Being the most widespread races in the galaxy, it's safe to assume that turians (unless they make a game set during the Rachni Wars, I guess), krogan, asari and salarians will all return in the next Mass Effect game. They're way too iconic for ME to just not have them in the next game...or it would be like Star Trek without klingons and romulans

I don't really want them to remove anything, though I guess I could live without the Geth in the next game, as they're getting a little old now. I know I could live without the Vorcha, I'd say Volus but they're fun to laugh at, and I suppose I could live without the Drell, since there is such a minority I guess there would be little difference.

To go to the higher lengths, maybe even Humans, but that is a risky and probably stupid decision to make on my part seeing as I just played three games which starred the player as a Human, so of course I got familiar with them.

don't think I could stand having a race removed from the MEU. though, if two had to go for whatever reason... Elcor & hanar, or maybe volus.

it's a hard choice. every race is unique, and each single point of uniqueness adds depth and character to this universe. cutting out such points would make the MEU a little less interesting. cut out the wrong points and it gets bland.

But if that bird race(not Turians) isn't a option then I guess... Hanar? Or maybe Drell.. 

Also the people saying Asari are delusional. Asari, and Turians MAKE Mass Effect. Getting rid of one of them would be like cutting off your dominant hand.

One of the reasons why I've heard someone dislike them is cus they're sexy or have sex appeal. I'm like "lol wut"?

For the next game, I'd most like to see what the galaxy was like before super special humanity turned up. So...humans, I guess.

Out of the alien species, I'd say hanar and drell. You can neatly remove one and remove the other too, and they seem to have little enough impact on the galaxy as a whole. Elcor too, I guess, but they're just so darned cute!

Back when the character subforum was open Liara's thread was one of the most active character threads, so I'm not sure the BSN is that different. There were a lot of people on the BSN who liked the character as well, they just tended to be a lot less vocal on the general forums than the ones hated the character.

But that's usually how it goes. People tend to be more vocal about things they dislike than the things they like. Had ME3's ending been a hit with the fanbase, the forums probably would have been less active than they were in March of 2012.

drell...I don't think I would be able get rid of any of the others

I mean pretty much all of the races have their own trademark and appeal, and I wouldn't be able to call some floating pink orb a big stupid jellyfish if I got rid of the hanar. but I love asari, quarian, geth, batarian, and salarian...the others just feel like they are part of mass effect

why I don't like the drell, they just popped up in me2 (I know they are supposed to be near extinct and rare but still, make mention) and they are pretty much humans with gills, at least the asari are able to mind meld
