The Scenario:

Basically, on this thread I pretend to be a journalist. I am a radio host on an official Alliance properganda radio station.

You role play as your favorite personally created Commander Shepard and answer questions in character. (You can do this with more than one Shepard if you want).

This interview is set after the events of Mass Effect 3. Shepard chose the destroy ending [or control ending if you want] and was somehow rescued. No longer fit to be a soldier due to sustaining immense injuries, Shepard was forced to retire from the Alliance Millitary.
______________________________________________________________________________________
  • It is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. For those of you who didn't know, I am speaking to the legendary Commander Shepard. First Human Spectre, Savior of the Galaxy and Vanquisher of the Reapers.

Before we start the interview, do you have  a message for the fans?
  • I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? [Take into account that Shepard has sustained injuries but is still mobile, when answering this question]
  • Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?

  • Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?

  • Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?

  • You had a long history of exploring th egalaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?

  • What made you want to join the Alliance?

  • How has your childhood made you the person you are today?

  • During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?

  • Sorry to the listeners. I'm getting loads of suggestions for possible questions I could ask Commander Shepard. Sadly because this is an Alliance broadcast, I'm not allowed to ask questions regarding the Baterians, Cerberus, the Shadow Broker or the Rachni.

However there is one thing on this list of suggested questions I can ask. What was it like meeting the Catalyst (or Star Child)?
  • Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
  • What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
  • What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer)

  • My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?

  • Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?

  • Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?

  • Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?

  • After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?

  • Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?

  • Thank you. It's been a pleasure.:)

Is it the entire concept of the interview you find utter drivel, or is it just the questions?

If it's the latter, perhaps you could propose your own questions.

Well this seems like fun. I'll give you some responses from Klaus Shepard. Colonist/Ruthless, but don't let his background fool you, he's mostly paragade, often being very polite, just with some genocidal tendencies with regards to Batarians and later Geth after ME1.

1. Thanks for having me British Abe, I just want to thank the fans for their massive support. Without their almost cult like adoration of my exploits, Cerberus would never have seen me as valuable enough to bring back to life.

2. Well, with my injuries I've mostly been relegated to fundraising rather than field work. But I feel the vids are really important to the cause and help moral. I actually just released a new one where I sock the catalyst in the jaw. Kinda wish I thought to do that in real life.

3. All the time.

4. Supply your own kinetic barriers. The alliance claims to provide them, but you look at the combat vids, and the shields never seem to work when they ought to. I saw a guy gunned down in seconds by a frikken recon drone once. Not pretty.

5. Plan to blow up some reaper cores in place of fireworks. What with gunpowder being so hard to find and reaper corpses so bountiful. By the way you're welcome for that galaxy *winks at camera*

6. I only regret that the reapers were able to burn Khar'Shan before I got a shot at it, Abe.

7. I thought it would be the perfect place to kill Batarians, I was not disappointed.

8. You know, I think I had a fairly normal childhood. Grew up on the frontier, had a robodog growing up, family was brutally murdered in front of me by goddam, no better than pyjak, Batarians. You know, the usual. But I like to think I've learned from these hardships, in particular, I've learned how to make my foes experience the same trauma I've gone through.

9. Well, once I got it through their heads that we would all die without helping each other it was fairly easy. I only had to solve two century spanning conflicts to do it. And as for the Geth, while I can't say there are any for us, I can also conclusively say that there were none against us once I was done with negotiations. And by that I left none alive for there to be against us. I feel it was a good trust building exercise for humanity and Quarians to destroy those alliance space invading synthetics together.

10. Honestly, I think there was a medpack malfunction when I was up there, because I felt as high as a kite during that meeting. Like nothing made sense, words were contradicting, and I was acting completely unlike my normal self.

I also woke up the next day starving and in rubble. It was like freshman year of college all over again.

11. Mako, it had bigger guns.

12. Claymore. It was the biggest gun. Though I later tried and liked the black widow and Widow, but the crew kept asking if I was compensating for something so I stopped. Well, Miranda never asked, but she knew better *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

13. My lawyers advise me not to answer that question. I'm currently in the process of dealing with some lawsuits on that matter.

14. Only if it's used for finding faster and more efficient ways of destroying reaper tech.

15. You know, I received a message about it, but I put it in junk mail thinking it was just another moneymaking scam by some Nigerian or Canadian prince.

16. Vanguard, I thought it would be the best use of my biotic ability. That ability being bashing skulls in a relativistic speeds.

17. Nope, doesn't stand a chance, but I'll be dead long before it all falls apart Haha. Kinda feel sorry for Grunt and Liara though.

Uh, my PR guy is yelling at me to tell you that this question should probably remain off the record.

18. Just to sit at the beach collecting royalty checks and drinking mojitos.

19. Don't worry men, with the state of things I'll doubt you'll be out of work for long :D

20. Thank you *punchs Abraham*

Sorry….. old habit.

It is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. For those of you who didn't know, I am speaking to the legendary Commander Shepard. First Human Spectre, Savior of the Galaxy and Vanquisher of the Reapers.

Before we start the interview, do you have  a message for the fans?
Thanks for their support and hard work; reconstructing our homes is not an easy task and we all share the scare of what happened with the reapers, we all lost loved ones but we must still live to the fullest for them and especialy for those who are still alive.
I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? [Take into account that Shepard has sustained injuries but is still mobile, when answering this question]
Surprisingly, it's rather a diplomatic activity, which is not what i expect, being a vanguard and all.
Reconstructing the galaxy is not about earth and our colonnies alone; as mentionned above, the scare we all share means all species have to rebuild their homes, and cooperation between them helps to accelerate the process.
We need power sources, we need brain, we need transport, we need "man" power ... we are reconstruction the galaxy as a whole, not every specie does it on their own, so we share any means that could helps anyones to fix things and solve problems when it is possible... ressources are still at the minimum, it's a really hard work.

As for me, why i'm involved in this ?, it is because enough people believed that my part in bringing many species to fight the reapers together made me the right personne to represent the human "diplomat".
Also, i'm a specter and i do not favor any species in particular. Seems like Turians and Krogans like the fact that i'm no politician and that i speak frankly ... dealing with the problem head on is my... vanguard habit.
Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
Depend of who, for most of them yes, especialy Garus, Tali, Wrex, because they are all involved in the reconstruction of the galaxy project; the Normandy SR1 proved years ago that cooperation between our species accomplished great things for the intrest of the galaxy.

I do have contact with lot of other friends and collegues... when i can, but we are all busy... we do not meet or chat as much as we want, but it's to be expected.

As for Liara, we try to live together as much we can for ours daughters; they will live far longer than me and we want to build as much memory of our family while we can, but the reconstruction project take from us lot of time.
Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
Yeah, protecting your loved ones is not enough. If it is your sole purpose, there is other ways to accomplish that.
The alliance represent humanity's in the eyes of the galaxy. It is a great challeng that involve both martial strengh and responsability toward the galactic community.
Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
Two things. First of course will be the comemoration of those who sacrified their life. They did it so we, the survivor could rebuild and living. We must never forget their action.
There will be different delegation of different species to honnor all of the veteran.
The second things, will be some private time later with my family... i was Lucky to survive and fight the reapers many years because i wanted for my friends and loved ones to stay alive. I'm sure many veteran is thinking the same.
You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
Regrets ... yes, when you have people diyng under your command, ... sometimes you even ask them to sacrifice themself, there is no way i would have no regrets. Many people out there lost their father, mother, friends, because of me, i can't ignore that.
But would i do it in other way ? no.
At that time it was tough decision, and those who sacrified them self at my command were aware of it.
When it happend, i swear to myself to get stronger, to spare more life if i could make safer passage, kill more annemys.
When i started my military career, i was preatty much head on on the front. i saw many marine die, it called for me to push my habilitys forward to increase the surival of my fellow marines... but it was not enough yet, so i kept growing stronger, going through N7, being promoted... and still sent mens to their death because there was no other choices.
I realised then that i couldn't do it alone. It opened my eyes; if i wanted my mens to stay alive, mission parameters, intel, ressources and team mate knowledge was the key... not personnal muscle and killing hability alone.
What made you want to join the Alliance?
I was raised on the street, i wanted... a better life ? i don't know, what i know is i didn't want to keep this life at that time.
How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
Ah, when you spend you childhood to survive on the street, you have to "fight" every day even if it is always violent.
Also, power and making things done grant you followers, but they are no friends.
Real friends does not lick your boots and agree with you for everything. I was alone. So, may be that's why i joined the alliance in the end, to stop being with people that kissed my ass only to get what they wanted from me, not just to have a place to sleep and food to eat everyday. We can't help but live among other, and i think being a selfish personne bring only auto destruction, or at least becoming a nuisance for other.
I'm blessed with many friends today, we laught, we argue, we help each other without asking for something else in exchange later ... So, if my childhood taugh something beside being ready to fight 24/24 for survival, it's human nature.
During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
As i said before, the SR1 was a good starting ground, and as we were one of the first squad to fight against the reapers, my friends ended being designated by their species as "reapers expert" if it means anything. That helped a lot, especialy with the Turians and Quarians. For the Krogans, Wrex took the lead by provings his worth and dedication to Krogans as a whole; it was not easy to make them cooperate in first place with the Turians but Wrex knew i would not try sneaky a move behind his back, not my still. I already headbutted a krogan on tutchanka so, Wrex believed that if i planed something i would be honest enough to do it frankly.

For the Geth, it was much more complicated. Krogans didn't liked Turians, but they were not engaged in a war, Quarian and Geth were actualy fighting at that time. I'm glad i had enough support on Quarians admiralty board to believe in a peacefull resolution... not small task thanks to Legion that helped us lowering the Geth military impact on the Quarian fleets, then sacrified itself for the intrest of his people and the peace with the Quarians.
Sorry to the listeners.

I was already bleeding from a gun shot and i had serval injury... so i could say it was already hard to keep it together, at that point, meeting the Catalyst ? ah why not ...
We knew year ago from Sauvreign that the citadel was not made by protheans and served in fact as a trap for reapers plan, so there was definitly something fishy hidden within the citadel.
Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
Both and none, it's like comparing a bird and a fish. I like the mako fire power and heavy armor, and i like the hammerhead manoeuvrability.
If i was forced to pick one though, i would say the hammerhead, you can't die if you are not hit. Also, when you do not die no matter how much you get shot at, it ****** off the ennemy, and an annemy that lost his cool is make more mistake and become more vulnerable.
I was told that i'm really good at pissing off my ennemys hahaha.
What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
While i used mostly shotguns, i had a fetsih for heavy pistol. Head shooting multiple targets in a row is more stylish.
What is your favorite store on the Citadel?Posted Image (Does not require a serious answer)
The one that offer me discount ! I like shopping.
My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?
I opposed and fought reapers to their very core, because i believed we could, no "we had" to make our own destiny. To be honest, we had some small reapers technologie on our side, such as EDI, and the Geth were also using reaper code. However i do not support reaper tech.
Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
Yes, he was one persone of his time, it is hard to judge a whole race from one individu that was born and raised during the reaper invasion.
Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?
Vanguard. I was talented with biotics but from my childhood, i also needed more ... contact head to head during a fight. Vanguard matched my mood. As for the training, .... it's not really training you know, at least for me, when it is question of life and death in the first line of attack, you have to use everything you can to stay alive and it often means being deadly.
So you push yourself physicaly and mentaly to the limite; i do not see it as "training", military training is not enough. It give you the basics, but after, each individu have to push their potential above that if they intend to survive and kill on the battle field. Also, being unable to become a beast when fighting means you can endanger your fellow marines.
That's why i said that people who just want to protect their loved one by being in the alliance is not a good enough reason in my opinion.
What role did your childhood play in shaping the person you are today?
Didn't i answered this question already ?
After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
A lot, when you have family and friends spread over the galaxy, there is lot of things we want to do !
It won't be flashy though, raising my kids is my top priority but Garrus said the drinks is on him next time we meet.
Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
Yes.
Because we faught and survived a threat that harvested lives every 50 000 years does not mean peace will last forever between us and other races.
There is no "magic" solution to bring and keep peace, it's a constant fight and it better be diplomatic rather than on a battle field.
We have to face the truth, each race have their own identity and culture, and we can't erase something like this; we humans are pround to be who and what we are, and so does the other races, we have to respect that as they have to respect us.
So if we all want to keep what we are proud of because it define us, then we have to accept that the peace is not granded and we all have to work hard to keep it, every single day.
A war is a fight every day for survival, peace is a fight everyday to avoid war.

This scenario does not work for my Shepard who chooses Control ending. I'll consider it to be post-Rannoch Arc but pre-Thessia instead.

Marion Alexandretta Shepard, Spacer, War Hero, Infiltrator, 58% Paragon
Before we start the interview, do you have a message for the fans?
The key to a good day is a big and healthy breakfast.
Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
As much as I am able to.
Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
Work on your aerobics and balance training. Practice facing your worst fears.
Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
The usual. I will be cooking and enjoying dinner at an Alliance outpost. Sorry - I can't tell you which one. :) I am expecting Major Alenko to join me though. :D
You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
I wish I had visited the Salarian homeworld earlier and learned more from them, under more peaceful circumstances.
What made you want to join the Alliance?
My parents' work. Watching them made me realize I can make a difference here too.
How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
I was always on the move with my parents. I lived on dozens of different ships and star systems. I supppose that gave me the ability to make friends quickly and be accepting of a variety of cultures and attitudes.
During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
I try to explain objectively from their point of view how we could help each other.
Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
I miss the Mako's cannon and the Hammerhead's engines. If I must pick, I'd pick the Mako.
What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
I can't go into details but I will say I rely very heavily on Hahne-Kedar and Kassa Fabrication. I find their equipments most reliable. :) Geth technologies are extremely effective too but I realize they are not for everyone.

You are also welcome to Armax Arsenal Arena to see me in action. 15% of the ticket price you pay for my matches there go to support the war effort.
What is your favorite store on the Citadel?
Sorry, I signed an agreement with C-Sec to not endorse any specific one. -_- But seriously, it's the Citadel - anything there is excellent.
My listeners would like to know, do you support the use of Reaper tech?
I defer to the judgment of technical experts more qualified than I. Personally I think technology has no will of its own - any technology can be used both for good and for evil. It depends entirely on the user.
Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
The Protheans are fascinating and I wish to learn more about them. That's all I will say.
Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?
Infiltrator.

Training never stops for me. There are new things to learn every week. Military technology is advancing very quickly in this time of war. Thermal clips didn't even exist a few years back.
Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
Compared to a Disunited Galactic Community? I'm sure the future would be brighter. -_-
After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
That's a loooong way ahead, isn't it? Do YOU have any future plans? Maybe you can give me a few pointers. :)
Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
Every battle is different, but you are the same soldier.
Thank you. It's been a pleasure.
I should go.

This interview is set after the events of Mass Effect 3. Shepard chose the destroy ending and was somehow rescued. No longer fit to be a soldier due to sustaining immense injuries, Shepard was forced to retire from the Alliance Millitary.

Bernadette Shepard, Infiltrator. Neutral. Made peace, cured genophage. Born on Mindoir.

"Hi kids! And please, can we dispense with that 'Savior' and 'Vanquisher' stuff? I couldn't have done it without the support I got from my squadmates."
  • I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? "Well, I've been just kind of doing these interviews, and raising money to help get food to the children who are going hungry in hard to reach parts of the galaxy."
  • Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates? "It's mighty nice to hear their voices. I miss all of them. They were dear friends of mine, and I hope that we all can get together again real soon."

  • Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary? "Stay in school, kids. Learn how to do something you love. We all need to learn how to get along."

  • Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion? "I'll probably be spending it trying to get hold of some of my old friends."

  • You had a long history of exploring th egalaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?  "Of course I do, but there's only so much one person can do. You know the saying. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

  • What made you want to join the Alliance? "Quite honestly, the economy was kind of poor when I got out of school and I needed a job to pay my student loans."

  • How has your childhood made you the person you are today? "I was born on Mindoir. My parents were killed by slavers when I was 16. I don't like slavers too much."

  • During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support? "I'd like to think it was my charm and good looks, hon."

"Meeting the what?"
  • Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?  "Mako"
  • What was your weapon/s of choice during missions? "I used my Widow and my Carnifex."
  • What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer) "Purgatory. Aria was one of my best friends during the war. Now that she's back on Omega, i miss her."

  • My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech? "Do you support the use of the Mass Relays? Of course you do. What kind of silly question is this?"

  • Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]? "Yes I did. His name is Javik. He used to be a general among his people. He was harsh, but all he knew his entire life was war. He said he was going to give peace a chance after the war and help Dr. Liara write a book."

  • Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class? "I was an Infiltrator. I had to learn how to sneak around and pop up and shoot the bad guys without being seen first."

  • Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it? "I think it does. I hope it does. Our children have seen enough war in their lives. Don't they deserve peace?"

  • After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans? "I'd like to travel to Illium and see my dear friend Dr. T'soni again. I just wish they'd hurry and fix those relays."

  • Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans? "Yes I do. Hi, y'all. This is Commander Bernadette Shepard. I want to wish you all a Happy Galaxy Veterans Day. And I hope y'all are receiving the support you need from the Systems Alliance  Veterans Association, and the Systems Alliance Government. If you are not, bug the hell out of them because they owe you big time for saving their sorry asses. Thank you."

  • Thank you. It's been a pleasure.:)  "Bye kids."

Elizabeth Nancy Shepard. Earthborn renegade ruthless soldier

1)  The only message I like to pass on is to say thank you for all the support. It means a lot.

2)  My duties is to help with getting Earth back on its toes as quickly as possible. I coordinate both soldiers and scientists as well as medical teams to areas that are needed the most.

3) The only squadmates I keep in touch with is James and Ashley. And that is far and few between. I also at times have talk with Miranda Lawson.

4) The only advice I can to people who want to join the Alliance is to do your best and do more if you want to move up the ranks.

5) At the moment, I will be spending the day with my soon-to-be-wife Samantha Traynor.

6) At the moment I can't think of any regrets

7) I joined the Alliance cause at the time I was living on the street being a thug with no possible future. The Alliance gave me that opportunity.

8) Yes it did. I was a tough broad that could hold my own in any kind of situation.

9) Through deceit and lies. I did what I had to do to save the Galaxy, especially Earth.

10) The only Catalyst that I know of is the Citadel itself.. What happened is when the Citadel arms were fuly opened, it fired some kind of pulse that disabled the shields of the reapers.

11) The Mako. Bouncing around never gets old.

12) I carried the Mattlock Assault rifle and the Black Widow Sniper rifle.

13) Hard to say. They all offer stuff that appeals to me.

14) No. What I like to is the reaper corpses melted down and used to help rebuild the cities.

15) Yes. He was like me. Always speaking his mind with no remorse.

16) Soldier. I went to basic training and then served two years on Earth at my duty station. My Commander noticed how well I was doing and asked if I would be interested in joining the N7 program. I did and it was tough. It tested me both mentally and physically. The traing involved freefalling from certain heights, leading a squad through actual combat situations. Training with all weapons at my disposal. Even did hand-to-hand training.

17) Right now I'm just wooried about Earth and its future. When we have Earth squared away, I will worry about the rest of the Galaxy at that time.

18) Getting married and according to Samantha she wants me pregnant as soon as possible.

19) Thank you all for the help in defeating the reapers.

20) Have a nice day.

John Shepard, Earthborn, Sole Survivor, Soldier, Unfettered True Neutral. Miranda romancer and Cerberus supporter.

This isn't what I'd actually say, but this is a reflection of my Shepard's true character.

1) Get your facts straight. I'm not with the alliance. I haven't been with the alliance in years. I'd never associate with them. They damned you to death because they couldn't face the real threat. And all of you who did nothing, have nothing but my scorn. All of you in the alliance and Council who were content to stick your head in the dirt and let the Reapers come to Earth and the other homeworlds and start annihilating our cities before you decided that maybe, just maybe, the Reapers were real deserve nothing but scorn and abandon. Only one group had the foresight to see ahead. Only one group took active measures to stop the Reapers, no matter what it took or who they sacrificed. Only one group didn't treat me as a liability and sweep me under the rug while using my image as a propaganda tool for recruiting, only to come running back to me to save them once their bubble had been burst. Only one group had the logic and sense to do something about the Reapers before they arrived.

2) Rebuilding the galaxy project? That's a tactful way of saying restarting Cerberus and picking up where the Illusive Man left off. We're taking Reaper tech and building a strong base of new, advanced technology to bring humanity to the forefront of technology and industry. By the way, I'm not injured or disabled.

3) Most of them are dead. They died doing their job. They signed up for the job, they knew what would happen. It comes with the job.

4) If you're a shill who likes to think small and adhere to a very narrow set of moral framework and deludes oneself with naive notions of patriotism and self-righteousness, the alliance is for you. For those of you who want to truly make a difference and are willing to do whatever it takes to bring that future forward, your skills would be wasted. Come, join us. We'll be waiting, and watching, and we will make a real impact.

5) Working, networking, gathering assets, gaining power. Doing what needs to be done for the galaxy.

6) Only one. Assigning a soldier, Kaidan Alenko, to arm the bomb on Virmire while saving Ashley Williams. The only reason I saved her over Kaidan, a far more useful and capable teammate, was because I needed a sexual release. Looking back, I should have left her behind. It would have spared me a headache.

7) The desire to go out and do something in the galaxy. To explore, to experience, to be. To get away from what was.

8) It didn't.

9) Threats, coercion, diplomacy, assassination, kidnapping, murder, lying...

Whatever worked. I did what I had to do.

10) It was an AI, like any other, and one that obviously had a flawed stipulation in its goals that made it logic bomb into accepting a premise that was far more overblown than it should have been. And he was a grim little bastard too.

11) The Hammerhead.

12) The Cerberus Harrier

13) The store that gave me a discount

14) Fully. In fact, what do you think my new Cerberus is doing?

15) Yes. He was like me.

16) A Soldier. And I went through Basic Training. Like every soldier.

17) Nope. In fact, I'm actively working to make the galaxy into my own vision of what things should be.

18) Plenty.

19) You played your part well. Now it's time to play mine.

20) I'm sure.

1. STAY IN SCHOOL. DON'T DO DRUGS. DO NOTHING THAT WOULD NECESSITATE NEUTRALIZATION.
2. REBUILDING THE GALAXY IS, FOR NOW, THE PRIME FUNCTION OF MY GUARDIANS. THEY ARE VERY ACTIVE IN ALL ASPECTS OF RECONSTRUCTION.
3. I HAVE TRILLIONS OF EYES. MANY ARE UPON THEM AT ALL TIMES.
4. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE PRICE YOU PAY TO DO SO. BE PREPARED TO GIVE MORE THAN YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD.
5. CONTINUE TO REBUILD. IT IS THE MOST EFFICIENT MEANS OF HONORING THE SACRIFICE OF THE FALLEN.
6. NUMEROUS. NONE MATTER ANY LONGER.
7. THE DESTRUCTION OF MY HOMEWORLD AT THE HANDS OF SLAVERS. I VOWED TO LET NO SUCH THING HAPPEN AGAIN IF I POSSESSED THE POWER TO PREVENT IT.
8. SEE PREVIOUS ANSWER.
9. NUMEROUS ACTS OF SERVICE. I RAN MY FLESHLY BODY RAGGED, BUT THE PRICE WAS WORTH IT.
10. ENLIGHTENING. FRUSTRATING. ASCENDING.
11. THE HAMMERHEAD. BUT I TRULY NO LONGER MISS EITHER.
12. THE PARTICLE RIFLE AND MY BIOTICS.
13. I AM THE CITADEL.
14. I WILL GIVE YOU A MOMENT TO PROCESS THE LIKELY NECESSITY OF THIS QUESTION.
15. YES. HE WAS A POWERFUL WARRIOR, AND THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF MANY SUPPOSED TO BUILD A NEW EMPIRE. HIS PERSPECTIVE WAS MOST INTERESTING.
16. ADEPT. BIOTIC. IT IS ISOLATED AND ISOLATING, AND FEW ASCEND TO POSITIONS OF LEADERSHIP AS KAIDAN AND I DID.
17. I WILL ENSURE IT.
18. ENSURING THE GALAXY STAYS REBUILT.
19. YOUR SACRIFICE AND THAT OF THE FALLEN WAS NOT IN VAIN. THE MANY WILL BE PROTECTED.
20. FAREWELL, ORGANIC.

  • It is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. For those of you who didn't know, I am speaking to the legendary Commander Verity Shepard. First Human Spectre, Savior of the Galaxy and Vanquisher of the Reapers.

Before we start the interview, do you have  a message for the fans?
  • I don't see tham as fans, just  people who are thankful for their very existence.  Not just to me, but everyone who made terrible sacrifices to get us through it all.  I'd just like to thank everyone for their continued support and honour those who didn't make it to the other side.
  • I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? [Take into account that Shepard has sustained injuries but is still mobile, when answering this question]
  • These day, mainly co-ordinating, diplomacy, building on the unity we created against the Reapers.  If the Reapers taught us nothing else, we can do anything if we can work together.
  • Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
  • Of course.  Obviously, I see Liara every day, but that's no big secret.  The crew don't meet as often as any of us would like but thankfully my work sends me across the galaxy so I get the chance to pop in for a coffee with friends.  I will say though, it's 'interesting' to speak with the Council now that we have Councillor Tali'Zorah.

  • Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
  • Be sure that you're ready to make that commitment.  Interestingly, it's not quite how it was when I joined.  The galaxy has relative peace right now, so the fleet is mainly concerned with humanitarion concerns.  I see that as a good thing.  That said, the Terminus Systems are still a problem.  I'd personally hoped that after an event such as the Reapers, the 'badlands' wouldn't be so any more.  Some things never change though and there are those still willing to fight for their ill-gotten stakes.  Some disagree, but I'm trying to work with Aria T'Loak at Omega, see if we can make some headway into at least calming things down so safe passage can be assured for innocent cargo ships.  Yes, there's always work be done in the Alliance, so if you are thinking of joining up, you'd better be prepared to roll up your sleaves and get busy.

  • Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
  • I'm going to be with the Destiny's Ascension for the celebrations, we're doing a tour of the galaxy.  Seems to be tradition now and people like seeing that grand craft, like it's a sign continuity.
  • You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
  • Difficult decisions are part of the job for both an N7 and a Spectre, you face them every day.  Did I always make the right call?  Hm.  *dead air*  I'll let history decide that.

  • What made you want to join the Alliance?
  • After I lost my parents in the attack on my colony, the Alliance looked after me well.  I wanted to do my part, protect other colonies like mine.  It was an easy choice for me.

  • How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
  • I'd rather not talk about that.

  • During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
  • I'd personally had good relations with most species, even before the war.  Our work on the Normandy SR-1 proved that a multi-species co-operative operation was viable.  With the support of my squad, that made inroads to galactic co-operation much easier.  Though really, once the truth was out, none of us had much choice but to work together.

  • Sorry to the listeners. I'm getting loads of suggestions for possible questions I could ask Commander Shepard. Sadly because this is an Alliance broadcast, I'm not allowed to ask questions regarding the Batarians, Cerberus, the Shadow Broker or the Rachni.
  • However there is one thing on this list of suggested questions I can ask. What was it like meeting the Catalyst (or Star Child)?
  • Have you met Avina?  It's just like that, a VI, only more obnoxious.
  • Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
  • To be honest, I miss the SR-1 more.  That was a damn fine ship.
  • What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?  Oh.  For the listeners, Commander Shepard is holding up her hands and they're glowing a quite intense blue... aaaand there goes my coffee out of the window.  Impressive.
  • *sound of Shepard laughing*
  • What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer)
  • My favourite place on the Citadel has to be the Presidium commons.  Really peaceful there.  Me and Liara sometimes just sit for hours watching the world go by.  When I thought we'd lost the Citadel, I surprised myself that what initially concerned me most was not being able to do that again.

  • My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?
  • That goes under the category of 'Batarians, Cerberus, the Shadow Broker or the Rachni'.

  • Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
  • Javik, yes, a real live Prothean.  He's just a person like anyone else really.  Obviously, he had initial difficulty adjusting to our galaxy after fifty thousand years in stasis, waking to find his people gone, but he was an asset to the team.  And I'm glad that he and his cycle got the closure they wanted.

  • Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?
  • I was the 'Adept' class, biotic specialist basically.  After my colony was destroyed, I joined an Alliance training facility as a cadet, under Captain Hamish Dumas.  I owe everything I am today to Hamish.  I was pretty angry and lost when I was a teenager, losing my parents and all that but the Captain whipped me into shape, pushed me to complete the N7 programme.  He passed on a while back but I still miss that old hardass.

  • Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
  • I'll just say this: It had better!  I'm not gone yet!

  • After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
  • I'm pretty beat up but I've still got life in me.  Liara still has excavations she'd like to carry out, that sounds nice; just us two wandering the galaxy, no fear of Reapers or Collectors or whatever, just us.  And talk of blue children is never far from our lips...
  • Is Liara...?
  • Batarians, Cerberus, the Shadow Broker or the Rachni.

  • Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
  • It's been my honour to work with military from across the galaxy and I'll see you all on the other side.

  • Thank you. It's been a pleasure.:)

Sorry late entry, also it's a bit of a rambling mess!

The wounded soldier little resembled the pictures of the first human Spectre, Lieutenant Commander Jean Shepard. The shrunken form looked swamped in the civilian clothing and there were odd patches of ginger stubble along the now gaunt looking cheeks. The self-powered wheelchair moved smoothly along the studio’s floor before coming to a stop opposite the journalist.
The interviewer watched as the woman who had accompanied the Spectre handed him a pair of headphones, Shepard grimaced and put them over his ears; and the host started speaking.

“It is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. For those of you who didn't know, I am speaking to the legendary Commander Shepard.”
The Spectre grimaced at the word legendary.
The journalist continued, “First Human Spectre, Savior of the Galaxy and Vanquisher of the Reapers.” There was a pause before the first question was asked, “Before we start the interview, do you have a message for the fans?”
Shepard leaned closer to the studio microphone. “I hope your fans,” the Spectre’s voice sounded tired, “understand there may be times when I cannot answer their questions fully.” The Spectre’s head nodded slightly to indicate the journalist should continue.

The journalist took the cue, asking, “I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail?”
“Nothing too physically strenuous,” the Spectre replied, “I spend a lot of my time with other wounded veterans. Helping us come to terms with the aftermath.”

The journalist asked his next question after it became apparent Shepard did not intend to expand on his new role. “Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?”
“No,” Shepard lied, drawing an off-microphone snort from the dark-haired woman who had accompanied him, “we all…drifted apart after the war.”

The interviewer hurried onto his next question, “Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?”
The Spectre shifted on his wheelchair, trying to find a more comfortable position as he responded. “Talk it over,” Shepard advised, “with your friends, your family, the personnel at the recruitment office. Don’t step into it lightly – not everyone is right for military life; and do not feel pressurised into enlisting. No-one has anything to prove – everyone listening survived something that had exterminated every previous galactic civilisations for untold centuries.”

“Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?” the journalist was curious.
“Participating,” was Shepard’s response, “remembering; hoping.” The Spectre sat, waiting for the next question.

“You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?” the host asked hurriedly.
“Some,” was all Shepard said and shook his head at the journalist’s inquiring look.

The interviewer started to look harried as he asked, “What made you want to join the Alliance?”
The edges of Shepard’s mouth lifted into a slight smile. “A girl,” the Spectre explained, “A friend; not the best of reasons – and as it turned out not the best of relationships. Things fell apart shortly afterwards.” Shepard grimaced, “Afterwards it just seemed easier to carry on, keep pushing outwards. I had always intended to resign, join one of the exploration firms. I just never did.”

The journalist looked surprised at the Spectre’s answer, before remembering to ask his next question, “How has your childhood made you the person you are today?”
“I spent a lot of time on ships, stations,” Shepard reminisced, “always made me curious about what else was out there; made me curious who else was out there.”

“During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?” the journalist asked.
The Spectre gave a level stare at the interviewer and even with now-sunken eyes it conveyed his irritation well enough. “That is one of those questions I mentioned earlier,” Shepard told the journalist, “those events are still classified. Move on.”

“Sorry to the listeners. I'm getting loads of suggestions for possible questions I could ask Commander Shepard. Sadly because this is an Alliance broadcast, I'm not allowed to ask questions regarding the Baterians, Cerberus, the Shadow Broker or the Rachni,” the journalist explained. “However there is one thing on this list of suggested questions I can ask. What was it like meeting the Catalyst (or Star Child)?”
Shepard sat silent, a look of pain crossing his face. The interviewer sat opposite the Spectre started fidgeting, becoming uncomfortable in the silence. “Interesting,” Shepard’s throat had become dry, transforming his voice, “horrible, madness.” The Spectre broke off, swallowing before continuing, “What happened there – should never have happened. Whatever insanity bred it; almost destroyed us. It should be left behind, remembered, but left behind us.”

The journalist looked through his questions, selecting one that he thought would lighten the mood in the room, “Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?”
Both Shepard and the brunette gave a thankful smile. “The Mako,” Shepard responded, “it had it’s quirks but it did what was asked of it. It’s the quirks that make things interesting, sometimes when things are claimed to be improved or perfected – they lose something intangible.” Shepard’s companion gave him a pointed stare. –Sometimes- the Spectre mouthed silently to her.

“What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?” the journalist asked, thankful for the lighter mood that was developing.
The Spectre gave a grin. “Strangely enough it was the Avenger rifle – the successor to the old Lancer,” Shepard told the journalist, “They’re ubiquitous, no matter where I was, whomever I was facing – an Avenger would always turn up. It became a kind of running joke aboard the Normandy.”

The journalist tried to maintain the jovial atmosphere, asking, “What is your favorite store on the Citadel?
“I don’t shop all that much,” Shepard admitted, “although there was a tech shop on the Zakera Wards that helped me clear a young quarian accused of theft once. The clerk there was a salarian called…Marab – a good person.”

The journalist asked another question, “My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?”
“No,” Shepard was adamant, “the technology there isn’t needed – and has never proven to be safe to handle in the past.” The Spectre became agitated, “We don’t need to use some dark legacy of monsters – we’re better than that. What we accomplish is from our own efforts, not a hand-me-down derived from torture and mutilation. Otherwise what do we condone for the future?”

The journalist looked uncomfortable with Shepard’s position – asking, when the Spectre had finished, “Is it true that you met the last living Prothean?”
“No,” Shepard shook his head, “I don’t know how that story ever got started. I suppose it’s one of those myths that people conjure up from time to time. It’s fun because it is so implausible, I keep hoping people know better than to take it seriously.” Shepard’s voice dropped into a stage whisper, “I’d actually heard it’s an old asari joke, they say it about every new species that arrive on the Citadel; usually sometime during the new-comers’ first century. The asari find it funny because no-one else remembers the last time they used it.”

The journalist shook his head. “Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?” they asked.
“I was a foot-slogger,” Shepard told the journalist. “A marine,” the Spectre clarified at the interviewer’s prompting, “nothing extraordinary until I passed selection for the ICT; after that? During the training they throw what you think is everything at you, then if you pass, you realise they didn’t – not by a long shot.”

The interviewer was approaching the last of his questions, “Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?”
“I hope it does,” Shepard answered, “others hope so to; we’ll have to see.”

The journalist asked his penultimate question for his guest, “After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?”
“Nothing special,” Shepard evaded, “just some private matters – nothing that would be of interest.” Shepard’s companion gave the Spectre a silent glare, clenching her fists angrily – and drawing the journalist’s attention to a ring that glittered on her fourth finger, the one just next to her pinkie. The journalist’s eyebrows rose, inviting a clarification. None was forth-coming.

The interviewer looked disappointed and asked his final question, “Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?”
“I am sorry,” Shepard addressed the audience, “I am sorry for what we endured, what we continue to endure. What was asked of us, of everyone, was terrible. I am sorry that so much was lost, that I chose,” Shepard’s voice wavered. “I am sorry that I chose…” Shepard’s trailed off and he shook his head, before tearing off the headphones.

The journalist closed the Spectre’s microphone as he uncertainly told his listeners, “Thank you. It's been a pleasure.”

Since I had so much fun with the first one, I figured I'd do one for my canon Shep. John Shepard, mostly Paragon, Earthborn, Sole Survivor.

1. I would just like to thank them for all the support over the years. Really helped me to get through some of the harder moments in my career.

2. I've mostly been doing charity work, on top of participating in human diplomatic efforts with the various species of the united fleet. It really helps when you've been on the same squad as several different political leaders and the occasional head of state.

Of course I've also been participating in charity work. My partner Tali'Zorah and I have even started our own, trying to bring attention to the large number of orphans from the war in need of a loving family. In that regard we have decided to lead by example by adopting the two newest members of the Shepard family, Elizabeth and Kal.

3. Well I've certainly kept in touch with Tali *laughs*. But you don't go through the things we have without developing a certain bond. I try to stay in regular contact with them all, though some are still on active duty which makes regular visits infrequent, but I would say we all have remained close friends.

4. You are needed just as much now as before. The fighting may be over, but there is still a lot of work needed to be done to recover. Get a good education, develop your skills, and do your best to help. And a special shout out to the engineers, the relays aren't going to rebuild themselves, and the more minds on the project the better.

5. Well, this sort of ties in to your third question Abraham. For a while now I've been coordinating with my squad, and we've all managed to ensure that we will be in Rio on that day to have a reunion of sorts, we are going to do a joint message for the media, and then I plan on collecting all the drinks I'm owed by the crew.

6. That is a tough question. Were there things I wish I could do over, certainly, but hindsight is 20/20, and I stand by the fact that all the decisions I made I believed were in the galaxy's best interest at the time.

7. I had a rough childhood, and I got involved with the wrong sorts of people for too long. The Alliance offered me a chance to do something better with my life, something worthwhile. I took that chance and never looked back.

8. Like I said, I made some poor decisions as a child, but I learned from every one of them. I like to think they gave me a better understanding of the way the world is, and how it can be improved for future generations.

9. A lot of elbow grease and aggressive negotiations. Look, we were all panicking when the reapers hit, and some of us just needed to be reminded that we had to stand together to win, and that without cooperation, defeat would be inevitable.

10. I don't know where you heard about that. Not to be impolite, but as I understand, all information regarding the catalyst and the inner workings of the crucible remain classified.

What I do think I can tell you though is that I think things could have turned out a lot worse. We have all experienced hardships and tragedy with the loss of the relays and synthetic life in the case of the Geth, but that price, however high, paid for life's future free of the reapers.

11. Mako. I never really got to use the hammerhead enough to really get attached to it, and the mako is a classic piece of military hardware.

12. Oh, that's a good question, but I would have to say the Black Widow. It may be a new gun on the scene, but it handles like a dream and is so satisfying to fire.

13. Haha, I'll have to get back to you on that.

14. Look, things like the relays, the citadel? they are essential to galactic civilization, and we should certainly learn how to rebuild them. The problem is, reaper tech has been used for millennia to control civilization, and keep us within the parameters the reapers designed. I believe we need to move beyond these parameters. Not to mention the threat of indoctrination. I know most scientists have deemed reaper tech deader than dead, but from my experience with reapers, that is not dead enough. But of the time being? I say by all means, study the tech, relay data and advance FTL drives that reaper corpses promise could do wonders in getting our allies back home and returning the galaxy to a state of normalcy. But I implore the galaxy to do so only under the most unceasing oversight and supervision, and to take no chances when it comes to indoctrination.

15. No, at this time I can not confirm the existence of surviving protheans, but I hope to explore the possibility at some point in the future, maybe if there is some sort of travel deal.

16. Well in alliance parlance I'm what is known as an infiltrator, meaning I have extensive training with tactical cloaks, sniper rifles, and infiltration techniques. They have served me well over the years.

17. I think so. As you can see here on earth, we have found ways to accommodate all our new guests while we work together to rebuild the relays. QEC has allowed us to remain in contact with all the home worlds as well, and many of the colonies as well. News seems to be positive. Certainly there are plenty of difficulties, but we just united to face the greatest threat to life itself, and we won. I can't conceive of those bond being broken anytime soon.

18. Well, as I've mentioned, my partner and I have recently started a family together, and I like to think that once I've done all I can helping solidify relations, and her service with the Quarian Fleet has run its course, we could settle down and raise our kids. Of course, there is still the fact that I owe her a house on Rannoch. All the more reason for us to work on getting those relays fixed haha.

19. You are the reason we are here today. In the end, it wasn't some small squad or super weapon that won the war, it was the people from every corner of the galaxy, united together with the singular goal of stopping the worst evil to ever plague life itself. You are all heroes, and the people of this galaxy owe you everything.

20. Thanks for having me.

Background: Earthbound
Millitary History: War Hero
Alignment: Mostly Paragon (with some renegade choices)

Thank you. Ever since I was nursed to full health, I have been determined that I would be walking on my own two feet. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and the immense support I recieved from my friends, family and fans I managed to start walking again.

I've said this many times and I'll say it agian. Huge thanks.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? [Take into account that Shepard has sustained injuries but is still mobile, when answering this question]
Funny you say that. I'm going to apologise  in advance, this is going to be a long winded answer. I never wanted to retire. As soon as I started walking again, I limped my way to Alliance Headquarters asking to return to the Alliance. I was told that I wasn't fit enough to be a soldier. After a month of moping about it, I was fed up of sitting around doing nothing. I signed on to the United Galaxy Project.

Ever since, I've been using my Spectre status to help coordinate the repairing of Mass Relays and rebuilding of entire cities. It's not as exciting as being a soldier, but I do meet lots of facinating people in my new job. It's important work and everyone has been very friendly to one another. Everyone has that zeal to get the job done. More frantic than I initally imagined, because before I signed up, I thought that people would be taking a breather and sitting back. In reality there is that same level of urgency as there was during the Reaper war. It's quite spectacular.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...[*]Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
Well I married Kaidan Alenko so I'm in contact with him all the time. The others, I don't see as often as I like. They're all busy working on various projects.

Personally, I don't consider them to be "former squadmates". I consider them to be family. We stood side by side in some of the most traumatic battles I've ever seen. There is a rapport that we've developed over time. I know it sounds childish, but whenever we meet up, there's lots of drinking, lots of injokes and plenty of bad dancing.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
Very few people have got what it takes to be in the Millitary. You have to be exceptionally fit and exceptionally disiciplined. Your resolve must be incredibly strong. However if you don't have what it takes to be in the Millitary, the Alliance is recuiting people in many other roles.

There is law enforcement, the health service, the fire service, the civil service, scientific research, diplomacy, teaching... that's all I can list off the top of my head. There are so many areas to the Alliance, don't assume (as most people do) that the Alliance only covers Millitary. The Alliance covers every possible aptitude. The Alliance isn't currently looking for Millitary Personel. They are experiencing staff shortages in every other area.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
Well, I'll be making a short speech that Kaidan has kindly written for me. Other than that I'll be celebrating the victory against the Reapers and mourning the dead.

As far as I'm concerned everyone dead or alive played a part in our victory against the Reapers. Soldiers, engineers, doctors, chefs, musicians, teachers etc... People who hated each other put their differences aside to beat the Reapers. Inviduals who had never fired a weapon in their lives, sacrificed themselves for people they didn't even know. I have heard hundreds of heroic stories from people both in active service and regular heroes alike who gave up everything to ensure that we are all here today.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...You had a long history of exploring th egalaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
Well as you said. I have made tough decisions. Many tough decisions. So it is of little surprise that I have regrets. I may not be the most pragmatic person, but I have been in situations that have forced me to make pragmatic choices.

Some of the choices I made cannot be justifed by the "ruthless calculus of survival" argument. They were flat out wrong.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...What made you want to join the Alliance?
Intresting enough, I initially had no desire to join the Alliance.

You know what I said about regrets? During my childhood I was a very hostile person. I killed innocent people and looted their corpses. I needed food badly and I realised that the only way to get by was through violence. I was one of thousands of children who grew up without their parents and were forced into gangs.

After many years of this kind of lifestyle, I didn't want to move on. The gang gave me a sense of belonging and a sense of pride. As long as I did what I was told, I'd be rewarded with food. One day the Alliance Millitary came to arrest us. I managed to injure three Alliance soldiers that day.

Lieutenant Terrance Redgrave saw potential in me and persuaded me to join the Alliance. I guess what made me want to join at the time was the simple choice of rotting in a prison cell or joining what I percieved at the time to be another gang. I guess the Alliance seemed to be the lesser of two evils.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
Interesting question. Intreresting because I am nothing like my youngerself. Well I guess I learnt about survival agaimst the odds, how to fire a gun and working as a team. I breezed through Alliance training simply because on Earth every day had some kind of traumatic life or death situation. I never flinched in combat and I knew how to work with other people. Though the hardest part for me was the disicipline. As amazing as my old gang on Earth were, discipline was something none of us committed to.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
Have you heard of the saying "You scratch my back, I scratch yours?" I did lots of favors, performed a lot of high risk missions and went out of my way to please both sides. These may have been difficult times, but everyone knew what was at stake. If we didn't work together we'd all be dead.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Sorry to the listeners.

Everyone brings up "Star Child". That creepy AI reads my mind, and chooses a spectoral version of some child who died on Earth. I asked the creepy AI how do I destroy the Reapers and pretty much ignored any alternative solutions it offered.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...[*]Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
Hmm. Hammerhead was easier to control, had better manouverability, was faster and repaired itself. In my opinion it was an improvement over the Mako in every way.

So it might surprise you when I say I miss the Mako more. Mako has a great deal of sentimental value to me. Before NASA sent astronauts to Mars, the sent buggies to explore the red planet. The Mako is a nod to the early missions to Mars. Just like the early missions, my squad and I felt like pioneers exploring new worlds and gathering information and resources.

These days you can go to where you need to be via shuttle, and extract resources via probes. So sadly both the Mako and Hammerhead are used for combat and not for exploration.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
If I was capable of biotics, that would be my answer, as I almost always had a biotic in my squad.
So I'd say the omnitool.

Need to restore shields whilst zapping enemies? Energy Drain.
Need to take out armored targets? Incinerate.
Need to sabotage enemy weapons and turn synthetic foes against one another? Sabotage.
Need to sneak around and get a headshot? Tactical Cloak.
Need to take out an enemy that is close to you? Omniblade.
Need to hack, bypass or decrypt consoles or deploy medigel? Omnitool

It's a smart piece of technology that can do pretty much everything. You can be an engineer, a medic, an infiltrator and a wizard. It's fantastic.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer)
Every store is my favorite store on the Citadel. I thought you'd know this by now:P.
Seriously, that was a pretty silly thing to do. Endorcing every store. An abuse of my reputation for sure, hence the lawsuits. I was actually taken to court over this.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?
The Citadel, the mass relays all reaper tech. How I was rebuilt. Reaper tech. EDI? Reaper tech. The Normandy SR 2, had components from fallen Reapers. So I more than support the use of Reaper tech. I am using Reaper tech right now.

There is a huge risk when using Reaper technology that you might become indoctrinated. It is a risk woth taking if you ask me, but precautions must be taken or otherwise you become like the semi-husk Cerberus troopers. It's a real shame what happened to Cerberus. I have always had admiration for both Cerberus and The Alliance, but there came a point when their goals conflicted.

Cerberus were carried away with their research and failed to take the necessary safeguards against indoctrination. In addition their research methods involved torture, slavery and kidnapping. I am all for the use of Reaper tech, but we must be responsible and we must not let science get in the way of ethics.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
He is supposed to be a secret. A secret that joined my squad on numerous missions and even revealed himself on the citadel. He's an interesting fellow. Javik's helped me make some very tough decisions during the Reaper War. Some people think he is this ruthless, renegade killing machine. He is that, but I've also seen him let his hair down... so to speak. He's a pretty funny guy with a great sense of humor.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?
I really wanted to be a sentinel, because I love biotics and I love the omnitool. Sadly I am incapable of using biotics, so I opted for training as an infiltrator. You go through the same basic training as all classes, but you also have to learn how to be stealthy. You learn stealth takedowns, use of the omnitool to hack consoles and use tech powers. You also have to be proficient in the use of an assault rifle.

As training goes, there is a lot of shouting. When you realise that in a combat situation your superiors are going to shout at you so that they can be heard over the noise of bullets and explosions, then you realise that it's part of the training.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
Man it's a shame that no one teaches clairvoyance. I've always been an optimist, so I'd like to think that the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it. However it is quite simply impossible to tell. Things are going quite smothly right now, with the exception of a few bits of infighting here and there.

The fact this community even exists is a huge achievement in and of itself. If we all work together and keep our minds on working towards common goals as opposed to common differences, then this community has a bright future ahead of it.

Who knows...

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
Well Kaidan and I wish to bring a child into this world. Probably settle down and be a parent. However I don't want to flat out retire. If I'm not keeping my mind occupied, then I would be really bored.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
As I've said before. If it weren't for the efforts of our Veterans, none of us would be here today. We morn the dead, celebrate our seemingly impossible victory and celebrate our unity. May we never forget the sacrifices, may we never forget the fallen.

[*]
Abraham_uk wrote...Thank you. It's been a pleasure.:)
Likewise.

It is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh. For those of you who didn't know, I am speaking to the legendary Commander Shepard. First Human Spectre, Savior of the Galaxy and Vanquisher of the Reapers.

Before we start the interview, do you have  a message for the fans?
Well, I guess I'll emphasize that no matter what everyone says, I'm still a person like anyone else.
I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail? [Take into account that Shepard has sustained injuries but is still mobile, when answering this question]
I'm organizing and coordinating ships and supplies and setting up donation programs across the galaxy to help the most hard hit planets.
Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
Of course.  Some are even helping to rebuild.
Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
Well, it's a big commitment.  Just make sure you are ready to do what you are asked to do to defend those who can't defend themselves.
Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
I will be having a celebration with my friends in honor for those who have fallen.  I regret to say that it will be a private celebration.
You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
Yes...  I'd prefer not to speak of them, however.
What made you want to join the Alliance?
I grew up on Mindoir and was saved by an Alliance patrol when slavers hit.  If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be here.
How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
Before the slavers hit Mindoir, I never thought that I would do anything important.  I guess, that when the Alliance patrol saved me, I wanted to help people like the way I was helped.  You could say that the slaver attack had a somewhat positive effect on me.
During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
Well, to get the Turians' support, they needed the Krogan, and before the Krogan would help, they wanted the Genophage cured, so that's what I did.  The Salarians were understandably upset, but I knew I could trust Urdnot Wrex to do the right thing.  The Salarians didn't throw in their support until after I saved Councilor Valern during the Cerberus Coup.  As for the Quarians and Geth, I was able to convince both sides to stand down, though there was some resistance.
Sorry to the listeners.
Honestly, I remember little other than the arrogance in it's voice and it's circlular logic.  I guess I was so badly injured that my memory is a bit blurred.
Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
The Mako hands down.  Had some good times with that thing...
What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
I usually used the M-96 Mattock.  Good accuracy, good clip capacity, great stopping power, and semi-auto.  I still have one though that's for recreational use mostly.
What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer)
Ha!  I guess this goes back to when I was offering my endorsement to get discounts?  Fair enough.  Hmm... I guess I really don't have a preference.
My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech?
As long as everyone is very careful with the technology.
Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
Yes.  He was certainly not what I expected at all.  He was a little cold... though I suppose I shouldn't judge him harshly, considering he's the last Prothean.
Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class?
I'm an engineer.  I had to train to use my omni-tool with speed and precision as well as learn the inner-workings of current and past technology.  I always had a knack for technology so I breezed through the training.
Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
I think so, yes.  I know it may be difficult, but I have faith that everything will turn for the better.
After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
Well... (chuckles) I'm getting married soon, so I'll have to settle down.  Sorry ladies.  No specifics yet, but we'll figure something out.
Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
Unfortunately, nothing comes to mind.
Thank you. It's been a pleasure.:)
Thank you for having me.

*This is a Shepard that picks Green but returns in AI form (long story... but this AI retains Shepard's personality with 97% accuracy, and knows of his past life, though some gaps in memory exist). Against the rules? Pfft.

Thanks for having me. And to the fans: thank you all for your continued love and support!
• I was wondering, since retiring from the Alliance, you've been involved in a rebuilding the Galaxy project. What do your duties entail?
I'm with Alliance R&D now, in fact. With the Council gone, the ban on AI creation is no longer effective, and so the Alliance is integrating AI into the labs. No doubt they also took note of the AI I had on my ship during the past war -- a little known fact. We called her "EDI," and she proved an invaluable part of our crew. Now, the Alliance is seeing what we can do in different roles, and with greater freedoms on our programming.

First, we helped our organic counterparts make sense of their new abilities, in the aftermath of the war. Without getting into the heavy technical stuff, it's basically a nexus between organics and all devices that can receive user input. And no, you do not have to use it, and you do not have to live your life any differently than you previously have.

Next, we have been helping by speeding up the process of work in the labs in just about all facets. They form a "consensus" through me whereby they can brainstorm very efficiently. I connect not only the co-workers in our lab, but also with other Alliance personnel across the galaxy with QEC without the time lag. These sessions are typically over in a matter of seconds. I also analyze the data from their research by running simulations, calculating statistical values, and a number of other specialized duties. It's all touch-and-go. The possibilities are very exciting.
• Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
Oh yes. I have met up with all my former crew after they received word that I had "resurfaced." Given my ability to be in multiple places at once, I am able to spend time with them frequently. Seeing me in this form took some getting used to, but I likened it to my first return from death. Cerberus rebuilt me, but for all they knew, that was just some really convincing actor. In the end, though, if it has my memories and personality, what difference would it really make? I suppose it's not quite so simple. Nonetheless, my former crewmates accept me as... me.

I also live on Earth with my fiance, who served under me in my brief stint with Cerberus.

We plan to move, though, when Grissom Academy reopens.
• Do you have any advice for those who want to join the Alliance Millitary?
If you are thinking about enlisting, that probably means something. If your seek to commit yourself to something greater, even at the expense of the comforts of civilian life, the Alliance may be your calling. It's not an easy life. For the most part, you need to be willing to accept the satisfaction of doing your duty to our cause as reward enough for all the hard work and sacrifice you put into it.
• Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion?
I have prepared a special message that will be sent to all Alliance and allied combatants in our database, commemorating the 1st Veteran's Day since the past war and saluting their service.
• You had a long history of exploring th egalaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets?
Looking back, I regret not being more prepared for the Reapers before they invaded. When I returned from death, I diverted by attention to the Collectors, a Reaper proxy. However, it was really a dead-end. Their base offered some useful resources, but we were still back at square-one on the greater Reaper menace.

We're lucky we found the Crucible when we did. I, however, wish we would have found it sooner, having it installed and ready to go long before the invasion.
• What made you want to join the Alliance?
It was a ticket out of a dead-end future on Earth, doing odd jobs and running with gangs. I felt I was capable of more.

I was also inspired by the stories of human legends in space like Jon Grissom and Lt. David Anderson. I wanted to be like them. I first met Anderson at the medal-ceremony for what I did at Elysium. I was "starstruck" [sic].
• How has your childhood made you the person you are today?
I'm sorry to say that my memories are rather limited on this topic. I only "remember" that which I wrote in a jounral I had been keeping since I was inducted to the Spectres. That journal was used to create me. Its contents, my memories. Its narratative voice, my personality.

I did reflect upon my history a few times, and one thing I did say was that "survival is a skill, and I learned how to survive in difficult circumstances at a very early age" [sic]. That had no doubt served me well when I went marine, given all the life-threatening situations I had put myself in. Beyond that, however, it is difficult to answer more specifically.
• During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support?
The official story about how I recruited the turians to the war effort is all true. They wanted krogan boots on the ground before committing their fleet to Earth, and the krogan understandably wanted a genophage cure before committing to the war efforts. We accomplished this by preparing a cure from a fertile krogan female's tissue and then dispersing it throughout Tuchanka's atmosphere. The turians kept their word, and the krogan also agreed to join us for the final battle on Earth.

Salarian support was withheld until after saving their councilor from an assassination attempt.

(Author's note: this part contains lies of omission) With Rannoch, both parties reached a mutual agreement. The geth were granted an upgrade to make all programs individually sentient. In exchange, the quarians would be welcome to return to their homeworld. In doing so, I was able to acquire both fleets for Earth. I know people had a lot of reservations about recruiting the geth to this cause, but we needed every damn resources we could get, and they stepped up admirably to the call when we took the fight to Earth. We owe them a great deal.
However there is one thing on this list of suggested questions I can ask. What was it like meeting the Catalyst (or Star Child)?
I wish I knew. Sadly, I have no memory of that event. Again, my memories derive primarily from the journal I had kept, and my last entry came on the eve of the final battle. Some of my squadmates have helped fill the gaps in my memory by imbuing me with their own memories of me, and so I do have some recollection of what I did that day, but none of them were with my when I encountered this so-called Catalyst. It's as much a mystery to me as anyone else.
• Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead?
Though I am told it lacked greatly in durability, I do remember having a preference for the Hammerhead's superior speed and agility -- my exact words to describe the Mako were "slow as molasses" [sic].
• What was your weapon/s of choice during missions?
As a Spectre, I was an infiltrator-class soldier. I went into battle with an omnitool capable of various tech-attacks, a sniper-rifle, and pistol -- all from the Spectres' armory, the very best equipment.

My return from death, however, changed things. Cerberus claimed that I had biotic power that was never realized and implanted me with biotic amps to make use of it. In truth, to this day I'm not sure I believe them. It's entirely possible they pumped me up with eezo just to give me another weapon. But it is true, I was a biotic in my "second life." So I changed my style entirely. I started carrying pistols and SMGs, and later, shotguns, while utilizing my tech and biotic skills to build myself into an indomitable CQC combatant.

I'm still theoretically capable of combat as an AI, I would just need to inhabit a more suitable body than my current hologram form. However, my talents are best served working in a lab, and there's a greater need for what I'm doing now than anything combat-related.
• What is your favorite store on the Citadel?:P (Does not require a serious answer)
I have no clue why this extranet meme is so prolific. That endorsement is reserved for one vendor only: Saronis Applications.
• Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
Javik was an elite combatant from the Prothean empire. He was tasked with going underground with a large force of fellow Prothean soldiers, but his cell was sabotaged from the inside.

It was enlightening to learn a bit about what his people were like. However, Javik was more focused on finishing the job the Protheans had left undone, typically unwilling to engage in much small talk with the crew or making friends. He was willing to confide a bit with me, though. As soldiers, we kind of shared a common bond, and he had respect for me as his commander.

I think the most noteworthy moment with him was when he stepped onto the Citadel for the first time. It was the heart of his people's civilization, as it was for all cylces, but he had never been there (bear in mind, the Reapers conquer the Citadel in a normal cycle). A small victory.

Adjusting to our cycle took some getting used to, and for him, the biggest difference was our relations with synthetic life. The Protheans were already at war with hostile synthetics before the Reapers showed up. He took issue with the AI aboard my ship, but acquiesed to my wishes. He, like many others, wanted no part of the geth in this war, either. His history with the Reapers goes without saying. And now, there's me, an AI "ressurection" of an old friend. It has been difficult to put his differences aside, but Javik has long since accepted that this is no longer his cycle.
• Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
I am very optimistic. We have opened avenues of innovation and unlocked stores of knowledge we never imagined would ever be available to us. Our productivity in the labs are off-the-charts. The prospects for the future are very exciting to think about. We've already seen breakthroughs in communication abilities, and expect many more discoveries along the way.
• After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
The Alliance has its sights set well beyond rebuilding and recovery. As a galaxy, we are currently looking at ways to improve our standard of living in all facets, and the Alliance hopes humanity will lead the charge. In truth, though, I think every species will have an important role to play in it -- no one more than any others.
• Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans?
I'd like to thank them, as well as everyone who played a part in assisting our allies in this past war. You should all be proud, for you helped us accomplish something that no civilization before us has ever done. To those who lost friends or loved ones, remember that they fought for you to see this new day. Do not waste it. It's time to move forward.

  • Thank You, its great being here. Thank you for having me and i would just like to say thank you to the fans for being there and most importantly being strong when the going got tough.
  • Well, I haven't really retired per say. i still work for them but I've been overseeing some colony restoration on the side as well as I have been overseeing the rebuilding of the Alliance parliament. Its alot of work but I've also really trying to make up lost time with family.
  • Do you keep in touch with your former squadmates?
Absolutely! I have been been with my former squadmate, Ashley for about 3 years now. We met on board my first Normandy in 2183 and We're actually expecting a baby soon and moving into our first house together. Garrus and Tali are like brother and sister to me, I chat with Liara from time-to-time. Trust me, we all still keep in touch from time-to-time.
  • Next week is Galaxy Veteran's Day (as you know). What will you be doing for this special occasion? Well, Ash and I were planning on getting together with some of the old crew and honoring the lost as well as hopefully start a fundraiser to help the still- wounded
  • You had a long history of exploring the galaxy, engaging in plenty of battles and making tough decisions. Do you have any regrets? Honestly? Theres alot of stuff I've done that I'm not really particularly proud of. I still wish i could have saved my friend Kaidan on Virmire, I still wish I could have saved those colonists. In hindsight, theres alot i wish i could take back

  • What made you want to join the Alliance? My parents mostly, my dad died during Shanxi so i was raised mostly by my mom, whose Alliance. Growing up, i never thought any of this would really happen to me. I just wanted to be somebody, explore the galaxy and make a difference while doing it.
  • How has your childhood made you the person you are today? Well, growing up on spaceships made me value staying in one place and its certainly made me think of the kind of future i want for my child. Honestly, I'm hoping college is the preferred choice. Growing up, I was always moving. Never really stayed in one place so I didn't always have the luxury of friends. I think that has made me a stronger person, now that I think about it.
  • During the Reaper War, you were engaged in negotiations with the Turians, Krogan, Salarians, Geth and Quarians. How did you manage to obtain their support? Well the stories are all true. The turians were getting the fight kicked out of them and wanted Krogan support. The Krogan wanted the genophage cured so thats what we did and there was obviously some Salarian resistance but they eventually came around. The Geth and the Quarians made a mutual agreement and made a compromise

I wish i knew honestly, we're still trying to etch out exactly what happened up there. I know that it was difficult and its still difficult to think about.
  • Which do you miss more? Mako or Hammerhead? Oh the Mako. More than ever
  • What was your weapon/s of choice during missions? Probably my trusty old Lancer or my Valkyrie. If all else fails theres always a shotgun
  • What is your favorite store on the Citadel? :P (Does not require a serious answer) Honestly, I really enjoyed Armax Arsenal and the fish store
  • My listeners would like to know, now that the Reaper invasion is over, do you support the use of Reaper tech? No, anything involving Reapers is nothing but trouble and should be avoided.
  • Is it true that you met the last living Prothean? [If yes, what was he like]?
Javik, hes a good guy. Helluva fighter
  • Which of the 6 combat classes were you, and what kind of training did you undergo to become that class? i was a Vanguard, I mostly tried honing my skills as a biotic as well as keeping them balanced with my weapons.

  • Do you think the United Galactic Community has a bright future ahead of it?
Absolutely, I couldn't be happier with all the news I'm hearing.
  • After the Rebuild The Galaxy project is over, do you have any future plans?
Well honestly, I really am looking forward to spending time with Ash and meeting our baby here in a few months.
  • Before we conclude, do you have any messages for the Galaxy Veterans? I'm proud of all of you. Without you, we wouldn't of been given this opportunity for a second chance. We will honor those lost and not forget what you guys have done for us

  • The pleasure is mine.
