Mildly surprised we got it on our first try. Getting the required medals was tricky, but really fun! Paladin and Slayer do have great synergy, it's so rewarding to play them together!

Also, the game took the challenge's name seriously, and gave us twice devices, plus targets on wave 10

"We are Garrus and Thane, and this is now our favourite spot on Earth!" Another really fun match: Vancouver in general is a great map for challenges IMO, and snipers go really well here.

II. Illusive Defeat

Took the "minimal use" of the hornet to mean no weapon medals of any kind for the Slayer, which meant a whole lot of charging mooks to ensure 50 biotic kills. We went a bit overboard with it I think, because it would have been much better to keep detonating biotic explosions off Emexxia's priming

This took a few tries, but it's a very fun challenge, so we didn't mind (much ). It's very easy to get cornered on Goddess, so we didn't play the primer/detonator game as much as we'd have wanted, opting instead for watching each other's back, and firing disciple shots into everything to help in racking up assists.

"Assault Trooper reporting: infiltration successful, the Archives are under our control. Resistance has been eliminated. Awaiting further orders." Shuriken is OP, bioware nerf please Dr. Coré met an unfortunate accident on wave 9, leaving the trooper to fend off atlases and on-host phantoms armed only with a hornet... without the use of missiles that explains the loooooooong completion time, but I doubt we will ever go back to redo this one

I. Meandering of Mordus, Part 1 - Lystheni

3 gold medals were not trivial to collect actually. We opted for grabs, and a good thing too! The assist medal dropped on extraction. Mordus did also heavy melee a couple of Nemeses just in case the grabs where not melee-ish enough Pretty straightforward otherwise, the BatSol is a monster, and Mordus has little problem even on-host against Cerberus.

London/Geth is pretty tough for glass cannons, Primes in particular get really annoying really fast... nothing a good application of singularity and cluster grenades cannot cure though . Once the headshot requirement was out of the way, we spammed our powers, and reveled in the glory of non-stop biotic booms.

"You did good son. You did good." Had to go to wave 7 to get the 5WS medal. Abominations are really tricky to handle, though the upside is that nothing stands up very long to this kind of firepower. The recon mine's slowing debuff came in really handy on wave 6's pizza delivery, effectively freezing most collectors while we waltzed around the map.

The first try, we died once on wave 5, and once on wave 10 during cleanup the second time, I forgot we needed 50 weapon kills and missed that medal Third time is the charm we never forgot to perform headbutts  at least, though not meleeing toasters feels... strange otherwise, this is a fun rumble.

Cerberus Jade the game was kind enough to hand us easy objectives; good thing too, since we died every wave until wave 6 we mostly camped the upper area, and once we settled down and actually started landing venom shots, the match turned out a bit easier than we expected. A pretty strong comination.

This one took a few, rage-inducing tries. Finishing it is not very difficult, but getting 5WS while dragoon-rushed can get really annoying. One shotting bubbled phantoms and turning atlases into scrap metal kind of makes up for it though

III. Bonus Challenge: Last Enemies Standing

Worthy of the bonus challenge moniker! We had to finish a couple of waves with one nemesis down, which increased the time considerably. Duration cloak for tactical redeployment, and the ability to one-shot decapitate abominations once the fitness rank 5 boost kicked in were invaluable.

We had a quicker, epic previous run, where we got 5WS on waves 6-10, voided by me using a missile on extraction this one was slower, but equally epic: we got the third killstreak on wave 2 (!), had to scrounge past devices on waves 3 and 6, and almost wiped on the wave 10 hack, trying to conserve our remaining missiles. A really fun challenge, though the 5WS requirements makes even the slightest mistake very dangerous... and ravagers a real threat!

 

 

Set 4

II. The Nightmare Becomes Reality

This one is utter evil. Difficult map and so many priorities: getting the melee kills out of the way, farming biotic kills, while getting the 3WS requirement fulfilled... and when we finally got 3WS, the game gave us devices on wave 6 the 50 biotic kills requirement really puts the shackles on the PPR wielding collector, who has to rely on DoT and feather the gun; 120 non-weapon kills against collectors really doesn't leave much margin for error!

 

 

And with these two, we have completed all the official challenges from series 1 as a team! (two bonus challenges still remain, for now...)

It's been quite the road! Thank you Pres for coming up with the challenges, and for keeping the thread alive and the HoF updated! Thank you to everyone who has completed the challenges before us, letting us know that it is possible to finish them (and the videos to give us some hints as how to solve some of the most difficult ones)!

We didn't forget how to hold a gun turned out to be the toughest challenge from the final set, Condor is no easy map for 10WS ( ). We were extra extra careful about clearing the blast area before taking out the last possessed abomination on wave 10: pretorians? nuke! scions? nuke! Burning man trying to approach you? Run away! 

 

 

Set 8

Mission 2 - Hackett Out

"a little" stormy? Hackett, that was the understatement of the Reaper War! Insanely difficult challenge. We tried to get the biotic kills out of the way by wave 7 - which requires some careful play. We found stopping banshees was not enough: we also had to learn to re-prioritize targets, or we'd get overrun. Seeker swarms as detonators had to be used carefully: you can't really survive the long cooldown in the later waves... And once we got out of wave 9, the game threw us one last screwball in the form of wave 10 devices, 3 out in the open by the EZ! No way we were going to be denied though

 

 

With these two, we have finally completed series 2.0! Bosh'tet was the very first challenge we completed, so it was fitting we'd end with the other one from the set (not that we planned it that way). A well designed series, with a nice overall narrative, and a good range of challenges; again, thank you Prestacious for your hard work, which is much appreciated! Your duo challenges provided some of the most fun we have ever had with this game, and considering the insane amount of hours we both have amassed, I hope it sounds as the high praise I mean it to be and again, a big thank you to those who paved the way with previous runs, showing us how it can be done and keeping interest alive!

III. Armiger Legion

Pictured: your typical cerBeruS extraction I will never look down on Havoc Strike again: it did prevent an already-initiated phantom sync-kill by staggering her Slam dunks look impressive, but without proper gear, they are mostly for show solid kits, but not much synergy between them.

Because there isn't enough Bjorn in our lives at the moment mildly surprised that we got it on our first try, and that it didn't take longer. Stasis and the drone were the real protagonists here. Wave 8 was a spirit-crushing slog through tons of armour.

 

We have finished every hardcore challenge available, so no more spamming this thread for now

I have also added a link to a video of our "Hackett Out" challenge in the post above; since there is only one video available for this challenge on hardcore, we thought it might be worthwile to add our run (minus a couple of censored, un-Hamletic-like Origin messages by a certain slow reptile )

First themed challenge ! After two warmup matches, we failed our first attempt on wave 5. I think I died and Toast got killed  trying to revive me in a very heroic fashion. Couldn't give up that easily and we made it without too much difficulties on the second game. Though I have to say it was more difficult than I anticipated, I guess I dindn't take the map and faction into consideration until we actually started. Also, I don't know if people have strategies or patterns for duos but this one was totally care free and spontaneous.

 

Having fun was the main reason that motivated me to join the fray, a nice change from the regular frustration and suffering I usually get when trying to do platinum solos or speedruns. Really had a great time during this match, and I was barely annoyed by the Ood this time (The Orb of Despair is the new official name for the electric bee swarm). Better watch out Reapers, we're coming for you !!

We also tryed Surviving Haestrom but i had too many problems like THIS ( i am good and alive and in the next moment everythin freeze) and THIS was the logical sequel( i am finished and stayed around clusum like statue and he had to solo).It was impossible for me to play.
