Regardless of your choices, four ME2 squadmates - Mordin, Legion, Morinth, and Thane - are unavailable for the Armax Arsenal Arena. But what if that changed? What powers would you assign these guys to bring them from the ME2 world to the ME3 world? Be as conservative or creative as you like!

I'm going to assume everyone has four powers and a passive, and I'm not going to plan out each evolution because I'm not a theorycrafter, but by all means go ahead and be that detailed if you like!

Mordin:
  • Incinerate
  • Cryo Blast
  • Energy Drain
  • Arc Grenade
Incinerate and Cryo Blast are carry overs for ME2. Neural Shock isn't in ME3, so the obvious replacement is Overload, but Energy Drain seems more Salarian based on the multiplayer characters. That left one spot. A mine or a grenade perhaps? I chose Arc Grenade becuase it's tech-y, and would be new to single-player.

Legion:
  • Sabotage
  • Geth Turret
  • Defense Matrix
  • Disruptor Ammo
Sabotage is ME3's version of AI Hacking, and instead of Combat Drone, multiplayer's Geth Turret would be much more flavorful for Legion. I gave Defense Matrix as an equivalent to Geth Shield Boost, but a unique version of Hunter Mode might be cool as well. Finally, I had one free spot... As an infiltrator, Tactical Cloak seemed logical, and we've seen it on NPCs with Kasumi, except I don't recall Legion ever cloaking. I decided to be boring and give him an ammo power, and Disrupter seems to work best in an anti-synthetic set.

Morinth:
  • Throw
  • Dominate
  • Lash
  • Barrier
Throw and Dominate are from ME2, and I put Lash instead of Pull because it just seems more Morinth the cruelly throw people about. I really couldn't think of anything for the last spot - a biotic grenade, perhaps? Samara got Warp in ME3, but that just seemed too boring. I chose Barrier because I like the idea of Morinth always having an extra layer of protection around her; it seems like the kind of self-survival thing she'd use often.

Thane:
  • Throw
  • Warp
  • Recon Mine
  • Armor-Piercing Ammo
Throw and Warp are from ME2. Since we know he prefers to kill krogan with bombs, I knew a mine or grenade would be a good idea. I was thinking of Cluster Grenade, but I liked Recon MIne because the Drell Infiltrator has it, and what is Thane if not a Drell Infiltrator with biotics? Since he now had 2 biotic and 1 tech power, I felt needed to balance out the biotics with a combat/tech power like Armor-Piercing Ammo, which replaces Shredder Ammo.

So, BSN, what would you do?

On Mordin: I think having energy drain and arc grenades is a bit redundant. Given the choice i'd just give him arc grenades but I think energy drain is closer to neural shock. Given how flimsy he is and the fact that he's salarian I think energy drain would be a safer bet.

Tactical cloak would be bad-ass on Thane - it would would be the glue that holds everything together. With bonus power (in addition to a free biotic explosion with warp and throw) it would combine warp debuff with tactical cloak damage, drell assassin and warp ammo (perfect synergy) which would make Thane the ultimate black widower.

On Legion:  Tactial cloak would enhance the damage of sabotage and the bonus power feature would enable you to combine tech vulnerability with rocket drone whilst under tactical cloak. Defense Matrix, Combat Drone and TC would make him a rarther tank-y sniper come engineer.

Assault rifles, SMGs and full auto snipers would be problematic though on squadmates with tactical cloak as they would be constantly breaking cloak causing long cooldowns which is a problem with Kasumi's SMG but wouldn't be a problem with Thane or Legion provided they stick to heavy sniper rifles.

I really don't know why Thane didn't have tactical cloak.

Because Drell could just magically disappear anyways :P (Thane does it in the loyalty mission, as does Feron in LotSB).

I was extremely disappointed with the lack of Morinth, my very favorite squadmate, in ME3 altogether (so lazy and such wasted potential!). I was really really hoping she'd show up in the Citadel DLC but was sadly disappointed, and was even more disappointed that she didn't even show up in the Armax Arsenal Arena!

But, if she was in the Arsenal Arena, she should have gotten:

Morinth

Dominate (Had it in ME2, signature ability, instead of Samara's Reave)
Throw (Had it in ME2, same as Samara)
Pull (Had it in ME2, same as Samara. But I really like OP's Lash idea)
Dark Channel (Darker, more fitting version of Warp to counter-balance Samara's Warp)
Ardat-Yakshi (Had it in ME2)

Weapon profieceny: Assault Rifles, SMGs (Same as ME2)

I really wish she showed up in ME3. C'mon BioWare, why do you hate me so much? Salt in the wounds... it may not seem like much but seeing Morinth would have meant a lot to me, I think she's way too fascinating for how little content she got. It might sound pathetic, but I just think she's badass! Even people who don't like her pick her on alternate playthroughs...

Annihilation Field would make more sense for an Ardat-Yakshi (than Dark Channel) imo... cause she's a life-sucking murderer in need of an evil aura.

On a quasi-related point I always thought they should have made Aria a secret Ardat-Yakshi... after-all she's got the perfect set up goin' on at Afterlife. It would explain her managing to get Patriach's men to betray him in droves and why people worship at her feet. Morinth being drawn into Aria's world make's sense. I figure Aria is basically a justicar level biotic who followed her own path. She used her 'gifts' to carve out her own empire.

Aside from Reave I was quite dissapointed with her powers in the Omega DLC, particularly Flare with it's rediculous cooldown and meh damage. Carnage and Lash are decent powers but she's supposed to be a legendary biotic and these don't really fit her very well imo. If you follow my logic she should be a fully developed Ardat-Yakshi (i.e. Morinth on steriods)

Aria

Annihilation Field
Reave
Dominate
Flare (16 sec cooldown MAX)
Biotic Boss

Annihilation Field would look awesome with Morinth being surrounded in an evil, shadowy aura, but I picked Dark Channel because I thought it counter-balanced Samara better since Warp and Dark Channel are similar. And Dark Channel itself is already pretty dark-themed, the word "dark" is even in the name, lol. And spreading the darkness from one enemy to another sounds very Morinth-y to me.

Morinth on steroids would be scary! Morinth was already supposed to be pretty powerful, but steroid Morinth sounds a little OP lol. But yeah, I could've seen Aria being an Ardat Yakshi though. I always thought Aria and Morinth would get along... they both seem pretty hedonistic to me. Aria's my third favorite character (second being Samara, first being Morinth of course)

The idea of having a squadmate who can just stand around in the open priming anything in radius for a biotic explosion would have been fantasic gameplay and they don't have to do anything... not even move.... "Aria/Morinth go stand over there for five minutes". Dominate would have been good against cerberus also.

That would be pretty cool. Plus, if Morinth had Annihilation Field she would be the only squadmate that had it, but having to go near enemies makes her more vulnerable. So both Annihilation Field and Dark Channel work for me, I like both ideas. Same with Pull and Lash.

Dominate is in ME3 as well, bonus power you receive after completing the Leviathan DLC.

Yeah I was thinking Dark Channel or Annihilation Field instead of Samara's Warp, since Morinth would have Dominate instead of Samara's Reave.

Annihilation Field or Dark Channel both sound cool and very appropriate for Morinth! And I sympathize with your pain in seeing so little Morinth content in the third game.

After playing Citadel again and listening to Mordin toss a biotic grenade in his datapad story, I kinda want to revise my Mordin powers to Incinerate, Cryo Blast, Energy Drain, and Cluster Grenade, just for kicks.
