Well, if you got money to throw away even though you have alternatives, you can always throw me some bucks.

If I had the Black Friday mindset I would have had to wait over a month to get my Surface Pro 2, and I highly doubt I would've saved much extra money since the Tablet itself was $1,800. Although I guess I would've saved on accessories.

I don't think it's aimed at low income earners so much as impulse buyers. It's sort of like a Steam sale in that regard; except the sale items are finite.
The insanely marked down merchandise tends to move extremely fast. Hence why folks will line up in front of shops early in the morning to beat everyone else to those sales. Having worked retail on Black Friday, it's pretty insane. Sort of like going to a concert without good music, and more crap on sale.
Personally, the only time I ever bothered with it was years back when I bought several DVDs super cheap. And that was online through Amazon; back before they had the timed sale nonsense they use now. You couldn't pay me to shop on Black Friday in person.

Their general sales manager gave me a special Black Friday deal. So yes, it is for people with low and limited incomes.

It's a day where people are actually fooled into spending more money than they normally would, not less.
Haha, shop till you drop. The more you spend, the more you save!!

My college doesn't even give us Labor Day or Good Friday off.
If it's during the semester, and it's not MLK Day or Thanksgiving, we're in class. Pretty jank really.

We do, in college, however get big game days off after 12. Are they semi-holidays now?Steelcan wrote...

I avoid black Friday like the plague. Stay inside, stay warm and play games/watch movies.

They don't usually sell at those price for people that really need it. They sell it for people who don't need it and will only purchase it at those price.
Also when I want something bad .. I take information on it. Look around and find the best deal. I make a conscious descision most of the time.I Ask for prolonged warranty and try to find the best quality/price ratio. People during those day are like a bunch of lemming running in every direction trying to find something ''cheap''. Because in their head they're saving money,
Look at what people that are interviewed are saying most of the time. They want to ''find', something . It not conscious, but impulsive. Shopping it like a drug for a lot of people.
Those big shopping mall know what to do. They know where to place stuff and where to sell it cheaper. So let me shake my head in disbelief during that day . It a zoo for me.
