i just bought a MSI A6000 laptop and am running DAO through steam
i love the game, its just so choppy and slow, i am not having loading time issues, just general poor gameplay
i am running all the In game graphics settings bare bones still no dice, here is my rig
2.2 ghz intel core duo proc.
Windows 7 Home premiem
nvidia gforce 8200 m g video card
4 GB ram
i know it shared ram and that sucks, but i only had 500 bucks for a laptop and this is the bet i could get for my money
if anyone is familiar with the nvidia control panel, and has any advice, i would greatly appreciate it.
i tried to see if i could set the video ram higher in the bios setting but there isnt an option.
this is my first post, i loev the game, just want it to run better.
thanks in advance guys.
DG

Return the laptop.
You can build a desktop for $500 that will run Dragon Age. With a few exceptions laptops will not run most games. That 8200M is nowhere near powerful enough to run Dragon Age well, it may run it but you will not be able to get to run much faster then you have now. I can "run" DA:O on my mini 311, sure it runs at 10 fps, but it "runs".
So realistically in your price range you can go for gaming, or mobility not both.

For $500 you can buy a decent netbook for downtime and a pretty good video card upgrade.
