FemShep's got Thane and Jacob confirmed. The optimist in me (locked away in a dark, cold closet of my mind) thinks that Joker's expanded role might include being a romance option, which would be fantastic.

Seth Green said quite clearly that Joker had no romances.

Don't think Garrus or Samara are going to be options for FemShep, though. Never really understood why anyone thought they would be.

One of the devs--whos name escapes name--said that there were characters (note plural) returning in ME2 that were not romanceable in ME1, quite obviously meaning Tali and Garrus.

And whether you understand their popularity or not, BioWare has taken note of the community opinion and has acted accordingly.

And I still maintain that Samara would not be a love interest just because of her way of life and personality. She would be a lust interest at most.

I would die a thousand deaths to be able to romance Joker - I'd break all those leg bones and he'd be HAPPY about it! ;)

And CRACK! I can see the sex scene now...

Given femShep's physical prowess is that really a good idea?

femShep: "Come here, lover."
Joker: "AHHHH MY LEGS!!"

For a night with my FemShep? He'd like it. Image IPB

On a serious note, some videos have come out that suggest that Joker's condition has been altered in some way, for the better. So he probably won't shatter if FemShep and Joker bump uglies. Image IPB

Why on Earth not? Garrus is a hottie.

I think he's interesting looking, sure, but I don't understand what evidence says Garrus could be an option, besides the large online following he has and the fact he's actually in ME2. Image IPB

It's hope. Keeping hope alive and our Garrus shaped candles burning.

Given the popularity of Garrus and Tali it's a wonder they won't be romancable. BioWare listening to the community my arse.

Not that I ever understood Tali's popularity. I suppose her massive child-bearing hips bring out certain instincts in men. That must be it.

I'll play as a male shep for the first playthrough but for the second i'll be femshep.

Not sure who to romance, I can't really believe Garrus is the third option but it contradicts what devs say (about no humans (that crosses out Miranda and SuZe) being romancable and the hints that Tali is romancable (crossing out Samara, unless she is a lesbian only option, which I doubt).

Is there really that big of a market for garrus, I mean, Thane was made specifically so he could be an alien romance... so what does that tell us about Garrus?

If Samara/ Tali was available as a lesbian option and Thane was available as a gay option i'd think it would be better for the sake of choice, but if Garrus is indeed a romance i'll probably end up romancing him after Thane.

I'm going to hold out hopes (despite Seth Green's assertations) that someday Kendra Shepard and Joker will make sweet, sweet and painful love.

But I've had a crush on Seth Green for over a decade now, so I'm probably way biased.

Because only men have instincts?  But yeah I am sure the hips help.

Personally it's her smart persoanlity and the accent is killer.

Accents are a weakness of mine.

No he didn't. Image IPB He joked around with a camera man. Not definitive proof that Joker's out of the running, just that he's amused by the thought of Joker romancing a computer program.

I agree that Tali will most likely be an option, but I disagree that Garrus is a shoo-in. Garrus may be popular online, but that doesn't mean Bioware will cater to their demands. That, and if Garrus was an option, I see no reason for Bioware to go out of their way to make the Drell race one big fan service to female gamers. Thane wouldn't be necessary as the tolken malien interest.

See I don't get that, they make him to be romancable then give him a face like somebody smashed him over the head with a Salvador Dali painting.

I kind of had a thing for Tali too. She's just so darn sweet. I agree with Naltair about the accent.

Not at all, merely that the hips bring out certain instincts.
I don't deny that others do too. Like Garrus. I think it's the voice.

Too much wannabe renegade if you ask me. "Blow the Council up! They suck! Blow them up! C'mon!" stop it Tali, I'm the only badass around here!

I've been trying to keep myself in the dark about ME2 for surprise but I had no idea the Drells were supposed to be fan service. In all actuality I can't see what would be the draw of them.  Maybe I'm missing something and need to find out more about these aliens.

Don't feel like argueing about it.

Why wouldn't BioWare make Garrus romanceable if they did the same for Tali? They're quite obviously the two most requested love interests from ME1. Doing one without the other would be ludicrous without a damned good reason, assuming a sufficient reason could exist.

As for Thane, having him as an option does not exclude Garrus in any way. BioWare is giving you variety.

True, but her moral grayness to me was a good counterpoint to my Shepherd; who was just doing his job saving the Galaxy and all.  I won't lie if they start to hit it off it will be trouble for Liara.  If anyone else is surviving that suicide mission it will be Tali.

Yeah, Thane was made by the Devs from the ground up as the stealthy, assassin love interest for FemShep. From his design, they made the Drells. For me, it's hard to understand why they would put so much effort into making a whole new species for an alien love interest if they were just going to make Garrus one, too. It's not a good idea for a company to spend money creating a new character for the same role that another character already fills. Thus why I think Garrus is out.

Again, I don't understand why you seem to think they can't do both. Why do you think there can't be two male alien love interests?

Edit: Note that each gender is to have an equal number of love interests.

Well - thinking only of balance - the guys get two humans and an alien.... wouldn't girls get the same?

Not necessarily, considering who is in the squad.

I can see his appeal more than Garrus'... *shudder* Garrus is like a giant, scaley  bug, with a snapping turtle's mouth and mandibles. What's hot about that? It would be like kissing a Xenomorph.
