The Drell (pointless).
Other minor Council species like the Hanar and Elcor.

Quarians/Geth (bargain basement BSG knockoff, humans in suits, nonsensical writing, their issues have been dealt with, etc.)

I'd say there's a little more to the Geth than just being BSG knockoffs (although I'm not even sure the whole idea of the Geth revolting was even lifted directly from BSG; the whole "created rebelling against their creators" has been a scifi trope at least as far back as Shelley's Frankenstein, and ME1 is, as much as anything, a homage to all the old scifi and space opera tropes). The Cylons didn't have anything like the Consensus going on, and at least the Geth (other than the Heretics) didn't feel the need to spout weird religious mystobabble every three seconds. As far as the Quarians go, I'll leave that alone, for fear of this turning into one of Those Threads.
I'd probably drop the Drell, the Vorcha (a race consisting entirely of mooks), and the Reapers, obviously.

The Batarians too, if there aren't any plans to take any of them above terrorist status.

Id rather have no asari squaddie at all, but some npc on the ship like Kelly or Samantha.

Drell are kinda boring. Wouldn't miss that much.

Instead of cutting out any of the species introduced so far, I would simply and firmly suggest that BioWare fleshes every race out in ME4 and gives each of them their "5 minutes" instead of mentioning about a particular race only in 1 codex entry or by putting in-game just 1 NPC of that race for the entire game...

I will never understand the asari hate around here.
It very clearly shows the difference between 'BSN' and 'everyone else'. Most of the vocal voices in BSN seem to at least have a distaste for Liara. Most of the gamers I know more IRL seem to at least have a taste for Liara. Friggin opposite land here.

I'd rather not see any races get removed to make way for new ones. Seems like a dick move to me. I'd much rather see another Krogan rebellion than some new race trying to push in and causing conflict. Or watch the Geth try to find a place amongst cautious organics following the Reaper war.
I dunno, maybe its just me. I'd just hate to have to lose any pre-existing species, even the boring ones. (I'm looking at you Drell)

They're either very popular or so unimportant that they don't even make it on a cross-off list.
- drell and hanar

Funny how nobody said salarian yet.

After Mordin, it's hard not to love the Salarians! They are a personal favourite of mine along with Elcor, Krogan and Turians.
I like all the races in the universe and would love to meet some more races, not less! But if I must pick:
the Protheans (makes sense really; unless it's Javik, as I love that guy), and the Yahg (too many sort of make the Krogan less intimidating, I like to view the Krogan as the intimidating, strong race)
I'd like to keep Batarians as I've always found their fight with humanity fascinating, I would love to visit a Batarian world and see the average citizens and not need to kill everyone in sight. I'd like to hear their view on the actions of the Alliance, hearing the Alliance being called terrorists and such would be amusing.
I'm interested in seeing how the Geth and Quarians are doing, aswell and the Krogan; a rebuilt Krogan world not in ruin but actually being prosperous would be a beautiful sight to see.

F Volus and Elcor. Well, the latter I don't mind since they're so unique, but in the grand scheme, they're irrelevant.

As long as we are not talking about multiplayer, Volus add more to the setting than Drell imo. They are comic relief but also a powerful and different influence on the galaxy. A lot of interesting stories can be told involving the stereotypical Volus. Not so much Drell who have a much lesser impact on galactic events.OniTYME wrote...
How the frak are people saying Drell over Volus?

Hanar and Elcor are also comic relief. Volus are constantly being told to us that they're important yet don't do anything aside from stand by or behind stores. Drell have only 3 characters, one of which had detailed exposition. They were introduced in ME2, so there's still lots of potential. Volus are only good filling the roles of merchants and joke characters. It gets tiring.Malanek999 wrote...

But, this IS an opinion thread, so I'll cut the complaining.
