Firstly I'll state I'm on PC. I'm curious to see other PC players, yet also the differences across platforms.

What do your lobbies look like, in many regards? Obviously if you're playing with a consistent group of friends this thread might not be for you.

Time spent?
In my experience recently...
Platinum: 5-30 minutes average time spent finding a reasonable lobby. I don't get stuck in Rio/Reapers anywhere near as much as 6 months ago. It seems a lot more hit/miss... Either it's a bunch of BOTB's and we all score within 10k of eachother (Which is awesome.) or it's people who shouldn't be in plat climbing on peoples shoulders hoping for a carry. I suppose my bad cause so long as one other person looks capable I'll ready up and just be grateful for the two warm bodies. Unfortunately, I'm getting thrown into a lot more hacked lobbies as of late. Starting to host more on plat because of this, but also just starting to play less. That being said, the most fun I have in this game is platinum hands down. This is where I see some of the best coordination and teamwork, and almost all done without mics. I like platinum, but it's getting harder to find good platinums as the game ages.

Gold: 1-10 minutes. Pretty easy to find a decent lobby, very hard to find a group that actually wants to work as a team. Gold is where I see a disproportionately large amount of scorewh'ores. Everyone splits up, two go down, one guy goes to revive, gets sync'd. So on so forth. Lately I've been pretty unimpressed with pug golds in general. Faster to find, but once I'm in there just, guh. Unfun. I don't play a coop game to solo on opposite sides of the map.

Silver: Instant. Lots of silvers, don't care what the group is like, I'll often queue up with only one other, easy, fun, I take my lvl 1's here, I headbutt, I asarigasm, silver is just great lols in general.

Bronze: Haven't played enough bronzes in the past while to really know. Haven't erm, played any for months actually.

Hosting vs Not
Still trying to decide what's better, when I host it can take a while for the lobby to fill, sometimes it seems to bug out and it never fills. I'll host platinums, particularly if I'm playing a kit like drellguard/etc. It seems like it's much faster to just queue up a U/U, although much more random. If I find a good lobby first try it's definitely faster than if I'm hosting. There's the obvious benefit of hosting having less lag, but time spent waiting for the lobby to fill can get aggravating as well.

What're your experiences lately?

I don't PUG Platinum in fact I only do Plat these days if a friend wants to.

Gold : Lobbies fill fairly quickly and the standard of player is much better than 6 months ago. I usually find a good level of co-operation.  If I'm PUGing with Aetika I usually host.  If I'm playing on my alternate account I quick match and leave games in progress because I don't have enough consumables to waste to equip beforehand.

Not not PUGed Silver/Bronze for months but Silver was good 6-8 months ago.

PC by the way.

I'm also on PC. I actually think that I find better pugs when queuing for Platinum rather than Gold. Of course sometimes it's a massive fail, it can happen.

Gold... I play a lot of Gold matches and it's all sorts. There are lots of score-whrs, true. There are also a lot of new players with Predator 1s who should probably be playing some more Silver. Funny, because I figured that this late into the game there would be almost no new players. Either way, in the majority of cases I get through Gold consistently in around 20 mins, which is decent.

On Silver matches it doesn't even really matter. As long as you know what you're doing and some teammates help, even sporadically, you can get it done.

I find this to be true as well.

I don't know something's been circulating in the water supply but recently I've been able to get into a few pretty good platinum pugs this past week, that is, if I'm even lucky enough to get a full lobby (requires a lot of patience). Didn't even need to kick anyone. Was a very good feeling.

Gold PUGs on PC are better than they were 6 month ago, it seems to me. There are more experienced players, with more teamwork, and in general they pay attention to the other players. Look out for unprepared players in the lobbies, though.

Since you asked...
I play on PC and it's getting harder to find a game compared to the past, on every level (well, I don't play Bronze, so...).

But the Pugs are getting better when you can find a game. I have to assume that the lobbies are full of veterans or new players who have read-up on how to play the game.

So I'll try really really hard not to assume he/she/it isn't an ass. Benefit of the doubt, n'all.

I might have to try more golds, thus far I've just appreciated platinums more. Although they do seem to attract a more... er, how shall I say, diverse, crowd? I did a lot of golds when I was going for BOTB, I wound up playing more silvers simply to enjoy the game without 3 GI's or Reegar-using-AIU's. Gah, remember when they were first released/prenerf? Ridiculous. (Hyperbole true, but only just.)

I do like taking my lvl 1 volus with Typhoon X into silvers.  I shewt all teh t'hings.

I basically only ever do PUG'd gold matches. Occasionally silver if I'm playing something new to me. It generally goes fine. If I go to a lobby, I generally stick with it unless there's more than one person who seems like they're playing gold because they played SP on Insanity. I don't usually encounter groups that play well enough together that I want to do multiple matches with them (which is alright, because most lobbies break up after one match anyway), but there are almost always enough competent players to keep things from getting hairy.

They do tend to split up 2-and-2, though, only coming together for objectives. Usually enough good players to make up for the one idiot who dies across the map (who may or may not sometimes be me:whistle:).

So all in all I've been having good experiences in gold recently. The one thing I don't like, however, is that I usually get dropped into an active match. Often in the middle of a spawn. Sometimes with players I really would not have chosen to play with. But mostly good experiences.

I don't pug platinum cos' 95% of the time it's a chore :
1) Giant/Reapers - ok, but boring. Done that so many times.
2) Rio - seriously people? If you wanna farm , just take Giant instead. Wave 10 devices or escort on Rio, with people that have that mindset "ooh, I gonna camp in the box of lame, cos' it's easy credits" is usually a suicide mission.
3) Most of the time people in gold lobbies are better equipt than in platinum ones.
4) Overall, finding a decent plat lobby took me 5-20 minutes , average game lenght was 25-35 minutes.
So these days I just play plat with atleast 1 friend.

For gold:
1)Easy to find a lobby.
2)Large variety of teamamtes : from a Human Enginner with Katana 3  + Explosive Rounds to a TGI with a Harrier X.
3)Most of the time everyone is taking the run&gun approach.
4)People are more eager to use nukes on wave 11 than on objective waves. LOL , seriously , LOL.

I'd say 94% of the time it's a chore...

Fairly said, I get dropped into those an unreasonably proportionately larger amount of time than most others. I used to like Giant but it's slipping down the list the more I play it.

I 've only been dropped into one of those in the past three or so months. That's compared to about 30% of the queues about 6 months ago when I was grinding BOTB. I think it's getting better/replaced by giant.

I patently disagree with this, I have the exact opposite experience. Platinums I see some decent players using lvl IV's or III's/ Golds I never see a thing, not even I's or II's.

Sadly no one I game with plays ME3 anymore. My average game length I'd say has gone down, but I attribute that to less Rio's and more Glaciers; essentially to the maps, rather than the players. What's surprising is I still see a lot of Geth/FBW. Nostalgia I 'spose?
