If the notion is that popularity among the fans was the only reason the ME team chose to do those things, it's a little insulting. No amount of popularity (or unpopularity) among the fans--and, let's be clear, we're talking solely among those fans who happen to come to these forums and not "all" fans--would persuade me to do something I didn't also think was a good idea.

Perhaps mentioning to those fans that their advocacy helped boost those characters to the forefront didn't help, but seeing as us not calling out specific instances of fans being taken into account results in cries of "you're not listening to us!" we end up in a bit of a catch-22 (and the fans self-immolate regardless).

To be perfectly frank, people will do what they're gonna and it seems that a certain amount of immaturity should simply be a given no matter which forum it's shuffled of into.
