy to turn the entire map into a cluster**** on that one.

Sheesh. I know picking on pugs is fashionable and all, but this is getting silly. Go play with you e-peen, elitists.
I can't even remember the last time I didn't extract on plat pug. Seriously.
I am actually not trying to be an elitist...I listed alot of stories where other ppl were dragging me down, but playing pugs tends to drag me down as well. In fact, I have been the scrub being carried a few times (sadly even on gold).
Frankly, the lack of any sort of strategy or game-plan is what throws me off, and makes me feel like a noob as well. I have had pugs where I just could not stay alive because of how much I had to compromise my own playing to help team mates. It is just distressing and confusing that I could extract solo on plat and yet my pugging exp has been so disasterous.
I made this thread to ask, legitimately, who else feels that soloing is easier than dealing with lag and chaos. There were a few. That makes me feel better =)
If you read this thread as "well I can do it solo so you guys must be the problem" then you read it wrong. I accept that my inability to adapt properly to the actions of my team mates is partially the problem.
If anyone was interested, I did Giant/Cerb with the Slayer. I have a hard time seeing how the Slayer can be viable off-host, so I rarely pug with him. =/
P.S. I had better luck with him than supposed "Crutch Classes" like the TGI, AIU or AcoFlameTrooper. Slayer is amazing for solos =D

R U Srs?!
Dude for real I pray to god everyone in the lobby outscores me every game every time. No joke!!!
The way the random lobbies been treating me lately (not all, have landed in a few damn good lobbies, a few mind you only a few) I welcome it wholeheartedly.

Generally the three other people are bad.
I'm admittedly the worst when in a lobby of other BSNers.

I've found three things help me pug
1 If you sacrifice yourself for somebody who is worse than you, you should not be surprised when you loose
2 No complex plan is required, you just need to not die while killing the largest number of things possible
3 Selfishness has it's place, and screwing somebody else in the name of survival is worth it if you win
When people who are good at the game die pointless deaths to help somebody live for a few seconds only to die again then games go bad fast, you don't need to save everyone, only ensure that one of you survives long enough to kill everything else
And all classes become equally crippled by lag, some require more extreme countermeasures, but all are doable,
I spend the first wave testing the lag, and learning how far ahead to aim for things to hit, you CANNOT play as if there is no lag, aiming between an enemies eyes is all good with no lag, if the lag gets bad aim for center of mass, if is worse then you have to predict the enemies location in one second, and aim for that, If you have aoe forget even aiming at them and shoot the floor where they stand, if the lag is greater than one second then forget it and find a new host

I've still never extracted on a plat pug, though that's mostly because I get in game and there's a missile glitcher or some other nonsense.

LOL. I actually like it when I have help in the game. I could give a damn about score any more. If someone is using a flamer build and I'm using something stupid they should outscore me. That said I can't remember a pug that wasn't a BSNer ever outscore me like that. It's kind of rare that I play powerhouse builds anymore that max DPS though.Yo Son wrote...

I'm trying to cover my bases here. I'm tired of being called an elitist. It's made people afraid to play with me and I don't like that.
Also, I appreciate the effort.

So much this. My best games these days are games where we cruise through a game in 15 minutes because the team works together so well. Usually everyone's bunched up together in score, or there's one player who primed the most, usually a Paladin or AIU using Snap Freeze, and I'm content to Chain Overload everything in sight if it means a quick fun game.
Also, Nuke I play powerhouse kits when we play together and you still outscore me, stahp.

- It's extremely tough (almost impossible) to complete a hack by yourself in a 4 player game when the rest of the team dies right at the start of the wave. Especially if it's a wave 10 hack on platinum.
- It's really tough to complete device activations when the pugs are sabotaging your mission by hanging around the device and dying repeatedly. When they eventually bleed out, you won't have enough time to kite the enemies or to complete the devices, the timer will run out and you'll fail. Especially wave 10 devices on London on platinum, or Glacier.
These two things happen to me very commonly when playing with pugs, and it's almost impossible to complete the match in these two situations, it would be easier to solo for sure.

I'm pretty sure I qualify as a PuG-level player on Platinum. While I can't measure up to the standard of BSN effulgence, I do often draw fire away from the legitimate players gracing the battlefield with the imprint of their feet, thereby accelerating the rate at which they make kills.
lol not warranted.
Nice GRE?/SAT? word though.
This thread is not about how much puggers suck... At least it wasn't supposed to be. It is about whether it is harder to deal with being the only gun and meat shield on the field or if it is harder to contend with lag, enemies being everywhere always and not having the option of kiting away from objectives.
It is also because, again, I expected pugging to be easy after I finished a plat solo. It wasn't. For the above reasons in addition to not always selecting a specific map/enemy, being a suboptimal team player and not using the same kit I soloed with, I was unsuccessful. Just wanted to see if others had simillar experiences...
