Your ignoring my point. Character discussion threads can be interesting, and should be. But they cannot be interesting when they are all weird hugboxes that outright discourage any character analyzation in favor of gushing about them. Which was a major issue in the section.

Not to mention having threads that run for hundreds of pages get weird and cliquey, even when they aren't about characters.

If you want to discuss a character, make a thread in this section.

I'm not ignoring your point, you mentioned it hundred times in different threads. The main problem was Bioware moderators not doing their job, you know, moderating. Bans and deleting bad posts amazingly help to clear atmosphere.

And your claim that "romance forums are main source of toxic atmosphere" is laughable. Bioware making games worse than before like DA2 & ME3 is the reason of toxicity. There was vibrant, positive, optimistic atmosphere on BSN after DA:O and ME2, when Bioware had high standards. Oh, and actually moderated romance and character forums.

I wrote "moderated" in case you didn't notice. I never wrote "good" or bad, it was all your fantasies.Even you write about "few mods that did their job". You even contradict yourself.

The amount of quibbling and fighting in this one thread should hint that a sub forum of this nature will lead to endless conflict.

i liked the character threads, a lot of people put in a ton of effort to maintain them, too.

idk why but the groups dont seem to be as lively either

I can't personally wait for the obsessed fans of one character to invade the threads of another until it devolves into constant attacks on the characters, sarcastically insulting the opposing posters but not enough to get a warning for it, and then directly attacking them.

Quite frankly, I think people are exaggerating the issue.  The Tali thread was quite peaceful.

The Tali thread was pretty bad but the Miranda thread(s) are what set the Character forums aflame.

the biggest problem was that people started attack the other characters in there respective topics.

And honestly it shouldn't have gone that far. Its people proposfully starting a conflict. 1 person does it and 10 people respond to get "revenge" so it turned into a visious circle

Who knows maybe if people followed the ToS it would have been better.

Honestly what Mods needed to do was do a 3 day ban, and if they came back, 2 week ban to "cool down" Then after that, they clearly are just a troll and are only there to cause trouble and need to be gotten rid of.

The entire sub-forum had gone to hell, there was infighting in character threads and "raids" on other threads organized. Closing the sub-forum and leaving it to groups was the wisest course of action, let them quibble amongst themselves and let them deal with it.
