What I'm saying is that the original script vaguely describes the endings, whereas what you're doing is taking your own imagination of what could be and applying it to vague descriptions. You're implying they were different. When in reality, they could be exactly what we got (just in the writers words)

That is precisely how that sort of writing works. They are vague descriptions so that there is a general plan. It is then up to the writers to flesh those out. There will be errors/differences in the execution, but the germ of the idea, the framework, is already there.

Well, I heard that there was a Dark Energy Plot in the game... Well, my mistake, sorry.

Also, there was meant to have a confrontation with Kai Leng on the Normandy.

ME3 Restored Content, please! ROFL

I think they toyed with that Kai Leng idea in some concept art, as it seems hes crashing through to your cabin in one art piece. But it was never even in the draft. Would have been cool tough and would have certainly made him seem more like a threat.

That was actually a piece by Matt Rhodes, before the concept artists even knew anything about ME3. He envisioned an independent Shepard, breaking in to steal the Normandy from the Alliance. So that is meant to be Shepard, not Kai Leng.

There's a bunch of concept art that never made it as far as a script, like the TIM boss fight. But yeah, doesn't look like Kai Leng thing is one of them.

Javik is called the Catalyst in one of the older scripts.

You land and fight Cerberus through the streets of Eden Prime while terrified civilians hide, then meets up with PARTNER (who arrived earlier) just in time to see an explosion of energy coming from the Prothean ruins. When he arrives, the Prothean is standing in a crater surrounded by dead Cerberus agents. It kills the last Cerberus soldier and exits in a cool fashion. Shepard and PARTNER assume that the Prothean is a rogue Cerberus supersoldier created using the CATALYST. PARTNER goes after it, while you goe after the CATALYST.

After fighting Cerberus troops in the area, you find Cerberus video logs that show them opening a Prothean Sphere and finding the Prothean inside. The vid makes it clear that the Prothean isn't a Cerberus soldier. He's the CATALYST. Shepard follows the Prothean's trail of destruction, fighting Cerberus troops. You eventually finds the Prothean injured and exhausted, with PARTNER ready to kill it. PARTNER refuses to listen to your explanation and tries to kill the Prothean, and you have no choice but to kill him. The mission closes with you answering to the Council for "the attack on Eden Prime" and the death of the Spectre to the Council.

This is the part of the story that got the VS to distrust you the most. You kill their partner while pursuing the "Catalyst". Javik.

On Deciding the End of the Game:
The illusive man boss
fight had been scrapped... but there was still much debate. 'One night
Walters scribbled down some thought on various ways the game could end
with the line "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" at the bottom of the
page.'

In truth the final bits of dialogue were debated right up
until the end of 2011. Martin Sheen's voice-over session for the
illusive man, originally scheduled for August, was delayed until
mid-November so the writers would have more time to finesse the ending.

And
even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an
endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's
movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped
because the gameplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement
alongside dialogue choices).

So, changes were made to
the end of the game at the last minute, and the Devs were originally
trying to include a mechanic where the Reapers were actually physically
ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL of Shepard's body

It seems that the ending was changed before the leak

Basically it sounds like they had no clue as to how to end this thing.

“A successful game ending shares some elements with good endings in other mediums,” he says. “They should resolve the conflicts of the main character, tie together any loose ends, complete the story you started to tell, and leave the player satisfied and entertained. However, a successful game ending has a few additional elements.”

Walters goes on to share his three rules on creating a great ending, the first of which is about the player’s relationship to their past experiences within the game: “The ending should reflect the way the player chose to play the game."

We don’t universally fault the idea of a final boss, however. For many players, this is still the number one satisfying way for a game to end, which means developers do little wrong in pandering to this audience.

“And the choices! Everything you’ve done up until the beginning of Mass Effect 3 and throughout the game will impact the story. Its ending may just be the most diverse ending ever.”

The script also says you only enable Synthesis, if you get a "perfect" game.

Shepard must now make his final decision - to control the Reapers, to destroy the Reapers, or if they had a perfect game to become one with the Reapers.

That's interesting to me. Becoming one with the Reapers was their optimal choice.

I think the one thing most people would welcome from the script is how you got to deploy squad and the Hammer forces. The script even requests a different kind of GUI for making selections.

It's nice enough to know that Liara didn't have as much plot armor, at one point. It was like she was any other squad member in their minds. *gasp*

Oddly enough, only one character in the Mass Effect universe is featured under the "Plot Armor" section of TVTropes: Miranda.

<_<...really david? Please elaborate, since up until the beam run she's pretty much one of the most important characters in the trilogy.

Can't find Ilos in ME1 without her, shepards body was given to cerberus by liara leading up to ME2, and those 2 reasons alone are just the most obvious.

Hmm. This is suspicious. I wonder who the culprit could be. Could it be a certain user whose waifu happens to be Liara and has stated that Miranda is pretty much damaged goods simply b/c she wasn't a virginal maiden that didn't worship the Shepard-Christ?

I'm curious what you think those 'reasons' have an iota to do with plot armor.

Plot armor is not 'any character who can't be killed in a game where some characters can be killed.'
