Hopefully they find a cure for Kepral's Syndrome.
I can see them doing that, but I don't recall it being stated in either the game or codex that it threatens to drive their species into extinction. I can see the drell colonizing a more arid world in the future, though.

I know some aren't as popular as others, but they all have a right to exist (except Krogan).

If you're referring to the post from that guy who allegedly did the survey thing for Bioware, then (assuming it's legit) it sounds like they were trying to narrow down the choice of playable races. It wouldn't make much sense to remove some of them fom the game altogether - imagine if people picked Asari or Turians.
I agree.
I don't think they're going to 'remove' any.
If anything, maybe (assuming sequel and that Paine is legit) Krogan, Quarian, and Geth (maybe Rachni??) content will be pushed over to the side to be easily adjusted/removed from playthroughs depending on previous choices.
Maybe if we have multiple playable SP races, they could sell a $5-10 DLC pack of those 3 races. It'd probably have a neat name. I sure would pay $10 for Male/Female Quarian, Male/Female Krogan, and Geth (as long as my save file allows said choices). If there's already several race selections (Human, Asari, Salarians, Turians, New?, More?), that's more than fair in my eyes.
Or whatever.
I think Bioware just wanted to know what people liked, didn't like, what would be OK to 'feature cut' if it comes down to crunch time, what to maybe separate as DLC after all is said and done otherwise, and what new thoughts fans might have that they could consider - all before they make more 'officialish' announcements of content and features.

I wonder what the market is for Batarians? They can't be a very popular race, in-game and out-of-game.
Really? I think the mystery around them makes them seem awesome. I'd love to explore their homeworld, particularly since it was mostly devastated by the reapers and would probably still be in a rebuilding phase.

I dont know, but a chance to explore their other side would be intresting, like via a squadmate. Batarians as they are now were pretty much reduced to whipping boys of the whole trilogy. Everything bad that happened in the galaxy, it was the batarians. Intergalactic piracy and terrorism, it was the batarians. Theres certain things that got stereotyped for each race, for batarians, it was "terrorist". It got really tiring, at least IMO. Besides its hinted that they now have a chance to build a new, cause the hegemony is no more.

Batarians, mercenaries, plus Cerberus and scum like Elanos Haliat, who was clearly a human. They may have been the bad guys of the galaxy by hearsay but you spend a lot less time fighting explicitly Hegemony or specifically Batarian enemies than... well, all of the others.
Elanos Haliat was supposed to really be a turian, but they apparently forgot to change the model for him, which is still the place holder. Not too surprised, as ME1 seems unfinished in certain other places too..

Batarians should get the boot anyway, even according to lore they are a spent force. I also don't think that a rumour about two new races is true.
It takes several years to harvest a race, and the reapers were around what? Half a year at tops? No the batarians are still around.

I would go for them.
Ok, maybe not as playable, but in the game? Absolutely. Squadmate even.
Heck, I think Omega DLC's Bray almost felt like a setup to us enjoying more varied personalities in them.

No, please do. Get rid of asari, drell, and hanar. Cut the dead weight.

Yep.
As far as established story and hints-for-the-future go, the Batarians ares till kickin around, even trying to fight back (in a losing battle) on their territory, but the Hegemony itself is destroyed and the people freed of it have little love for it. There is honesly (like with the other 'outcast races') a chance of renewal for the Batarians.
