I'm a Paragon to the core.
Speaking of Paragons, and speaking of Anderson, I suspect Paragons like Anderson and Renegades dislike him.
Doesn't apply to me. I'm a renegon and I can't say I dislike Anderson.

My renegon engineer feels the same.

Have you ever tried "zipping" while disoriented? It's harder than it looks.

Renegon =/= renegade. You would be indifferent.
Although, to be fair, you don't have to agree with someone to like them as a person. I like plenty of people whose views are wildly, wildly disparate from mine. However, in a video game I suspect it's a bit more one-dimensional.

Anderson is cleearly pro-Alliance.
But "alignment"-wise, paragon or renegade, he seems to reflect whatever Shep believes. He always backs your choice and trusts Shepard.

I don't see how renegade players would just dislike Anderson when he isn't that paragon himself

And they've been doing this extermination thing for a very, very long time.
You're creating this exceedingly contrived middle-ground of disorientation to fuel a power fantasy.

Pretty much. Depends on your motivations. Anderson is an old-fashioned military man - honor, principles and all that jazz

And you somehow want it to have an awesome button that helps you kill the Reapers but not things weaker than them. Seems a little contrived for the player to me.
Except it wouldn't kill Reapers
And it's still less contrived than shooting a pipe to activate a galactic Synthetic Off Switch
or "organic energy"

Anything that is strong enough to disable a Reaper should destroy just about anything else based off of their technology, whcih every single thing is. It's a lot more contrievediakus wrote...

Synthesis is ridiculous, but it's also not the topic at-hand here.
And no, I think your "drug 'em up just enough to curb-stomp 'em in a way so we still feel like badasses" scenario is more contrived. 100%, Indiscriminate Overload Beam > that.

I'm kind of "meh" on Anderson, and the bolded part is why. He's a nice guy, but that's really all he is. Yawn.

Well, that's the thing about "contrived".... it's more a feeling than an objective concept. Anything that takes ME away from inflicting the horrible psychic damage that the game as written gave iakus won't feel contrived to him. Conversely , something that takes the game towards silly illusions of badassery will feel contrived to you and me because it's contrivance in the service of something we don't like in the first place.
