~IX: Eyes On The Prize~ My favorite part!

Mine too :P I got really lucky it fit so well. Quelaag, report to the bonfire. We'll kindle, OK?

On a topic similar to what RainyDayLover mentioned, there's an entire series that works well as something to listen to while surfing the web, EpicNameBro's Dark Souls Lore videos. It's, well, a lot more in-depth than I was expecting XD (Obvious Spoilers are obvious.)

I'll have more videos up tomorrow, the place I'm at now is pretty nito.

Now, just to be clear, was the above meant to be a reference to Nito, First of the Dead? Image IPB

Haven't the slightest idea what you mean.

I actually haven't seen everything in Dark Souls, so there's a bit of inccentive to trying the game again - The Artorias DLC was something I never got to try out before, and artorias looks like a real badass to battle against.

Ah, get ready for a real fun time! Interesting lore, more of the creepy/brilliantly written npcs Dark Souls is known for, epic boss fights, and one of the few viable dual wielding combos in the game!

I absolutely loved the Artorias dlc and was really sad to find out that we wouldn't be getting more content.

The great thing about the Artorias dlc, even more than base Dark Souls, is that it really feels like a case of stepping into Alice in Wonderland.

Edit: Also, love the Nito picture.

Parts 23-34 are officially up and running. Managed to beat Ornstein and Smough much earlier than I'd expected - must've taken at least 30-35 runs before I finally got them my first time. New Game+ is a bit rough with them, their health is significantly higher. As a weird tidbit, that battle always reminded me of Devil May Cry 3's Agni/Rudra Fight.

Even though it's getting relatively close near the end, there's a lot of optional bits I may try out.

Alright, uploaded parts 35-43. Going to be doing the Artorias DLC soon, which will likely involve plenty of painful deaths since I haven't been there yet. XD After the DLC, I'll probably finish the final boss and wrap things up. Thanks to those still watching.

How come when I did a DA:I vs Dark Souls 2 poll like five months ago, nobody knew what Dark Souls was?

The polling audience and those visiting the main forums may differ in gaming tastes, but that's just speculation. Not a clue. ¯\\(°_o)/¯

I've beaten artorias, and what a fight that was. I'll have the videos uploaded later on. He has a very strange battle style, almost like a drunken master. Definitely one of my favorite fights. The last boss in the DLC, manus, is a bit of a pain. I love the look, but he acts more like the incredible hulk. I may just pass the fight if it gets too boring, and head straight to the end of game section.

Not everyone park(ed) their butts in the polls section. Image IPB

I've known what Dark Souls is since it was first announced, as I played Demon's Souls before it.

And bravo, Dom, for taking DS on. To be honest, I was ok with the difficulty in Demon's Souls, but I only lasted about 20 minutes in Dark Souls.

The later ones are a lot better. I was a bit too quiet/boring during the first 5 or so. As it was my first LP, I wasn't used to talking to an imaginary audience in a lone room XD At the very least, see the first minute of "Eyes on the Prize", it's probably the funniest part of the playthrough. :P

I started throwing in better editing and fitting musical tracks for the boss fights, so it definitely gets better as it goes on.

Just be careful of your choice of music.

Some might be rigidly copyrighted.

Whatever system YouTube is using seems to scan for certain songs and I've acknowledged them, haven't had an issue with that yet. A lot of mine are also Video Game Remixes(or otherwise obscure), so it's unlikely to have a problem from copyright issues. Thanks for the tip though :)

Alright folks, all the videos are up, and I mean all of em. I'm particularly proud of how Artorias B.I.G. turned out, it really is an epic battle(which may involve 70's disco music).

Heavy risk Dom... but the priiiiiiiiize. I'm surprised you didn't summon Maneater Mildred, ha.

She was chasing me into Quelaag's Domain, walked back, and got taken out by someone. Whoops. >.>

On a related note, one of my favorite Guitar Cover Guys(FamilyJules7x) made a Dark Souls Medley, seems like a good way to send things off. :)

I noticed the Slam Jam video...Where has this been all my life!?

I found that once, and it changed my life entirely. The legend of Dunkstein and Slamough has even been confirmed* by renowned director Hidetaka Miyazaki. It's also free for download in the YouTube video's description. I knew on at least one of the runs, I had to use it. It was destiny.

*Not Actually Confirmed

Hmm, not as grand in scale as Attack on Barkley.

Due to some Youtube error I'm seeing more often.

Odd, might be a regional issue - I tried it myself and it worked. Worst case scenario, try looking up "nito boss battle" on YouTube, and that'll have to suffice I think.

Yeah, well pretty much decided to skip part 27.

Also, I have 2-3 questions.

Are you playing it on PC or XBOX 360? If on PC, controller or keyboard+mouse?

And what happen when you let yourself get killed in part 29 but that revival ring teleport you elsewhere? Was that a game exploit or required to do?

I'm using the PC version with a PS3 controller. Originally I used a keyboard with the numpad as my actions(Attack/Block/etc). Trying to use Mouse & Keyboard for that game was a bit too odd.

Excellent question. The first encounter with Seath is insta-death, there's no way to beat him besides within the crystal cave, and you get imprisoned in the library/cthublu area right after. I used a ring called "The Rare Ring of Sacrifice" which lets you keep all the souls and humanity you'd earned from that point in case you die. Very handy, picked that up from a walkthrough, I'll admit.

Yeah, you die automatically there, so it's advised to have the Ring of Sacrifice - unless you don't care about souls. Dom, what is your favourite section? Mine has to be Anor Londo, it's just a beauty to look at and the giant blacksmith was hilarious the first time I seen him.

It's hard to beat Anor Londo in terms of atmosphere/eye candy, it's like combining Stormwind and Dalaran, which is downright gorgeous...assuming you don't shoot the princess in the bosom like I did XD Duke's Archive is close, I like the whole mysterious library thing going on there. Oolacile was also nice - if you mixed the art design of Shadow of the Colossus with the crazed headcrab people of Ravenholm, that would sum up Oolacile in a nutshell. The Colosseum Artorias was in is quite smashing.
