This one took a few tries. For us, the Warlord dominated the early waves, then got relegated to decoy/meatshield/(synced)spectator while the Paladin cleaned up. Gained a newfound appreciation for just how powerful the shotgun omni-blade is

We did this on our first try, then we decided to improve our time, but we had devices on wave 10 and ended up being 1 sec faster. It's something. Then we both agreed that 2 games of London Geth (and 3 center hacks) are enough for a day.

Congrats to Juh0M and XAN_95. You guys are officially the new record holders for total time taken to complete series 1 on Hardcore individually and as a duo team (6:31:57)! Almost 40 mins quicker than the second place team. You guys have set the new hardcore duo standard for that series and have proven that you were up for the challenge! I applaud you guys! Let's see you take that intensity to series 2!! PS love the trolling and I thought AW_FC wrote hate trolling, which he didn't, but which is a great term.

 

 

As a side note, I noticed two things while updating:

 

A- set 9 is totally a troll set, and I apologize

B- The times set on GI Armature are surreal. The competition for that one brought them ridiculously low. I challenge the duo-ers of today.. Can you beat the record set and still holding by Hendrix and Alquinn??

No medigel with this setup really punishes mistakes (since you also cannot use a missile to clear the revive area), but it makes for quite an experience! Frantic, but fun, and highly recommended. Though not blowing up your teammate with abominations is hard...

Non-stop hectic fun from beginning to the end in this one, a worthy finale! Got targets on wave 3, but then the game relented and gave us pizza and hack (brute forced with extreme prejudice).

The only way to make this one better would be to allow for friendly-fire abominations accidents not to count against the 10WS requirement oh well, we can always do that in pugs I guess.

 

You all seem to really like Kishock Vorcha Engineer against collectors, three different challenges overall

Mission 2 - Spectre Origins

This one was tough. There is enough lag in our matches to make off-host projectile weapons difficult to handle, and 5WS vs cerberus is no laughing matter. Not the fastest time, but I think we are pretty proud of how well we played this one. The game gave us an assist on wave 6, two of the shortest pizzas possible.

Our Quarians' disdain for the geth was such, that we refused to get the 3WS medal until wave 8 that's my version at least, and I intend to stick to it. It was fitting the spirit of the challenge that our 50 assists medals dropped on consecutive enemies the Reegar was basically dead weight here, but that scimitar sure came in real handy!

This one feels special, because it's one of the first challenges we tried many moons ago, thinking we'd have a chance we came back to it, and completed it in one try - how far have we come fun, but the requirements are quite tricky, especially the 20-headshots medal: it forces a more careful approach, while we both like to wade in close and personal with these kits. Devices on wave 6 and 10 too!

II. Still, We Hold the Line

We fell into our usual pattern of holding the control room by patrolling the two entries to it, then we realized we weren't getting assists like that Emexxia spent the last two waves letting me finishing toasters, because we didn't spot the assist medal drop as fun as hydra/geth can get, and the decoy is really powerful here!

A really fun, well thought, lore-friendly challenge  Of course, the one objective wave where we have to use the predator, and we get targets and even brutes take forever to fall to pea shooters. Emexxia went for AP ammo and straight-up weapon damage; I tried a fancy inc ammo conc-shot build, and it nearly cost us the try for lack of medals. Had to farm fire explosions off marauders on waves 7 and 8.

Our tradition of getting WS requirements done in the late waves vs geths continues this time, we waited until wave 9. Decided to be hip and put the Saber on the HEng, it's fun but the TSent is a better fit IMO. The drone is seriously OP

This one took a few tries. Bad luck with objectives coupled with off-host kishock issues  cost us many tries. Got really lucky on wave 10, hack next to the LZ, not in the bunker, and most units got stuck behind double pretorians on the LZ. Eerily scary, sitting in cover watching all that firepower so close by

I got thinking, perhaps instead of the QFE, it should have been the Asari inflitrator in this match? A hunter, a huntress

the first time we tried this, I got synced thrice by banshees and while Emexxia did carry us through, I couldn't get my shotgun kills. This time it went much better Condor is meh, but Claymore, Wraith, krogan and batarian make everything better  Nice shot! Stop struggling! They are DEAD!

But but...

The patterns are there, buried in the data

Actually, our selection criterias are very simple: no cerBeruS, no WS requirements, no double projectile weapons tend to go first. We don't stick to one challenge if we fail, we tend to move on, in order to prevent too much frustration; that's where the shotgun spread comes from, mostly. Overall, I'd say that we have played together enough to know which challenges we are most likely to enjoy/succeed at, and tend to pick those ... though we do intend to complete both series eventually!
