I've never had a TV with a port like that, is all. I've never seen someone with one. Well, at least no one with a reason to use the port anyways. Still, doesn't seem like a mouse and keyboard are really "lay down and play" sort of devices. At least not as much as a controller.
You've never had a TV with an HDMI port? Because that's all I use to plug mine into my TV...
I've never had the cord to do so. Then, I've never needed one. I prefer the plug n' play nature of consoles. Though, that's going to the wayside with this gen.
Freaking mandatory HDMI setups man...
Sony and Microsoft were foul for that.

Do consoles not have HDMI ports too? Mine do. And the single cord you need is much more plug n play then the old red white and yellows.
Seriously. Furk those things. :S

Nah, I mean not needing to install games or making sure that my computer is capable of running the games.

I've done that for a few games. It doesn't translate very well, imo.
It does quite well for games designed for them.
See, Ubisoft games, DMC, or most third-person adventure games.

This is just nVidia being a childish brat because they didn't get a console contract. They're lashing out.

Probably. Though I heard Jade Empire was supposed to be like that, but the gamepad controls were atrocious compared to the M&K controls.

This is them being competitve. And they will be. The way I see it, MS and Sony have put all their eggs in one basket. PC hardware/gaming PC's are a more flexible and dynamic scenario. Also more expensive, but then I think desktop hardware will make a comeback.

No it isn't. AMD coming up with Mantle is them being competitive. nVidia coming up with their own special systems is them being competitive.
Being passed over for a console contract and then saying "WE DON'T LIKE YOU ANYWAY" is not competitive, mature, or anything but childish lashing out.

what's the difference? PC is not much more. Quality wise you're better off
- It's the graphic card is what cost the most. You still need a Televesion (or monitor) if you're using a console.
- You gotta have controllers with Consoles - PC it's keyboard / Mouse
- You gotta have speakers with both. Really in comparison it's not a whole of difference. PS4 is what? $400 on a Black Friday......that's a great deal. My Graphic Card (Geforce GTX 580) was around that. I already have everything else (keyboard/mouse/monitor etc...) there's nothing else I needed. So I wasn't paying anymore then I needed.
- With each new consoles you got to buy new accessories. For example: You want to Co-Op. Can't use Wii U (with GC/ Wii) Accessories. With PC no problem. I'm still using my Headset from 5+ yrs ago. That's just one example

Please, tell us any seven-year period where you spent 700 bucks on your PC and no more. It doesn't work that way, sadly--I should know. I just shelled out 200 bucks for a card that will play anything NOW at mostly maxed settings, but in about three years will almost certainly need upgrading.

Or maybe it actually is. A PS3/360 costs about $400 in Brazil. A decent PC? Over a grand.

It is still more expensive though. I just want to play games I don't really care about the advantages (which are admittedly a lot) PC has over console they still get the same games. Also consoles always come with a controller and most people already have TV's. (with speakers) I'm not sure what you are talking about there.
I wasn't trying to get anywhere with tv's...and controllers and speakers. I simply was stating the comparisons.
PC=You have Monitors, Mouse/Keyboard/Speakers
Consoles= TV, Controllers/ Speakers
in comparison you have the same...basically. Again, I do admit that PC is more $$$ if you're the type of person who wants the State of the Art Rig........

You can build one for cheaper than that, but a really good gaming rig is well over a grand. Depends on what you want out of your gaming hobby. For me, having a regular low end PC for 5 yrs, I'm ready to spend that kind of money. I buy enough games each year to justify it. Cheap digital content, supporting indie devs directly and mods also make it a better choice for me.

If you're the kind of person that wants a rig that runs games on the lowest of low settings at more than 13 FPS, it's more expensive.
I bought by previous card two years ago or so. 150. And it was on its last legs with the latest games coming out this year.
It's more expensive, there's no way around that.

So you have to pay console price twice at least twice a generation...interesting.
