I am confused. My level 6 str 22 dwarf has got the Fine Dwarven Blade (damage 7.70, str modifier 1.00) and a Veridium Dwarven Waraxe (damage 7.80, str modifier 1.10). With the sword his damage is 20.6, with the axe it is 20.4. Shouldn't it be higher with the axe?

Also, when he activates Precise Striking, his damage goes down with 2 points. The descriprion says nothing about this. Why is this?

Yes, damage should be a bit higher with the waraxe. The damage number that is shown in the character screen is an approximation at best, and quite often it wouldn't update properly until you reload a save, re-equip gear, turn off and re-enable sustainables and the like.

The calculation adjusts the damage number for attack speed, as mentioned in the tooltip if I remember correctly. That would explain the reduced value with Precise Striking activated.
