No, it's not enough. If your poll proves anything at all, it's that. If people aren't provided with a plausible reason to revise their opinion, they generally will not revise their opinion. You haven't provided them with anything other than an absence of information. So they fill in the blanks themselves - with what they already know or believe - which isat least one reason for the <15% drift shown in your results. It's as simple as that.

It's fine the way it is.

Getting rid of the Catalyst (and replacing it with a neutral entity) gets rid of:

-- Any doubt that the info he's giving you is valid.
-- Any suspicion he's hiding more info from you.
-- Any reason to believe that you're being lead on (into a trap).

It's basically asking people to re-play the scenario in their head, but with no reason to believe anything down the lines of "deception"-nonsense theories, to see if that paranoia is truly a significant, driving factor for the decision they make. It isn't.

*edit* .... more to the point, it proves that the player's decision is motivated by something other than leaning on Glowboy -- most likely, it's pre-existing feelings towards the Reapers -and/or- the new information the player receives. Now if that info can be verified, then it doesn't matter where or when they receive it, as it is alone either enough reason for them to choose something other than Destroy, or it isn't reason enough (in which case, I suspect pre-existing feelings is the motive).

Also, if trust/distrust of the 'kid is not a significant factor to players, then it's entirely possible that Controllers and Sync'ers do in fact account for the possibility that they're being played -- but just don't give a damn. If none of the info can be verified, than any decision made in the chamber is a leap-of-faith. What if shooting the tube actually triggers the green ending??

If I provided no reason to revise their opinion, why is anyone changing their vote??

And no, there are no strawmen here...

That's a strawman right there. You're misrepresenting my position.
Look it up.

Keyword there is "Unless."

Don't pout HYR 2.0. It's unbecoming of you.

Sorry, but I am not "pouting," and imagining that I am just so you can feel a false sense of victory (hmm... now what does that remind me of??) will not make it so. I have nothing to pout over, anyway. Right now, this convo is about the best I can expect to get out of this place. So, here I am.
