I'll just throw my opinion on the "plersexuality" thing in here:

I love the choice it gave, but I personally don't like playersexuality as a concept. If Anders is straight if Hawke is female and gay if Hawke is male then what is Anders if there is no Hawke at all?

Characters should be able to exist entirely on their own right without the player character. I would have preferred it if all of the LI's were just explicitly or hinted at being bisexual, rather than their orientation changing based on Hawk's gender.

I think that's where headcanoning comes into play. Honestly, while it's a really nice thing to be able to know someone's sexuality, it's honestly not THAT important to one as a character, unless they are affected strongly by it like Isabela. Who one sleeps with should not be that important to one's character development.

No it isn't better imo. Both had issues and both had something to aspire to, I think ME should be more like DA in terms of offering everyone a chance to romance the one they want. Besides you only know Anders is bi through metagaming. Fenris could be 100% straight or gay depending and so could Merrill and you know Izzy is bi cause she makes it clear in game. it's not BW's fault you can't RP in a RPG.

I don't like the idea of having the ability to toggle someones sexuality simply by clicking a damn heart icon simply to pander to my goddamn preference all you are doing is making a person who is gay or not gay just to fit your own needs that's lame its much better to have a gay guy/girl turn you down because he/she doesn't swing that way then click a heart icon and magically turn him/her straight that's ****ing sicking to me.

Magically turn them straight. Lol, because without metagaming, how did you judge if someone was gay? Obviously, you were wrong in your judgement because they are willing to be in a straight romance.

What's sickening to me is that horrid punctuation. It's an eyesore, truly.

Your right i wouldn't know without metagaming but its still a problem because now i know that person is gay and turning them straight just so i can romance them seems really wrong.

First of all, if someone is gay, you wouldn't be turning them straight, no matter if you wanted to romance them or not. If they were able to be romanced as a heterosexual option, then you shouldn't be calling them gay characters. You should be calling them bisexual or playersexual, depending on the circumstance.

I still rather they have a set sexuality and tell me they aren't interested in me because they don't swing that way rather then it being dependent on if i click a heart icon or not.

Bethany/Carver, Aveline, and Sebastian weren't bisexuals. If Varric will not be bisexual in DAI, half of the part wasn't bisexual in DA2.

I have to nitpick this.  We don't KNOW that Aveline or Bethany or Carver were not bisexual.  We only saw them show interest in people of different genders from themselves, but at no point did we see them disavow such interest.  That alone does NOT rule out bisexuality.

What was homophobic about it?

Homophobic is fear of gays or hatred of gays.

Oghren is a straight male. Obviously he would be disgusted/baffled of the idea of two men being together to the point where he makes a joke about it. I can't help but laugh when I see two s/s couples kiss (yep, even lesbians). I find it funny but I have neither fear or hatred of gays.

Because no self-respecting red blooded straight guy would ever show a little decency and respect towards his fellow man.

@Ryzaki: seems a fun playthrough. Though I had more fun playing a Colonist/Sole Survivor Shepard that from game to game lost everyone he loved. Mentor, friends, romantic interests. The ME trilogy gave a lot of freedom in creating a character with serious problems.

Aveline says that she "considered" a female Hawke if she were to persue the heart options on Aveline's personal quest, so I always assumed Aveline was bisexual.

That's what I used to say about the playersexuality thing, but part of accepting who I am was accepting that everything about me, even something that I may not express much and may not see as that important like my sexuality is still an intrinsic part of who I am, and helped shape me into the person I am.

I just take... issue with something like that changing based on what the Player character chooses to be. Anders, Merrill and Fenris should serve as charcters first and foremost, who do not need Hawke to act as a basis that defines fundamental parts of them.

Yes, the game didn't confirm that they're heterosexuals. I assume they were since the interests they shown in NPC of opposite gender, but that's not a confirmation.
Though I have to ask, would've you have been against if the game shown that those characters were heterosexuals?

Actually its because the RL person kaiden is based on is gay so i felt wrong romancing him with femshep.

I personally think there are too many LI's in the story, and too many ways to hook up with said love interests that it just feels ridiculous. If I play a any gender of character, being friendly with my companions shouldn't be counted towards being in a romance. And yet it not only seems that way, but wanting to show anything outside of business tone like questioning is either being mean or being too nice to the point of flirting. I wouldn't mind it as well so much if a lot of content wasn't dependent on romance, which was a problem in both mass effect 3 and dragon age 2.

I say players need more chances of being rejected by their companions, period. Player sexual romances to me are an epitome of the unrejectable protagonist, if only because both the logic and execution of such a protagonist lends itself to someone only needing to lay the charms on their companions or be creepily forceful enough to get what they want out of them. And the fact these relationships are often devoid of drama, tension, or hardship is also a massive facepalm, and that other characters never seem to have an opinion on the matter, or if they do it's played for comedic relief alone.

If the protaganist could be outright turned down by someone they were trying to romance in a player sexual system, I would see no problem with the system. As it stands, player sexual means the exact opposite of that, in that rejection goes from characters being characters with personalities, likes, and dislikes, to just being a funny thing to poke fun at the players with, nothing serious or character developmental going on here.

Yeah this. That romance is awkward as hell.

And you're sleeping with him after his date conversation in purguatory just click on him after missions. Shep makes that pretty blatant. Shep wasted no time hitting that.
