This topic refers only to combat, and as an example lets use the class spacialisations from DA2 as templates for DAI. I want to know how people will play their mage. In DA2, I played as a mage heavily invested in creation, entrophy and little bit of arcane for defence. I would specialize as a spirit healer even though Anders has that mostly covered. I enjoy playing as a support mage as it is very refreshing playing as an attack mage before I got better at using tactics.

My favorite combo was spirit healer+blood mage but since we'll only be able to choose one spec... I'll favor spirit healer but choose blood mage on other playthroughs.

I don't think I'd ever make a mage without the basic heal spell. My favorite trees are primal and elemental.

I plan on a Warrior first, but the first mage I play will probably end up being a Blood Mage, just to see if it really has a greater impact on the story like I believe they've said it will.

I'll probably throw Force Mage in there too if it's still around. It was a lotta fun in DA2.

Dont know, no info on specializations yet. Probably primal/spirit hybrid.

I tend to grow fangs so I'll probably go with a damager build. I'm seriously going to rock the mage class, though. A whole year still....

I usually play Rogue(fave class) on my first play-through but I'm really tempted to play as a blood mage.

I usually left the healing up to Anders and I mostly invested in primal and elementary before I wanted to play combat in more tactical way.

I would love to play as a shapeshifter if it returns. I think it really should return especially considering Morrigan and Flemeth are two major characters and they are shapeshifters.

Depends on the trees and what is available. I'll probably go full offensive mage in first playthrough.

I enjoy playing as a mage. I usually go on the offensive and kill the enemy as quickly as possible. In DA2 I had a lot of fun dropping fireballs on the bad guys..

I would like to have a spell where I could call up a desire demon and have her fight at my side

Support mage for me. Warriors and rogues can do the killing, my mages handle the buff, debuff, crowd control and healing. I find the healing spells in the Dragon Age games very boring though, so I may skip being a Spirit Healer this time... unless they add quests where NPCs recognize our specialization, that is.

I would actually like to play a spirit healer if they affected the story like how Anders was able to heal Bartrand if he was in the party.

depends if there are any new ones, new skill trees, and how the magic book works.
Would like to do more oddball stuff, maybe combine shapeshifting with hexes, magical traps, stuff like that.

If the specialization Arcane Warrior comes back, I will SO play as an Elven Arcane Warrior.

Otherwise, depends on the character and which specialization fits her personality.

Have to see what's available. It seems like blood magic is sorta confirmed so I will probably try that out again cuz I enjoyed it in the first two games. I really loved force magic as well in DA2 so I hope that makes it back.

I usually don't go for Spirit Healer but I hope there is a better basic heal-ish/creation tree again like in DAO that all companions can use. It felt like a cheap way to force peeps to use Anders if they didn't want to stay on the kindergarden difficulties with how it was in DA2.

My first choice is an arcane warrior or something similar- especially if I can specialize in close-range spells (cone AOEs and the like) with a focus in primal and spirit spells (I love me some walking bomb). If that's not available, probably a long ranged nuker, probably specc'd blood mage, who dabbles in status ailments like entropy spells.

For my mage he would most likley  mastered the  Elemental (Fire/ice) \\Creation (Healing) with blood magic.

My mage would also be a shapeshifter, since Morrigan is confirmed to be in the game.

Thinking of taking a break from spirit healing. Might go for blood magic with my power hungry Dalish lady. Blood magic, primal spells and spirit magic.

I have no idea what I'll do if the arcane warrior specialisation returns.

Arcane Warrior is my first choice. If that's not available, I'll go with Blood Mage. Either way, I'd just be using a basic healing spell and mostly destruction magic. Rock Armor and/or Arcane Shield if I can get them without learning unwanted spells first.

I really want the option to burn someone's eyes with witchfire.
