IMHO both romances even though short were done well

I thought it happened way too fast.  He finally gets over his dead husband and THE VERY NEXT CONVERSATION you can hop into bed with him.

Umm..more like he tells you at the beginning of the game, and you sleep with him at the second to last level of a VERY long game.

He still got over that guy way to fast though.

We don't know how long Cortez's husband was dead. But it happened around the Collector invasion so he was dead for perhaps a year or nearly a year before Cortez meets Shepard. Then ME3 spanned several more months. I admit that they could have given us more dialogue, time with Cortez about his husband etc. But it's not like he got over him the day after he died.

I kinda have the same problem with kaiden to knowing what i know i don't romance him with a femshep anymore either.

Wow. So because you find out someone is bisexual, that completely makes all previous interactions and relationships you've established worthless? Bravo, truly.

Actually its because the RL person kaiden is based on is gay so i felt wrong romancing him with femshep.

Again, your crappy logic astounds me.

Its not crappy at all it just made me feel weird so i deleted that femshep romancing him.

Wow. You seriously deleted a character, a Shepard, because you had issues with Kaidan's face model being gay?

Yes and i made a gay maleshep from scratch to compensate for the lose of that character plus it gave me a reason to do another trilogy run.

I'll just throw my opinion on the "playersexuality" thing in here:

I love the choice it gave, but I personally don't like playersexuality as a concept. If Anders is straight if Hawke is female and gay if Hawke is male then what is Anders if there is no Hawke at all?

Characters should be able to exist entirely on their own right without the player character. I would have preferred it if all of the LI's were just explicitly or hinted at being bisexual, rather than their orientation changing based on Hawk's gender.

That's how I feel about it as well. Plus, I think the bi romances in Origins were handled better because of that concept. Romancing Lelianna as a female actually felt special. While on the flip side, Anders in DA2 going 100% gay if your a male felt really off if you played Awakening, it just didn't make sense. He no longer felt like a real character that stood on his own. All the other crap that went wrong with Anders in DA2 aside of course, lol.

With that being said, I understand why they did it and I enjoy the fact that BW opened up those romances to both sexes. But I prefer the characters to be more fleshed out and feel more real to me.

As said previously, LelianaxF!Warden had hella less content than LelianaxM!Warden. I was alright with how DA:O handled it. However, I preferred DA2's method.

Also, how does Anders being bisexual make no sense? How does that make him seem unreal? Defining a character as straight or gay doesn't flesh out characters as much as you emphasize. Lol, as said before, bisexuality is a thing. Trust me on that one.

Both and neither, simultaneously. He exists in a liminal state where the socially constructed boundaries of sexuality cease to have relevance.

Which is fine, because sexuality does not exist on a binary of straight/gay with varying degrees of bisexuality in-between. It's fluid and dynamic.

Characters should be able to exist entirely on their own right without the player character. I would have preferred it if all of the LI's were just explicitly or hinted at being bisexual, rather than their orientation changing based on Hawk's gender.

The characters do exist in their own right. Existing outside of our societial construction of sexuality does not delegitimise them as characters in any way. Their sexuality isn't relevant to the understanding of their characters or their stories, nor should it be.

They don't exist "outside of our societial construction of sexuality"- they have relatively clear and defined sexualities. That just so happen to rely entirely on what gender Hawke is.

And besides, sexuality is no more a "societal construction" than personality. Both are dynamic, fluid, intrinsic to who we are, and very real. In the same way that Hawke's existence should not immediately alter the companions personalities, so too should it not alter their sexualities.

He mentions wanting a "pretty girl" in Awakening, so obviously he's straight, all straight and nothing but straight.

Bethany/Carver, Aveline, and Sebastian weren't bisexuals. If Varric will not be bisexual in DAI, half of the part wasn't bisexual in DA2.

I have to nitpick this.  We don't KNOW that Aveline or Bethany or Carver were not bisexual.  We only saw them show interest in people of different genders from themselves, but at no point did we see them disavow such interest.  That alone does NOT rule out bisexuality.

Yes, the game didn't confirm that they're heterosexuals. I assume they were since the interests they shown in NPC of opposite gender, but that's not a confirmation.
Though I have to ask, would've you have been against if the game shown that those characters were heterosexuals?

Not at all.  Not being LIs, they were closed off from the PC, and as such their being gay, bi, or straight or anything in between carries no potential for negatively impacting the way a player wants to rock a given romance..

You really shouldn't brush your teeth immediately after drinking coke, otherwise you're just rubbing the phosphoric acid into them. Drink some milk or wait for a little while first.

That doesn't define them as straight, though. If I kiss a girl, people will think I'm straight. Are they wrong? Yes. Does it make me less of a believable person? I don't think so.
