Just imagine if they improved or remastered the graphics sound or many other things for next gen release.

There's this nasty feeling I've had ever since getting my XBox One. What do I do now?

Commander Shepard's story is, far and away, the most wrenching game I've ever experienced. In some ways, it's the most important story I've read or played or watched. What that says about my repertoire of literary savoir-faire, I don't know. However, with the lack of current backwards compatibility and Microsoft's current uncertainty, I am left with the painful realization that I may never, ever play Mass Effect again.

I could keep the XBox 360, but my beloved wife, God love her, has made it clear that it's kind of silly to do so, especially if it's just (in her words) "for one game." I've acquiesced and agreed to part with the 360, but it's difficult. Compounding said difficulty is the fact that I own the collector's editions, which I cherish. The only games I've ever purchased and not sold at some point.

How do you let go of such a legendary piece of fiction? And, postulating strictly for the sake of my own tender heart, I would love to see it, and would lap it up in a hurry at the right price. Otherwise, I don't know. Maybe it's for the best. Maybe the brevity of it all is what makes it so special.

I'd like to see it. Forza is the only thing I bought at the moment. Not sure what else is coming out I'd like besides Thief and Destiny. I hope to see more RPGs, even old ports.

I just definitely hope that even if they don't make another mass effect game about shepard and his or her crew they could at least port it over to next gen consoles with improvements and seeing all the games in ps4 or xbox one graphics would be outstanding.

I would love it, for convenience's sake.

Maybe it'll happen when the next-gen Mass Effect game is released. The God of War games on PS2 and PSP got HD remakes so that the whole series could be played on PS3 without the need to jump to different platforms to get all of the story.

I hope it happens. Mass Effect is the only reason I keep the xbox 360.

Given the little that we have heard, I'm having a hard time imagining it not happening. DAI's next gen and the next ME should be coming out a good amount of time afterwards.

If they announced a next-gen Mass Effect port, there'd be a huge <noun>storm over whether they were going to 'fix' things while they were porting:

- Import bugs
- Character designer compatibility between games
- ME3 journal
- <that other thing we were just talking about the other day>

As much as I might like to see it, it's too much to hope for. An astounding 'Mass Effect Next' that's the killer app for the next gen consoles (Mass Effect was the killer app for my 360 purchase, years after it was launched) is what we should be looking for.

I don't want a remake or re-imaging or any other 're'. I want a bug free port.

The two things extra I'd like is a seamless transition between games and ME3's character creator being moved to ME1 to reduce the changes in appearance between games.

The problem I see is that the mechanics behind the character generation is completely different and I think the models for the characters are also different so carrying the character forward even if the character generation is the same it won't carry forward properly.

I've got it on PC too, but my laptop's developed an irritating random freezing issue. :(

Put up $10 million on Kickstarter and then it will happen.

If they let another studio do it, sure. I'd prefer if BW focus on making new games.

if they never fixed Mass Effect 1 for the PC why would they do so for console, I only support this if they fix the PC version at the same time from its graphical bugs, because after all, PC is the best system to really play any game on other than Madden

All 3 games at 1080p, high resolution textures, at 60fps with all DLC included.

Day 1 on my PS4.

Seriously if they think it's financially a waste of time, kickstart it. I bet you within 1 hour of it going up, they'll be something like 75million pounds over their 9billion pound original asking price.

It's that much of a surefire winner.

Hyperbole aside, I reckon it would meet its kickstart goal within the first hour of being up. Guaranteed. Make it happen EA.

If it happens EA will dump the HD remastered edition on another in-house developer to do the spit polish re-release in 5 or so years, but i would expect some DLC to be separate because micro-transactions is the new unholy standard

I will be keeping my 360 along side my Xbox One until they do so
