Here's some quick ideas for someone that wants to experiment with making creature and placeable models for NWN.  I could do it myself, but I figure this would be a good one for someone newer to the custom content scene to experiment with.

Model Ideas:

Wild Turkey (creature) - Use existing animations, make a slightly larger, more rounded/realistic shaped model than the current CCP/CEP model.  Maybe even experiment with making a skinmeshed version.:)

Roasted Turkey (placeable) - Make a simple placeable model of a roasted turkey on a plate or on its own to be used for table settings, in ovens, etc. Because turkey. :D

Roasted Turkey Zombie (creature) - Use existing chicken/turkey animations, but make it look like a headless, featherless, roasted turkey running around to attack PCs. :?

Roasted Turkey Zombie?

And I thought my Undead Penguin was pushing rather too heavily into the borderlands of reeking lunacy... Evidently you're not even remotely as sensible as you pretend.

Sweet.  I was not aware of that.  I'll have to dig that out and put a few in my PW.

Oh, I'm very sensible.

And impatiently waiting until Saturday to roast a 22 pound turkey (for dinner and a week's worth of leftovers)...the wife works the next two days, so we're doing turkey day dinner on a day she doesn't work.  I've got turkey on the brain today.
:o

As a Brit I'm curious. If you eat turkey for thanksgiving, just what do you eat for Christmas dinner? Do you have a special meal at Christmas? And has anyone made any decorations that could work in nwn?

We've a houseful, and most are in a food coma, or...just too much wine. We devoured a 23 pound bird. Brined in orange and lime juice, 2 cups of garlic, and salt. Stuffed with herbs, 1 onion, oranges and limes. A roast turkey zombie? That's just sick...and TASTY! What a combination! In NwN the turkey eats YOU! I love to see a classic evergreen tree with a dozen or more candle light sources. Something nice for solstice. TR, Christmas eve is lasagna and/or manicott for us. Christmas day has always been baked ham.

3RavensMore's response reminded me of one of my favorite monsters:

The christmas tree monster. They throw grenade like ornaments, and punish you with christmas carols.

... Know who made it?

Because I know what I want to ask permission to convert onto a modified chicken and turn into the most hilariously horrific undead monster ever, and possibly invoke the world development curse of Mecheon upon AD

Thanksgiving has to be turkey. As far as I'm concerned, Xmas can be turkey or ham...or just a big pile of cookies/fudge/cinnamon rolls (and a glass of eggnog or milk).  Actually, turkey is good for any occassion or no occassion...I bought a 2nd one (23 pounds) yesterday to keep frozen for 3-6 months to have just because home-roasted turkey shouldn't be limited to November/December.

There are Xmas themed decorative placeables and stuff for NWN.  Doing a google search of the old Vault will turn them up.  On a personal note, don't forget to grab yourself a copy of the Snowball Override and the Evil Snowman.
:whistle:

As far as the idea for the roasted turkey zombie...am I the only one that can recall at least one cartoon or movie with roasted poultry jumping up and chasing people around?

Well, for the holidays it generally breaks down as so - at least for my family....

Pstemarie's Birthday = Lobster (Yes my Bday is a Holiday :D)
Easter = Ham
Thanksgiving = Turkey
Christmas = Turkey or Goose
New Year's = Prime Rib

Heh - looking at the dinners from Thanksgiving to New Years I see where all my extra money goes...:blink:

you could have stopped this

Gonna be a simple mesh replacement onto the seagull that I'll get all sorted out tommorow while I look for something I can try turning into a proper Buer

I certainly vaguely remember something. Then it just goes into that one Courage the Cowardly Dog episode and, yeah. That episode was a bit dark

Anyone thought of doing a man eating turkey monster based around a certain Mr Bean sketch where he got a raw turkey stuck over his whole head. The only creepy thing with birds for roasting I can remember are the dancing raw birds (chickens) featured in the 1986 video for Peter Gabriels "Sledgehammer". (Youtube link)

@Pstemarie - Looking at that list of yours I would be very surprised if you didn't gain some weight to balance out the losing of the money.:whistle:

Finally (banging my own gong, I thought I would just remind people of my Christmas Card Kit for making up christmas cards in NwN and then either putting them in a module or taing a picture of your card and posting it somewhere on the bsn.

My attitude to salad can be summed up in a quote from the 1st hobbit movie -

"Dori: [regarding a piece of lettuce] Try it. Just a mouthful.
Ori: I don't like green food.
Dwalin: Where's the meat?
Ori: Have they got any chips?"

Salad is good - if you're a rabbit! otherwise Yechhh!

Vegetables?  Isn't that what food eats? :P

Are you a vegetarian?  And if so, do you do it because you love animals, or is it because you hate plants? :P

As far as eating innocent animals goes...my body is a product of
evolution that has lead to being an omnivore.  I do eat plants, but I also eat cooked animals.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs had giant animated cooked poultry.  Not undead, per se, but still up and around and chasing people. And yes, I have kids, so I've seen it.

Hey - here's an idea - how about a Christmas tree that attacks the PC if he tries to cut it down. Oi...we got that...treants. Hmmm....back to my cave.

Better yet - how about Christmas as a theme for the December CC Challenge and push the current theme out ot January. :wizard:
