Hey!

Can someone make me a mask like this:

Image IPB

Maybe as the VFX tiki mask?

I'm going to need it in my upcoming PW, used be the priests of Lliira!
:)

That would be useful for me as well. Especially as a VFX.

Maybe Amethyst Dragon who made the Tiki-mask would like to make a Star-shaped mask for us? :/

You know, you may want to change your thread title a little. Something like this isn't much of a long shot.

It may take a few days, but shouldn't be too difficult to do a star.

Has somebody been playing the Neverwinter mmo? While edited, that pick looks familiar. (Yeah, I tried it out for a bit. It's an ok game, but it's certainly no NWN.)

Topic changed! ;)

I've never tried it. Got this impression that it can't compete with NWN. And thank you very much Amethyst Dragon. I don't think it's hard to make that star if you know 3ds... for me it's rocket science! Looking forward too it, and I'll post some screenies along with the Lliira temple I'm building! :)

I made the mask, but I'm not used to testing vfx and cannot seem to get test it correctly. Maybe someone wants to collaborate? We would also need a file for each race and gender.

Just use this pre-fab that we made for CCC for that very purpose.
Just match up the model with the race / gender combo and export with vfx name you want then add that vfx to your visualeffects.2da  I cannot remeber which node it would go from memory I have to go check the visualeffect.2da to remeber. After that is just a matter of scripting it in. Good luck :)

I can manage the visual aspect, but the rest is just giving me a headache. I can't get this mask in the toolset to test because I don't know how to apply a visual effect. I will do more masks if I can get this figured out. Please help!

I can handle the scripting, and 2da edits. To work back and forth we should have a fileshare set up. I can invite you to dropbox if you send me your email. A PM is fine if you are interested, Paganini. Let me know.

Very nice work!

To display a VFX on an NPC try the following OnSpawn Script:

void main()
{
    object oTarget = OBJECT_SELF;
    ApplyEffectToObject(DURATION_TYPE_PERMANENT, EffectVisualEffect(GetLocalInt(oTarget,"VFX")),oTarget);
}

Make a dynamic NPC for each race and gender, apply the onspawn script, then give the NPC an Integer variable for the VFX # you want it to display.

To quickly test your VFX, place the new 2da and mdl files in your override, then as you create new sets simply reuse the same index #'s in your 2da, and you wont have to constantly change the NPC variables. Once finished, number them properly.

Demo area w/ NPC's of each race and gender displaying a VFX (blue monk eyes):

I have seen the human male version. It looked fine. Then i set up a HAK and module with scripts for testing work on the mask. At this point the mask needs to be bound to the head nodes of the other 11 character models. I'd do this, but don't have the experience to do it quickly. I'd have to spend a day or more troubleshooting the process.

Having some issues with the Elf male mask, it seems that they are offset for some strange reason. Anyone know why this is?

Yes.

Oh, you wanted to know why?  Ok.

The elf male head itself is not exactly centered.  There's one or two others, but the the elf head is the farthest away from being centered, so it's just the most obvious.  You'll have to shift over the mask model by the same amount so that they line up when the VFX is applied.

I tried that and it didn't seem to make a difference. I handed the hak over to henesua in hopes he can get it straightened out.
