Do you think Cerberus sold some humans to the collectors to gain some tech to build the new Normandy? Like the drive core which is definately alien in technology.
if not what do you think is it's origin?

Yeah maybe but where did they get it? Well maybe they reverse engineered it from Sovereign's remains.

I don't recall them saying the drive core was reaper tech. It's weird and unique, but that doesn't mean it's alien in origin.
But no, I don't think Cerberus sold humans to the Collectors. Kind of goes against their entire creed.

Ya, I've seen some stuff that indicates that the base of operations were TIM is at for at least part of the game is based in a broken down reaper. I would assume it's most likely the remains of Sovereign.

Maybe I just assumed it was reaper tech, we do know that Cerberus is experimenting with Reaper tech based on the synopsis of the next novel coming out, so it wouldn't be a crazy idea to think that's where they got it.
** Slight Spoiler **
... you may have read like a lot of us that Cerberus basically rebuilds Shep after the initial attack from the Collectors in ME2. Me theory is that they rebuild him with Reaper tech.

In case you haven't noticed, the Collectors aren't quite the "negotiating" type. If it's based on Collector tech, they likely managed to salvage/capture a smaller ship and reverse engineer it.

"One man is bent on discovering the Reapers' secrets, the mysterious Illusive Man, the leader of a pro-human, black ops group, Cerberus. And he's devised the perfect plan: implant a human subject with Reaper technology in order to study the enemy."
Quote is taken from the description of the upcoming Mass Effect:Retribution novel. TIM is obviously interested in the Reapers.

I still don't know how the Collectors knew where the Normandy was....
Shepard wasn't crossing into their territory.... right? Just looking for geth?
